Chapter 345 Give All the Property to Katniss
"Thank you, I don't need to go to the hospital. It's just my stomach acting up again. I'll get back to work right away."
Hazel was nervous, afraid she might have said something she shouldn't have.
The supervisor was busy and didn't want to say much upon seeing her like this. "Hurry up, then, don't delay things. If you're sick, get treated. You can't just take a salary and not work during work hours. Who's going to support you?"
After complaining, she left, and Hazel closed the door again.
Turning around, her eyes met Benjamin's.
"How come I didn't know you had a stomach problem?"
Hazel said coldly, "I'm just pretending to play hard to get. No need for Mr. White to worry. You should go back. I still have work to do. Don't worry, next time we meet, just pretend you don't know me. You can even make things difficult for me like Perry did earlier. After all, I don't want to trouble you."
She took the tray from the cabinet and left the break room.
Benjamin's deep eyes were hidden in the dark, staring at her departing figure. After a while, he left the break room and walked towards the private room.
Throughout the whole process, the two acted like strangers, with no further contact.
But everyone knew Hazel and Benjamin knew each other, so no one dared to make things difficult for her.
In the early morning, as everyone dispersed, Benjamin was surrounded by people as he walked out of the entertainment club. The colorful lights shone on him, making his slightly upturned lips look even more charming.
After sending off the group, he got into the car and leaned back in the rear seat, instructing the driver to drive.
His long eyes, slightly narrowed, looked at the fleeting night scene outside the window. Suddenly, he caught sight of a woman hunched over and vomiting at the corner near the entrance of the club.
The driver in the front seat said softly, "This Miss must have drunk too much, vomiting like that. She doesn't take care of herself."
But Benjamin knew Hazel didn't drink a drop of alcohol. He raised his hand to pinch his brow and looked down without speaking.
The first ray of morning sunlight shone into the room, waking Katniss.
She was awakened by the doorbell. Sophia, who had said she would return in the afternoon, came back early.
She quickly got up and went downstairs. Seeing this, Tristan called Emory, "Send over the things I asked you to prepare."
Half-asleep, Emory mumbled a response, hung up the phone, and went back to sleep.
Downstairs, Sophia didn't look well. After returning, she went straight to her room to pack her things.
Katniss quietly entered the room. "Mom, why did you come back so early? Are you alone?"
"I came back alone, took the bus." Sophia looked up and smiled at her, but the smile was forced.
She put her clothes back in the closet, saying as she worked, "It's reassuring to be back. This is home."
"If you were coming back, you should have told me in advance. I would have picked you up." Katniss squatted down to help her pack.
Sophia took the things Katniss handed her and put them in the closet. "No need to pick me up. I can still move around. I don't want to trouble you."
With Katniss's help, the few pieces of luggage were quickly packed.
"How are Matilda and the others?" Katniss asked as she put the suitcase on top of the closet.
Sophia sat down, her face full of worry. "In the past few days, I didn't notice any problems. But I heard him complaining to Matilda behind my back, saying I was affecting their married life and asking when I would leave."
Early this morning, she heard Matilda arguing with George about this, so she found an excuse to come back early.
"Katniss, no matter what, I consider you my own daughter. But in the eyes of others, that's not the case. So I think after you and Matilda both get married, and when Evie is a bit older, I should stay with Matilda to avoid gossip. But look..."
Sophia wasn't exactly unhappy, but she was definitely uncomfortable.
George couldn't tolerate her, and her presence would cause Matilda and George to argue.
"Mom, it's normal for them to want to live as a couple since they just got together. Don't take it to heart. George is just immature."
Sophia sighed, patting Katniss's hand. "Forget it. She's already registered for marriage. Let her be. By the way, I saw a pair of men's shoes at the door."
She stopped there, guessing that Tristan was around.
"He's upstairs watching Evie. He'll come down later. He's probably quite nervous, so he's dressing up."
Katniss couldn't help but laugh. Recently, the wound on Tristan's head had healed quite a bit. The thick bandages had been replaced with thinner ones.
Some of the hair that had been shaved off had grown back, giving him a rugged look.
He felt it was impolite and kept saying he wanted to tidy up before meeting Sophia.
Sophia also smiled. "Didn't you say you have a follow-up appointment today? Go upstairs and get ready. I'll make breakfast. We'll leave early and come back early."
"Okay." Katniss responded and went upstairs.
Half an hour later, in the dining room.
Sophia sat at the head of the table, with Katniss next to her, and Tristan holding Evie.
Aaron sat at the other end, watching the 'awkward son-in-law meeting the mother-in-law' scene.
"Don't be nervous. Since you're with Katniss, I won't oppose it." Sophia broke the silence first.
