Chapter 349 Either Have an Abortion or Give Me the Child

There was no noise now, but they must have fought.

"Probably about Eudora. I'll go talk to him later."

Aaron seemed rebellious on the surface, but in reality, he was so considerate it was heartbreaking.

After a while, Tristan came downstairs, took Evie from Katniss's hands, and casually mentioned, "Make some time to go to the hospital tomorrow. Nicholas became a dad."

Katniss hadn't seen Saskia in a long time because Saskia said she was as fat as a pig and refused to leave the house.

She had been so busy lately that she forgot Saskia's due date was around these days.

"It's a boy." Tristan kissed Evie, his expression full of schadenfreude.

"Who gave birth?" Katniss suddenly asked.

Tristan was taken aback and answered, confused, "Of course, Saskia did."

Katniss smiled, "So Saskia had a son. I thought Nicholas had a son. Not as good as the daughter you had."

She stood up, straightened her slightly wrinkled shirt, and went upstairs to find Aaron.

"Evie was born by Katniss," Sophia reminded Tristan. "No matter how proud you are of Evie in front of others, remember, without Katniss, there would be no Evie."

These days, Katniss's jealousy of Evie was visible to the naked eye, and Sophia had noticed it.

Evie, in Tristan's arms, suddenly kicked her legs, as if agreeing with Sophia.

Dad, you're being biased. Mom's unhappy. How can we get along happily in the future?

In Aaron's room, only a dim light was on. Katniss knocked and entered after getting a response.

In the dimly lit room, Aaron was sitting by the window. When he saw her, he got up and turned on the indoor light.

"Katniss, you're back?"

"Yes, you've been in a strange mood these past two days. What's wrong?" Katniss asked as she walked up to him.

After a long silence, Aaron looked up at her and said, "I've thought about it. Once the three days are up, I'll go to Eudora's. Anyway, I'll be living on campus when I go to college, so there's no need to make her unhappy. But the money I spent from you, I'll pay it back myself in the future. I don't want to owe her."

So that Eudora wouldn't use it against him, arrange his work, and dictate his future.

"If this is a decision you've made after careful consideration, I respect it. If you're worried about causing me trouble, I can tell you very clearly, you don't need to leave at all."

Katniss sat down beside him. "Given my current status, Eudora would find it hard to trouble me."

She was no longer the old Katniss, always cautious.

"It's not about causing you trouble. I just think that since this problem can be easily solved, there's no need to make a big deal out of it. Don't worry, I'm not that self-sacrificing." Aaron joked, trying to comfort Katniss.

The conversation went smoothly, and Katniss soon came out of Aaron's room.

When she returned to her room, Tristan had just come out of the bathroom, and Evie was on the bed, chewing on a teething stick Tristan had made.

"The bathwater is ready." He leaned against the wall, glanced at Evie, and after a moment of thought, said, "How about I take Evie downstairs and let Ms. Stuart watch her for a while, and I'll help you bathe?"

Katniss instinctively covered her chest with both hands, "No need."

"You've worked hard all day. It's only right that I help you." Tristan said matter-of-factly. "I can also provide back scrubbing, massages, and body lotion services."

In the past, without Evie, he would indeed arrange these services for her.

Now, it's not that his mind was entirely on Evie, but he felt that if he took good care of Evie, Katniss could work with peace of mind.

Taking a deep breath, Katniss walked over to him, leaned into his arms, and pressed her body against his.

She wrapped her arms around his strong waist and looked up, saying, "I'm not jealous, just think that sometimes you do focus a bit too much on Evie."

These days, Emory had been complaining to her on Facebook every day that Tristan wouldn't let him, the godfather, see his goddaughter!

Ever since they acknowledged their father-daughter relationship, he hadn't seen his goddaughter in a long time!

He was seriously protesting.

She thought Tristan was being excessive. Back when they were abroad, it was indeed thanks to Emory and his mother.

However, saying he was excessive might be an exaggeration, as he had let Natalia in but left Emory outside!

Tristan's well-defined hand rested on Katniss's lower back and said, "When you're not here, Evie can't go out. If I don't focus on her, how can I control my longing for you?"

These words were very effective. Katniss's ears turned red, and she stood on tiptoe to plant a kiss on his cheek.

"About the Zenith Group shares..." She took the opportunity to try to push away the Zenith Group shares.

Which was equivalent to pushing away his entry into the family, pushing away his desire to strike, and pushing away the idea of her making money to support the family!

But Tristan swallowed her words. He held Katniss's hand with his other hand, not letting her escape, and firmly blocked her words.

Evie's big eyes on the bed stared at them, her innocent and naive gaze reflecting the two of them hugging, unable to see anything else.

