Chapter 211 Don't Trust Me?

From Eudora's spot, the G-Wagon seemed to glide closer under the streetlight.

As it got nearer, she could barely make out some shadows inside, but she wasn't sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she snapped, "What are you staring at? Are you nuts? Let's go!"

Nicholas glanced over, saw nothing, sighed, and drove off.

He was really curious if Tristan had tamed Katniss or if it was the other way around.

He wanted to swap some tips with Tristan on how to handle Saskia.

His mind was so wrapped up in this that he didn't notice Eudora's tense expression. In the dim car, her hand on her leg was clenched tight, nails digging into her skin.

Her eyes were glued to the rearview mirror, watching the G-Wagon fade away. She thought she saw it shake, which made her quickly shut her eyes!

Tristan had a few drinks, so Katniss was driving. Just as she was about to start the engine, Tristan grabbed her hand.

He was a bit tipsy, and the faint smell of smoke and alcohol wasn't unpleasant; it even made him seem more attractive.

She didn't pull her hand back and said with a bit of sarcasm, "My hands are rough, not as soft as Miss Owens'. Better not touch them."

After a few seconds of silence, Tristan's low chuckle came from his throat. His head leaned against the seat, the veins on his neck standing out with a hint of wildness.

His laughter made Katniss uneasy. She tried to pull her hand back, but he held on tighter. "What are you laughing at? Am I wrong? That young girl in her twenties is younger and prettier than me. Do you dare say she's not better looking than me?"

Katniss admitted she was jealous.

And for the first time, she realized that the younger generation was tough competition, with those new young girls being both beautiful and well-shaped.

Tristan's looks were too striking, especially with his noble demeanor; no woman could resist his charm.

"A cat that steals food is always because it's not full." His deep voice was particularly clear in the dim car, his body slightly leaning towards her.

His well-defined hand lifted to tuck her hair behind her ear, his fingertips lightly brushing her cheek. The rough sensation made her breath quicken. "So, remember to satisfy me before I go out in the future."

He leaned in to kiss her lips, his heavy breath mixed with the scent of alcohol hitting her face.

He pressed her into the driver's seat, deepening the kiss. Instinctively, she reached for his strong forearm, feeling its cool, steely strength. His hand quickly pinned hers down, the kiss growing rougher, more urgent, as if he wanted to claim her right there in the car.

His muffled groan echoed in the car.

He had definitely had too much to drink tonight, thanks to Sean's efforts.

Sean's intentions were clear, and that wine Anna "accidentally" spilled on him was the final straw.

It was a step too far. If Katniss hadn't shown up, he would've lost it.

She was so quiet even when jealous, her delicate features acting like nothing was wrong. He just wanted to make love to her right then and see if she could still keep that poker face!

"If my legs are weak, I won't be able to drive later!" She turned her head away, his kiss landing on her neck and shoulder.

The heat from his breath seeped through her clothes, warming her collarbone and chest. He calmed down for a moment before letting her go.

She also took a moment to calm down before driving home.

Halfway home, Tristan got a few Facebook messages. His eyes turned cold, and he blocked the account without a second thought.

Lately, they had both been so busy, sometimes only seeing each other in the middle of the night, with barely any time to talk.

When they got home, it was eleven o'clock, which was early for them.

He was so focused on her that he didn't want to miss a second, even in the shower.

The bathroom, the sofa at the foot of the bed, the large double bed—all bore traces of their passion.

She was lost in it, but thoughts of Anna made her uneasy and distracted.

Seeing this, he lightly bit her breast, "Don't trust me? Do you think I'm the kind of man who can't make up his mind?"

His warm hands gently climbed her waist, the tingling sensation spreading through her body.

Katniss thought carefully that Tristan's devotion was impressive, whether it was before or now.

She had never seen him look at another woman the way he looked at her, the softness in his eyes and the loss of control in his expression only appearing when he was with her.

"Don't get distracted!" he growled lowly, his face showing a hint of unsatisfied desire.

He kissed her lips fiercely, wanting to see her lose control and the expression of being conquered by him.

His insecurity was even more severe than Katniss's; her lack of initiative always left him feeling unsatisfied.

Before Katniss fell into a daze, her eyes reflected Tristan's collarbone and Adam's apple covered in a thin layer of sweat, his tense jaw, and tightly pressed lips.

During the holidays, Katniss funded a team-building event for several teachers from the educational institution. She didn't go because of Sophia.

Unexpectedly, on the first day, Tristan left her unable to get out of bed. He had gone to work early.

Despite not sleeping all night, he was still in high spirits, kissing Katniss's forehead with satisfaction before leaving.

