Chapter 310 You Can't Get Involved in This Trouble

Back then, after Adelaide made things clear to Tristan and said she had obtained half of the shares from Travis, Tristan felt something was off.

Especially when he heard that the lawyer kept finding excuses to delay and refused to take the transfer document for legal recognition, he was convinced that there was a problem with the document.

When he took it out to look, there was no writing on it.

But he didn't make a fuss and told Adelaide to keep it safe.

Pretending to be unaware, he kept urging the lawyer, creating the illusion that they were still in the dark.

Travis wanted to use this method in the bet, but Tristan had already seen through it.

"Now, I don't have a single share of Synergy Global Corporation in my hands. The only responsibility I have is a few unfinished projects, with a total loss of just a few hundred thousand dollars, which I will settle with the finance department."

He tapped his finger on the table repeatedly, the dull sound echoing in Travis's heart.

"As for the other losses, they are all caused by Eudora. You chose her, so you take responsibility. Good luck with that."

He sneered, patted Travis on the shoulder without much force, but Travis fell back into his chair.

The plan failed, and the fake share transfer document was exposed, failing to keep Tristan!

"Stop right there!" Seeing Tristan walk to the conference room door, Travis suddenly stood up and said, "Aren't you so great? Are you going to fight me to the end like this? If Synergy Global Corporation goes bankrupt and I'm heavily in debt, the Forbes family won't fare much better!"

The Forbes family still had some assets under Travis's name.

There would definitely be losses. By then, would Tristan and Adelaide just sit in their remaining mansion and luxury cars, waiting for their demise?

Tristan took out a cigarette and lit it, took off his suit jacket, and threw it on the conference room table. "Your debt, what does it have to do with the Forbes family?"

"An hour ago, I already issued a statement. You, Travis, have been expelled from the Forbes family, and we don't want Synergy Global Corporation either." Adelaide spoke again, resolutely rushing to Travis and giving him a slap.

"Having a rebellious son like you is my lifelong sin. Expelling you from the Forbes family lessens my guilt!"

The slap wasn't hard, as Adelaide was old, and Travis barely felt any pain.

Ivy quickly stood up and blocked in front of Travis, saying, "Mrs. Forbes, this is too much. He is your son. Are you disowning him? In the future, if you follow Tristan, you will be looked down upon. Don't you feel sad that there is no son to be with you in your final days?"

"Don't worry, I'm in good health. I was born to lose my son. I don't need a son; having a grandson is enough, and I won't regret this life!"

Adelaide didn't know what she thought of, but she laughed sarcastically, "Besides, who told you that following Tristan means being looked down upon?"

With one sentence, Ivy and Travis's faces changed, and they stared straight at Tristan.

Even Eudora, who had been sitting in the chair, looked at Tristan.

No, everyone in the room was looking at Tristan.

Sunlight fell on him, his white shirt shrouded in swirling smoke.

His noble face and sharp eyebrows had regained their former sharpness and precision, and the aura of decadence had vanished without a trace.

"I hope you can still save Synergy Global Corporation and have a showdown with me." He threw the sentence to Travis, then left with Adelaide and Ryan.

A resignation letter was placed on the desk in the CEO's office, and all of Tristan's former glory had been packed up and taken away by Ryan's people.

Tristan stood in the office and smoked another cigarette. This was where he and Katniss had truly started.

With many memories, he seemed to still see Katniss standing in front of the desk reporting to him.

It also seemed that he could hear Katniss formally calling him, "Mr. Forbes."

After a long time, he took a deep breath, finished his cigarette, and Royce walked over and said, "Mr. Forbes, Mrs. Forbes is waiting in the car. She has something to say to you."

"Got it." Tristan responded and turned to go downstairs.

The elevator went all the way down, and everywhere he saw employees submitting their resignations and leaving with boxes.

But when they saw Tristan, they still stopped and respectfully called out, "Mr. Forbes."

Tristan responded and walked to the lobby, seeing a group of people gathered at the company entrance, ready to leave.

He paused and turned to Ryan, "Take these people in."

"Yes." Ryan quickly responded and walked to the group of people preparing to leave the company. "This is my business card. If anyone is looking for a new job, take down my number and contact me."

He handed the business card to the nearest person.

The group was stunned for a few seconds, then quickly asked, "What do you mean? Ryan, what new job?"

"Yeah, isn't Synergy Global Corporation done for? Where's the new company?"

"Has Mr. Forbes already planned everything in advance?"

The crowd was abuzz with confusion and curiosity.

Ryan felt that these people were just like how he used to be in Tristan's eyes!

He immediately became proud, stretched his neck, and said, "Don't make a fuss. Do you think you can easily understand Mr. Forbes's capabilities?"

He had just found out himself! Let these people wait and stay puzzled for now!