She suddenly kicked her little legs and moved her tiny arms, a bit excited, tilting her head to see what they were doing.

Katniss pushed him away, turned, and went into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

Tristan went back to the bed, picked up Evie, and placed her on his chest, kissing her little face.

"Good girl, Daddy loves you as much as he loves Mommy."

Evie seemed to understand and smiled adorably at him.

"But you need to go to bed early, or Daddy won't like you anymore..." He said as he made her formula and patted her legs to lull her to sleep.

Evie going to bed early meant Katniss could sleep in.

However, visiting Saskia at the hospital was better done in the morning.

Around ten, she reluctantly got up, had a bite to eat, and caught up on sleep in the car.

She dozed off for about half an hour and, after getting out of the car, nestled into Tristan's black coat as they strode into the hospital.

Saskia's mother and Ellen had taken the newborn for a basic check-up, leaving only Saskia and Nicholas in the room.

Seeing Saskia, who looked like a different person on the hospital bed, Katniss instantly woke up.

Saskia, who used to be skinny with a neat short haircut, now had enough hair to tie into a ponytail.

She had visibly gained weight, especially in her face.

"Look at her expression," Saskia said, meeting Katniss's surprised gaze for a few seconds before turning to grab Nicholas's arm and pinching it hard. "She thinks I'm ugly and fat!"

Nicholas yelped because Saskia's action was so quick, he couldn't hold back.

Realizing what happened, he quickly quieted down, "Impossible, my wife is the slimmest. Don't cry, you look beautiful. Women who have given birth are the most attractive!"

He then turned and winked at Katniss.

Katniss let go of Tristan and walked over, saying seriously, "You have gained some weight, but it looks better. You have the aura of a mature woman now, and the glow of motherhood. I'm just like you, how could I dislike you?"

"But you were never fat," Saskia let go of Nicholas, pouting and almost crying, "I'm over fifty pounds heavier than before I got pregnant."

That was quite a difference. Katniss had only gained thirty pounds during her entire pregnancy and returned to her pre-pregnancy weight within a month after giving birth.

"I didn't look great right after giving birth either, but for the sake of the baby, it's all worth it. Once the baby is a bit older, we can lose weight together, can't we?"

She felt that Saskia's mood was off and spent a long time comforting her, but Saskia remained sullen.

Ellen and Saskia's mother returned with the baby, and Katniss exchanged a few polite words.

Tristan and Nicholas, finding it inconvenient to stay, went out to find a place to chat.

Previously, because of Bella, Saskia's mother hadn't been very friendly to Katniss.

Now, with the drastic change in status, Saskia's mother was very uneasy, speaking with deliberate flattery.

Ellen also chimed in with a few compliments about Katniss, making her feel uncomfortable.

"Don't worry about the past."

She exchanged a few pleasantries and found an excuse to leave the room.

The hallway was filled with people walking around, and the occasional sound of a baby crying could be heard. Katniss didn't see Tristan or Nicholas.

They probably found a quiet place to avoid the hassle.

She planned to sit in the garden for a while, but as she reached the hospital lobby, she saw Benjamin striding away.

He was walking quickly and didn't see Katniss, with his assistant following behind, listening to his instructions.

She then remembered that Benjamin had brought Hazel to the hospital as well.

So, where was Hazel now?

Unable to resist, she asked a nurse in the inpatient department for Hazel's room number.

There were several bodyguards outside Hazel's room, all of whom recognized Katniss. "Ms. Grey."

"Is Ms. Carter inside?" Katniss asked.

The bodyguards nodded, "Yes, but Mr. White instructed that no one is allowed to enter."

"Then I'll call him." She took out her phone and dialed Benjamin's number. He answered after just a couple of rings. "I'm at the hospital. Can I see her?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end before Benjamin said, "Last night, when I brought her here, I ran into the Adams family. I talked to Nora, and because of her health, she can't have children. So you should persuade Hazel to either have an abortion or give birth and hand the baby over to me, severing all ties with her."

"I'm just here to see her, not to clean her neck for you to cut."

Such cruel words made Katniss's heart ache.

How could she bring herself to say that to Hazel?

"Then just go see her." Benjamin hung up the phone.

The bodyguards stepped aside and opened the door to the room.

Hearing the noise, Hazel immediately got out of bed, grabbed a water cup from the table, and threw it on the ground. She picked up a sharp piece of glass and held it to her neck.

"Don't come any closer!"

Her voice sounded like the last desperate cry of a frightened bird, filled with despair.

When she saw it was Katniss, she paused but didn't put down the glass shard. "Are you here to persuade me for him?"