She didn't even have the strength to respond, sleeping until the afternoon before getting up to send a lesson plan to Aaron and Donna.

Then she went to spend time with Sophia.

Sophia was walking smoothly with a walker, and Juno was training her to walk without any support.

Seeing Katniss coming over, Sophia got a bit distracted and almost fell, but Juno quickly caught her.

"Miss Grey, you're here, and Sophia can't focus. Let's stop for now; I'll go prepare dinner." Juno helped Sophia sit on the couch, smiled at Katniss, and then turned to the kitchen.

Katniss chatted with Sophia for a bit, patiently waiting for Sophia to stammer out her responses.

The sky was completely dark when Saskia came downstairs and realized Katniss was there.

After giving Katniss a knowing look, Saskia waited until after dinner, when Juno took Sophia for a walk, to pull Katniss onto the couch for some gossip. "Was that girl wiping Tristan's clothes yesterday interested in him?"

Katniss nodded, "She probably is."

"How can you be so calm?" Saskia was puzzled. "Where's Tristan?"

Katniss frowned and shook her head. "I'm not sure. He should still be busy with the new project."

Saskia suddenly stood up, scolding her, "The project is directly related to that girl. Knowing she has ulterior motives, how can you let Tristan go out alone? You should follow him and assert your dominance!"

"I..." Katniss brushed her hair, feeling uneasy. She was exhausted from Tristan.

How could she have the energy to follow him?

"I trust him," she said.

Saskia rolled her eyes, "I heard from Nicholas that last night, that girl didn't hide her feelings for Tristan in front of you. Do you know what it means to be prepared? Letting a young girl suppress you, how pathetic. Give me your phone!"

Seeing Katniss's phone on the coffee table, Saskia grabbed it, quickly unlocked it, and initiated a video call with Tristan on Facebook.

She was so fast that Katniss didn't have time to react, and Tristan answered even faster.

His chiseled profile appeared on the screen, and Katniss hesitated for a moment.

Realizing what was happening, she found that Saskia had already handed the phone to her.

She blinked, cleared her throat, and asked, "Where are you?"

"I'm sorry. My girlfriend is checking on me," Tristan said in a clear and pleasant voice, explaining to someone beside him.

He got up and walked out, the camera shaking for a moment, and Katniss saw Anna's shadow.

He went to the hallway, seemingly standing by a window, the breeze ruffling his collar.

"I just randomly sent you a video; why did you come out?" she said.

Tristan's eyes narrowed slightly, and he couldn't help but smile, "Katniss, you have so many little habits that annoy me, and you're so stubborn."

"I'm not stubborn. Did you drink? Is Mr. Gray with you? Do you need me to pick you up?" Katniss changed the topic.

However, her topic was opposite to the 'random video' she mentioned earlier, and she realized it was wrong after saying it.

"I didn't drink tonight. Ryan covered for me. Since you sent me a video, I'll come back early." He cleared his throat, seemingly returning to the private room to grab his jacket from the chair.

His voice was deep and different from before, "This meal is on me. You guys continue; I'm leaving. My girlfriend is waiting at home."

As he finished speaking, Ryan quickly stood up and followed him out.

The people in the private room behind them were all exclaiming, teasing that someone like Tristan would say such things.

Ryan knew that normally, Tristan wouldn't. He was usually very aloof.

But Anna was clingy, and this was said for her to hear.

Seeing him end the dinner like that, Katniss quickly found an excuse to hang up the video.

"It's just a dinner; it's not good to make a fuss." She glanced at Saskia, thinking it was too early to drag Tristan back.

Her head hurt.

Saskia sat down and nudged her shoulder, "Tristan openly said you were checking on him. Why are you embarrassed?"

As she spoke, Saskia's phone suddenly beeped. She took it out and rolled her eyes. "Look, Nicholas sent me this."

It was a video showing the scene from the dinner Tristan had just left. Anna was chatting with Eudora.

Nicholas was sitting opposite them, secretly filming.

"Would the Forbes family agree to a tutor marrying Mr. Forbes?" Anna asked Eudora.

Eudora smiled politely, "Miss Owens, I'm not too sure about the Forbes family's matters, but Tristan has never cared about these things. It's not as class-conscious as you think."

This indirectly told Anna that Tristan could marry whoever he wanted, even if she was a beggar.

Anna pursed her lips and asked, "How long have Mr. Forbes and she known each other? Have they been together for many years?"

"I just returned from abroad earlier this year, so I'm not too clear about their relationship. Sorry, Miss Owens," Eudora said.