"Hurry up, what are you standing there for? Take the business card and note down the number. Following Mr. Forbes will definitely make you money. Even if Synergy Global Corporation goes down, he won't. Isn't that impressive?"

He was a bit smug, feeling stifled, but some things were better left unsaid for now.

In the car, Tristan glanced at Ryan's 'swaggering' demeanor, sneered, and loosened his tie, then turned to look at Adelaide.

"Do you need something from me?"

"Yes," Adelaide paused and said, "I heard that Katniss is back and is now the general manager of White Corporation, becoming Benjamin's people?"

"Benjamin's people?" This made Tristan frown, and he said in a deep voice, "She is just partnering with Benjamin, it's a cooperative relationship."

"If she is partnering with Benjamin, the White family will target her. Tristan, you can't get involved in this trouble. Your foundation is unstable now..."

Adelaide's words were cut off by Tristan's gaze.

He didn't speak, just looked at Adelaide, and it was hard to tell if his eyes were filled with disappointment or something else.

That gaze felt like an invisible hand choking Adelaide.

After a long time, she lowered her head but insisted on finishing her words, "I know I did many things wrong and hurt her. I will make it up to her."

"How will you make it up?" Tristan retorted, "With money? How about giving her the entire Forbes family?"

"Material compensation is a given. If she wasn't involved with the White family now, we could have brought her back," Adelaide said without hesitation. "In the future, the Forbes family will be hers!"

Tristan's eyes were filled with coldness, "Do you think you can just bring her back? She is a person, not a pet you can throw out when she is inconvenient and bring back when she isn't. Do you think good food and drink will make up for it?"

Adelaide fell silent.

"Do you think you hurt her?" He pointed to his chest, "You hurt me. You made me feel unworthy to appear in front of her, unworthy to bring her back."

After a long time, Adelaide's eyes reddened, and she murmured, "Tristan, your mother died at your father's hands. I feel so guilty. Your mother's greatest wish was for you to be well. If I can't protect you, I feel like I'd be letting your mom down. I wouldn't be able to face her in heaven.

"Travis, that bastard, how did I give birth to him? How can I make up for the harm he caused you? How can I be worthy of your mother?"

Talking about the past filled Tristan's heart with coldness.

After a long time, he said, "I am fine now. You have already atoned for Travis. From now on, don't interfere in my matters."

With that, he opened the car door and got out, returning to his own car.

Ryan, who was still showing off, saw him return and quickly left the crowd to get back in the car, starting the engine to leave.

Royce sighed, "Mr. Forbes doesn't have the ruthless tactics of the wealthy. He is a sentimental person. Perhaps fulfilling his feelings is the best thing."

Adelaide was silent for a long time and then said, "In the world of the wealthy, sentimental people can't survive. Forget it, let's go."

"Back to the mountain?" Royce asked.

"Back to The Forbes Mansion. Katniss is back and involved with the White family. I'm afraid she will bring disaster to Tristan instead of good fortune. I must keep an eye on them," Adelaide said, her eyes filled with complex emotions.

After Benjamin returned to the White family, he didn't come back to White Corporation.

Some restless people showed their true colors, constantly causing trouble for Katniss. Fortunately, Samuel helped suppress them, so it didn't take much of her energy.

But Samuel's increasingly meticulous care made Katniss feel something was off.

After work, she and Samuel got into the elevator together.

"How's the search for a secretary going?" Samuel asked.

She smiled, "Matilda sent me a message saying she found one. They can start in a couple of days. Thank you for your help these past few days."

She deliberately kept her distance, and Samuel noticed, "I never thought we would be fighting side by side one day."

"From reuniting with Benjamin to now, it's been less than a year, and so much has happened. It can only be said that fate is like this," Katniss lowered her head, remembering a year ago when she and Tristan were in Nightfall City.

Scenes from the past flashed in her mind, making her heart ache.

Perhaps her heart had softened. After seeing Tristan a few times, she couldn't resist the feelings ingrained in her bones that controlled her rationality.

"I told you, the world of the wealthy is full of changes. It's normal for things to turn upside down overnight," Samuel hinted.

Katniss had never benefited from the Forbes family, and this wasn't the first time Samuel had hinted at something.

Before, Katniss had thrown herself into it without thinking about his words. Now, it seemed Samuel had a clear understanding of the interests of the wealthy.

"There's something you don't know," Samuel said with a sarcastic smile, "Bella's mental breakdown is related to Eudora. The incident with the chandelier falling at Miss Stuart and Mr. Kennedy's wedding was orchestrated by Michael. Mr. Forbes took control of The Astor Corporation, and Michael was sidelined."

Now, Tristan was so disgusted with Eudora, suspecting that all of Michael's actions were related to Eudora, but he had no evidence.
