Chapter 389 That's Him!

Ryan was stunned. While arranging for someone to find the hospital where the video was taken, he informed Emory and Nicholas about it.

Emory and Nicholas rushed to Zenith Group immediately, where Katniss was arranging her work before leaving.

"You came just in time. I need to go to Pearlhaven."

"Katniss!"

Before she could finish, Emory interrupted her, "How many places have you been to in the past few months? Did you see him any of those times? Give it up. If he were still alive, he would have come back by now. Why would he let you keep searching for him?"

As he spoke, a look of obvious reluctance flashed in his eyes.

Katniss slightly lifted her eyelids and stared at Emory. After he finished speaking, she slowly began to speak.

"All the previous information was just rumors. This time is different. I saw the video, and the person in the video can't be anyone but him."

"But the greater the hope, the greater the potential disappointment."

"Is it good to have no hope at all?"

Emory wanted to say more, but Katniss interrupted him with a wave of her hand, "I have to go. If you want, you can come with me."

Emory and Nicholas exchanged a glance and could only reluctantly agree.

After leaving Katniss's office, Emory immediately sent a text message.

[She found you.]

On the way to Pearlhaven, Katniss's emotions were extremely complex.

How could she not worry that all her hopes would end up in vain?

But the side profile that kept flashing in her mind matched perfectly with the person in her memory. How could it not be him?

Whether it was due to exhaustion or some other reason, she fell asleep during the short one-and-a-half-hour flight and had a dream.

In the dream, she saw Tristan, who had been missing for a long time.

"You came."

Tristan's deep voice was as it used to be, and the affection in his eyes was just as before.

Seeing him again, Katniss's long-held strength crumbled in an instant.

She cried uncontrollably, reaching out to hug him, but her body suddenly fell heavily.

"Katniss, Katniss, what's wrong?"

Katniss opened her eyes to see Emory's face. Where was Tristan?

Tears welled up in her eyes. She closed them, took a deep breath, and said, "It's nothing, just a dream."

Was it because Tristan was also missing Katniss that she dreamed of him?

Or had he already...

No, it couldn't be. He must still be alive.

Since she hadn't seen his body, she had to keep searching.

Pearlhaven.

After getting off the plane, Emory wanted Katniss to rest for a while before going to the hospital.

But how could she wait any longer?

She directly asked the driver to take them to Pearlhaven Hospital.

Hospitals, except for the maternity ward, were rarely places where you could say "congratulations."

But at this moment, Katniss felt an indescribable joy in her heart, a feeling telling her that he was here!

Following the information Ryan had found, she took the elevator to the 23rd floor.

Before stepping out of the elevator, she turned into the corridor, and her eyes widened instantly. Tears welled up, blurring her vision and dulling her senses.

But the figure not far away was exceptionally clear.

That person was tall and handsome.

Even in a loose hospital gown, he looked as if he were wearing a custom suit, easily drawing attention.

Who else could it be but Tristan?

Thinking of the three months of separation, the possible life-and-death situations, and the suppressed emotions of the past three months, she had no rationality left. She just wanted to throw herself into his arms and cry her heart out.

But seeing him in person, Katniss felt as if her legs were weighed down, making each step incredibly difficult.

In the end, she could only stand still, tears streaming down her face, softly murmuring, "Tristan, I found you. I finally found you. I'm here to take you home."

But Katniss stood there for a long time, neither hearing Tristan call her name nor feeling him approach.

What was going on?

She wiped her tears and saw that he was still some distance away.

Only then did she notice.

Tristan looked very off, his limbs stiff, walking very slowly, as if inching forward.

Was he injured?

This realization felt like a heavy blow to her heart. If it weren't for her, how could he have been so severely injured?

But surviving a fall from a great height was already a blessing. What did injuries matter?

As long as he was alive, she would stay with him.

Even if he couldn't be cured, it didn't matter. Being alive was enough.

The phone tightly held in Tristan's hand was still lit, showing Emory's message.

He had just seen it, but Katniss was already in front of him.

His usually calm eyes were now filled with intense emotion.

After a long time, Tristan slowly walked towards Katniss, watching the joy gradually appear on her lips, and walked past her.

How could this be?

She turned sharply, reaching out to grab Tristan's clothes, but Emory stopped her.

"Wait, Katniss. You can't approach him now."

"Why?"

Katniss looked up at Emory and Nicholas, suddenly realizing something, "You found him long ago? And didn't tell me?"

Emory and Nicholas exchanged a glance, and after some silent communication, Emory spoke, "I know it's hard to understand, but we had to do it. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good for you or Tristan."

They were Tristan's best friends. There was no reason for them to do anything against him.

But knowing they had his information and still letting her search the world like a madwoman filled Katniss with indescribable anger.

She took several deep breaths, suppressing her emotions, and said in a low voice, "You better give me a good reason!"

Emory organized his thoughts and carefully began, "We did find Tristan two months ago."

Seeing Katniss's eyes narrow, he quickly added, "He has amnesia and doesn't remember anything. He was very resistant to our presence. Whenever we mentioned the past, it would agitate him."

He glanced at Tristan, who hadn't gone far, sighed deeply, and continued, "We talked to his doctor about his condition. The doctor said that seeing someone close might help, but it could also overstimulate his nerves, making him refuse treatment. So, we waited until now."

Katniss's mind was in turmoil. She felt there was more to the story, but couldn't piece it together.

She looked at Tristan, tears falling, "And his leg..."

"It should be a sequela from the fall. The doctor said it's a miracle he's not paralyzed. It will take time to heal."

Katniss nodded, "I understand. You can go now. I'll go see him."
