Chapter 411 Thank You
"You should be grateful that I was scared for a while; otherwise, you wouldn't even have the life you have now."
Katniss glanced around the messy room. "Let's make a deal. Tell me where Sam is, and I won't take this to the police."
Eudora threw the item back on the table. "Why are you looking for Sam?"
She stood up and stared at Katniss, "What? You want to kill Sam to avenge Tristan? But even if you do, Tristan won't come back! And you'll end up in jail!"
It sounded like persuasion, but just thinking about the scene made Eudora's blood boil with excitement, "If you really do that, I don't care if you take this to the police. We can still be friends in prison!"
She seemed a bit crazy, probably because her current situation left her with no desire to live.
"You've lost completely. Don't think you can drag me down to hell with you." Katniss's gaze was distant, her tone cold. "Tell me, where is Sam?"
"I don't know where he is, but he's been asking me about you." Eudora sat back down. "He seems very interested in you. Do you need me to tell him you're looking for him?"
Katniss wasn't sure if Sam would hide even deeper if he knew she was looking for him, nor did she understand why Sam was asking Eudora about her.
"No need." Katniss refused, finally picking up the documents on the table, "Wait for the law to punish you."
With that, she turned and left.
Katniss got back in her car and ordered someone to monitor Eudora's phone, then sent the evidence of Eudora killing her parents to the police.
As soon as she left, Eudora couldn't smile anymore.
The cigarette between Eudora's fingers burned slowly, and it wasn't until the pain from the burn reached her fingers that she snapped out of it.
She quickly threw the cigarette into the trash can and put her hand under the faucet.
The pain in her fingers spread throughout her body, and the cold water from the faucet wasn't enough to make her feel any better.
Suddenly, she got angry and swept the dishes off the stove onto the floor.
The sound of breaking porcelain was particularly clear in the room, and the shards scattered at Aaron's feet as he walked in.
He looked coldly at the crazed Eudora, "How many times have I bought you new dishes? Next time, I'll get iron ones."
"What are you doing here again?" Eudora said irritably, "To see how miserable I am? Now that Katniss has your back and you're living at school, are you feeling smug?"
Aaron threw his backpack on the sofa and started tidying up the table. "I'm not as bored as you think."
Although Katniss arranged for him to live at school and gave him a card, he still lived frugally and worked to earn money.
During that time, he even gave Eudora some living expenses.
As for the money Eudora got from selling the villa, she had long squandered it.
When Aaron came over that time, she had already been hungry for two days.
While tidying up, he suddenly saw a piece of paper on the floor. It was a printed chat log, and although he couldn't tell who it was, it was clear that someone had hired a truck to kill their own parents.
Before he could react, Eudora quickly snatched the paper, tore it up, and threw it in the trash can.
"What is this?" Aaron thought of his parents' car accident, and his expression became serious. "I asked you, what is this!"
"You're a genius. Can't you guess what it is?" Eudora admitted, "When they sold me to the Forbes family and counted the money, they deserved to die! They ruined my life!"
Aaron had always been distant from his parents because of Eudora.
So he had always stayed with his grandmother and had little impression of his own parents, but he never imagined that his parents' death was related to Eudora."Eudora, you're a devil! You impose your pain on everyone. You caused Tristan to go missing, you made Katniss sad, and you even killed your own parents!"
Although he didn't agree with Eudora's actions, he had some sympathy for her because her experiences were too tragic.
So even if he didn't agree, he still took care of her as much as he could.
But now, Eudora had completely shattered his view of humanity. Not just ruthless, but downright evil!
"Isn't it all because of you!" Eudora's voice became sharp, "If you hadn't sided with that bitch Katniss, I wouldn't have ended up like this. If I didn't have this fate, I wouldn't have hurt Tristan! I wouldn't have become so evil."
"You're simply unreasonable!" Aaron threw down a sentence, grabbed his backpack, and left.
His sister killing their parents became a barrier in his heart.
He pushed his bike and sat in the park until late at night, even after the school had closed.
Donna, riding her bike home, spotted the familiar figure in the park.
She walked over slowly and confirmed it was Aaron.
"Aaron, what are you doing here?"
As soon as she spoke, she saw several empty beer bottles at Aaron's feet.
"You've been drinking? How could you drink!"
She quickly walked over and looked down at Aaron, who was already drunk, his face flushed.
Donna was scared, "I'll take you home. You can't stay like this!"
"Leave me alone. Everyone, leave me alone." Aaron wanted to go back to the time when it was just him and his grandmother.
Back then, there were no parents, no sister, and his grandmother would take him to and from school and make his favorite food.
Seeing him like this made Donna's heart ache, and she didn't know what to say, so she just stayed with him silently.
Not far away, Eudora watched Donna appear and a smile slowly formed on her lips.
After a while, seeing Aaron lying motionless on the bench, she walked over.
"Aaron, wake up!" Donna was getting anxious and was about to call Daniel for help.
Eudora walked over and said, "Are you Aaron's classmate?"
Donna looked up and found Eudora familiar, "You are..."
"I'm his sister. He's been under a lot of stress from studying lately, and I couldn't persuade him. How about this, can you help me take him to the hotel over there?" Eudora pointed to a nearby hotel, "My house is a bit far, and with the bike, we can't make it back."
"Okay." Donna immediately agreed, locked her bike, and helped Eudora carry Aaron across the street to the hotel.
The distance wasn't far, but Aaron was heavy, and Donna was exhausted. After getting Aaron to the hotel and onto the bed, she collapsed on the side.
Suddenly, a bottle of water appeared in front of her. She looked up to see Eudora handing it to her, "Thank you. Have some water."
"Thank you." Donna, sweating profusely, took the water and drank a couple of sips, watching Eudora take off Aaron's shoes and cover him with a blanket.
After resting for a bit, Donna stood up to leave, but suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed onto the bed.
