Chapter 449 All of You Get Out

After that accident, Travis must have been desperate to prove to the world that there was nothing wrong with his body.

Even though not many people knew about it, his inferiority complex drove him to do so.

Ivy had calculated Travis's thoughts perfectly, and everything went smoothly.

Travis's body stiffened, his eyes glaring intensely at Lucas.

Lucas pulled down his mask and removed the respirator from Travis's mouth. "What do you want to say? I can hear you."

"You!" Travis glared at him with hatred, unable to utter a single word for a long time.

Back then, it was Travis's honor to marry Tristan's mother. He had eagerly married the wife he had dreamed of, but they turned against each other, and he hated her for decades.

Now, he was being told that he had hated the wrong person, and he had even taken his wife's life!

Regretful tears slid down Travis's cheeks, and the pain in his body made him howl in agony.

Lucas patted Travis's chest, ignoring the increased pain, and softly asked, "Do you want to die? As long as you have a breath left, the medical staff will fight to save you. When I say I'll send you off, you should understand what I mean, right? Do you need it?"

Travis used all his strength to nod, his eyes filled with complex regret and torment, driving him to the brink of madness.

"Alright, don't get excited. I'll help you." Lucas put the respirator back on Travis but disconnected the other end.

"It'll be a bit painful, bear with it." Lucas smiled at Travis. "When your wife was lying in the operating room waiting for you to sign, she endured for a long time and was in great pain. So, I can't give you a quick death; otherwise, it would be too comfortable for you, and that wouldn't be meaningful."

Then Lucas disconnected another piece of equipment.

Gradually, the devices assisting Travis were reduced bit by bit, causing him to writhe in agony on the bed.

"Why!" he questioned Lucas.

Lucas raised an eyebrow, indifferent to Travis's pain. "I studied medicine to uphold justice and punish the wicked, not to save lives."

Travis wished he could kill him. Damn justice, what did the Forbes family's affairs have to do with him?

"Then you should punish Ivy!"

Lucas's expression stiffened, his blue eyes gradually turning icy. "Don't worry, one day everyone will join you down there. I hope by then you've gained your wife's forgiveness, so you don't end up fighting in hell."

He coldly watched as Travis's breath gradually ceased, his flushed face turning pale.

His eyes remained wide open, lifeless.

Only then did Lucas turn and leave the ICU, removing his sterile gown and putting on a baseball cap.

He pressed the brim of his hat and walked in another direction, lost in thought.

An hour later, Tristan emerged from the examination room.

The doctor followed with a report. "Mr. Forbes, congratulations, the toxins in your body have been completely cleared. The prolonged sleep was due to someone adding a sedative to the antidote, which won't have any adverse effects on your body. Rest assured."

"Thank you." Tristan took the report and shook the doctor's hand lightly.

He glanced at Katniss, standing nearby, who had listened to the doctor's words intently.

Katniss couldn't suppress the smile on her lips or the mist in her eyes.

She didn't say a word, but her joy was evident, her emotions written all over her face.

That evening, Emory booked a large private room and invited a group of people to celebrate.

Even Matilda and George showed up, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement.

George was in his element, showing off the latest features of his game and recounting the hilarious story of how he had no clue Tristan was 'Blaze.' Everyone cracked up, and the party went on until the early hours of the morning.

Katniss, who hadn't slept the night before, was exhausted. "Let's go home, go to sleep, just sleep."

Tristan, lounging comfortably on the couch, chuckled at her repeated insistence on "just sleep."

He leaned in and whispered, "You go ahead, I'll be out in five minutes."

Tonight, Tristan was the star of the show, making it tough to leave. But Katniss saw the mischievous glint in his eyes and smiled, sneaking out of the room with her bag while no one noticed.

True to his word, Tristan came down in less than five minutes, braving the strong wind to get in the car and drive her home.

Katniss yawned and stretched, saying, "Tomorrow is Zenith Group's new product launch. It's been delayed by two days, but the core technology hasn't leaked, so it should be very successful."

"Tomorrow you sleep, I'll handle the company," Tristan said, his skilled hands maneuvering the steering wheel as they drove home.

Katniss turned to look at him. "Does that mean you won't ignore everything anymore?"

Tristan raised an eyebrow and replied in a deep voice, "Marrying into your family was to show my determination to marry you, not to start wearing you out."

If it weren't for a series of accidents, how could Tristan have borne to see her so busy?

"The shares are still yours, but I'll handle everything else," he added.

Katniss's lips twitched, struggling to suppress her smile.

The next day, news of Travis's death in the hospital spread.

Although he had been expelled from the Forbes family, he was once a prominent figure, and any news about him would be reported.

Tristan coldly read the news, then called the Forbes Villa to check on Adelaide's condition.

After all, Travis was her biological son, and Adelaide had lost her appetite but was otherwise fine.

Only then did Tristan feel relieved and head to Zenith Group.

The shareholders, seeing him, were on high alert, completely losing their arrogance in front of Katniss.

But Tristan was ruthless, immediately pulling out the surveillance footage from the last shareholders' meeting.

He identified the shareholders who had made things difficult for Katniss and forcibly bought their shares, kicking them out of the company.

"From today, the shares of Zenith Group, Synergy Global Corporation, and The Astor Corporation are under my wife Katniss's name, managed by me. If you have any complaints, talk to me directly. If you bother her, you're out."

Some were unhappy with Tristan's decision to fire people so easily.

They considered approaching Katniss to discuss the matter, but Tristan's warning made them abandon the idea.

Everyone was dejected, not daring to make a sound.

Katniss enjoyed a leisurely time with Evie, waking up to find Tristan already gone.

She spent the morning playing with Evie and went shopping with Sophia, buying her several outfits.

Just as she was feeling happy, Katniss received a call from Rupert.

Rupert's voice was filled with joy. "Katniss, Jessica had a baby boy! You're an aunt now!"