Tristan wasn't exactly nervous, but he was trying to be more formal and was afraid of being too serious and making others uncomfortable.
Not knowing how to strike the right balance, he appeared nervous.
"Ms. Stuart, about what happened before, I made Katniss suffer, and I made you worry."
Sophia paused, wanting to say they should eat first, but seeing Tristan's expression, she knew he wouldn't be at ease until the topic was addressed.
She simply put down her utensils. "Let me just say one thing. I want a guarantee. Can you promise that nothing like this will happen again in the future?"
Katniss didn't expect Sophia to say that. She glanced at Tristan, curious if he had prepared for this question in advance.
"I can promise, not just with words but with actions."
Tristan stood up, placed Evie in the stroller, and retrieved the documents Emory had delivered from the foyer.
He didn't let Emory in, considering it a serious matter. Having Aaron as a witness was enough; adding Emory would likely cause chaos.
"This is the share transfer notice for Zenith Group. This is all my property, and I've signed it all over to Katniss unconditionally."
He placed the documents in front of Katniss. "Take a look. There's no forgery. Once you sign and get it notarized by a lawyer, it will take effect immediately. After that, I will have nothing, and everything will be yours."
Katniss was stunned by his preparations, shocked that he would transfer Zenith Group to her.
"No..." Sophia was taken aback. "That's not what I meant. I didn't ask you to give all your assets to Katniss!"
"This is my voluntary decision. It's my sincere guarantee to you, and it has nothing to do with you." Tristan sat back down and immediately picked up Evie.
He looked at Katniss and Sophia with genuine seriousness.
Clearly, it was a well-thought-out decision, given that he had everything prepared.
Katniss looked at Sophia.
Sophia quickly averted her gaze. "I spoke out of turn. You handle it as you see fit."
She had nothing more to say, feeling quite embarrassed for pressuring Tristan into this.
"We'll discuss this later." Katniss pushed the documents back to Tristan. "Let's eat first."
Tristan decisively pushed them back. "We can't discuss this later. I've already shown my determination. You should accept it confidently."
He fixed his gaze on Katniss, stubbornly insisting she sign now.
"No," Katniss said helplessly. "It's one thing for you to give me your assets, but why give me the shares of Zenith Group? It will make managing Zenith Group very inconvenient for you in the future."
Without the support of shares, communicating with the other shareholders would be at a disadvantage.
Tristan responded matter-of-factly, "My injury will take at least two to three months to heal, but Zenith Group can't go unmanaged. If you take the shares now, you can manage Zenith Group."
"One White Corporation is enough to keep me busy. In the future, The Astor Corporation will also be under my name. How will I have time to manage Zenith Group?"
"You only need to oversee Zenith Group. The team will handle everything, and there's also Ryan. If you feel overwhelmed, we can forgo White Corporation and The Astor Corporation. Nothing is more important than your health, and Zenith Group is family-owned."
Tristan spoke confidently, having planned everything out.
But regardless of his plans, he indeed needed time to recover.
During this period, Zenith Group did need someone to oversee it.
However, helping him manage for a while and transferring the shares to her name, making it her company, were two different concepts.
He might never manage the company again!
"Let's eat first. After breakfast, we'll go to the hospital for a check-up. If we delay, we won't be back by noon." She decisively placed the documents on the sideboard and started eating.
Tristan wasn't in a hurry. "Alright, let's eat while it's hot."
Meanwhile, Sophia noticed the weather outside wasn't as good as when the sun first came out. "The weather will get cooler soon. We should get more clothes for Evie. I'll go with you to the mall near the hospital to buy clothes for Evie."
Given Katniss and Tristan's current situation, it wasn't suitable to take Evie around, avoiding anyone discovering her existence.
"Okay," Katniss said. "Aaron can take care of Evie while we go quickly."
She needed to find time to talk to Tristan about what he was planning.
Aaron didn't expect Eudora to show up while Katniss took Tristan to the hospital for a check-up.
At that moment, he was holding Evie in one arm and teasing her with Tristan's teething toy in the other.
Thinking it was something Tristan and Katniss had forgotten, he didn't ask who it was and opened the door directly.
Both he and Eudora were stunned.
Aaron was holding the baby skillfully, and the baby was very affectionate, laughing with crescent-shaped eyes.
Her chubby little hands waved constantly, occasionally making simple sounds.
"What are you doing here?" Aaron's tone was harsh, instinctively trying to close the door.
Eudora held the door open. "I asked you to find time for a meal, but you didn't respond, so I had to come here."
Aaron, afraid of hurting the baby with too much force, didn't dare to push hard, allowing her to come in.
"Whose baby is this?"
