Chapter 378 But I Have a Condition
Katniss tilted her head up, her chin resting on Tristan's chest, all her strength supported by him.
"It's okay..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Tristan smelled the disinfectant on her, "Did you go to the hospital? What's wrong?"
He pulled her out of his embrace, looking her over from head to toe, and finally, still not reassured, lifted her clothes.
Seeing a red-purple bruise on her elbow, his face tightened, his eyes extremely serious, "How did you get hurt?"
"I've already applied medicine, and it's just a minor injury." Katniss, seeing his worried and slightly angry expression, recounted the incident with Aaron from start to finish.
During this time, Tristan had already pulled her to sit on the sofa, fetched a hot towel, and gently pressed it on her elbow.
"No matter what happens in the future, always prioritize your safety." His tone was still filled with concern.
But he also knew that this time was an accident, so he didn't blame her.
She leaned her head on the back of the sofa, her body turned sideways as Tristan held her elbow and applied the hot compress, the warmth seeping through her skin and into her blood.
A warm current flowed into her heart, and she moved closer to him, pulling her arm out, "It's okay now, let me lie down for a while."
Katniss lay on his lap, basking in the sun, her eyes half-closed.
About two hours later, she had fallen asleep when Sophia returned with Evie.
Sophia's expression was a bit strange, but Katniss, still groggy, didn't notice anything and played with Evie on the crawling mat.
During dinner, she mentioned Odette's situation to Sophia.
Sophia became very anxious upon hearing this, "How could something so serious happen, and we're only finding out now? I should go to the hospital to see her, otherwise, it would be very rude."
Even if Matilda and George didn't have that relationship, she had known Odette for many years.
When she was sick, Odette would visit her in the hospital every now and then.
Just for the sake of that friendship, she had to visit the hospital.
"Mom." Katniss had to tell her the truth, "Odette's hospitalization was an accident; she's been in a coma, but it's said that she woke up once and only said one thing, which was for George to marry his childhood fiancée. This kind of illness can't be stimulated, let's give the Russell family some time."
"Can't I just not talk about their matters?" Sophia asked tentatively.
Seeing that she wanted to go, Katniss could only say, "It's not about talking or not talking about their matters, it's that at this stage, what they need is not a visit. Their minds are all on whether Odette will wake up. If you want to see her, wait until she wakes up."
If she went now, George wouldn't have the mind to entertain her.
Brian would certainly be even less spirited, and although they had a good relationship, it wasn't so good that they would visit before she woke up.
It would make them feel awkward.
"Then... just as well, I'll move to Matilda's place starting tomorrow, I'm worried about her." Sophia, thinking of the rumors she heard when she took Evie out earlier, took the opportunity to suggest leaving.
Katniss, seeing her speak so decisively as if she had been prepared, was stunned for a few seconds. "Matilda is at the hospital now, Aaron's foot is injured, and Matilda is taking care of him."
"Why are there so many things happening?" Sophia sighed with a frown and quickly asked, "How is the child injured? I'll make some soup later and visit in the afternoon."
Saying this, she had already stood up and gone to the kitchen to start preparing dinner.
In the end, she still prepared two extra dinners for the Russell family and went to the hospital before dinner time.
Recently, there had indeed been a lot of things happening, so Katniss arranged for Aaron to stay at the school dormitory without further ado and gave him a bank card for his living expenses.
Aaron didn't resist, and after staying in the hospital for three days, he was discharged and directly packed his luggage to stay in the dormitory.
There was also news from Odette's side; she was out of the intensive care unit, but the doctors were still unsure when she would wake up.
However, George had arranged to meet Matilda at the hospital next week to discuss their matters with Brian.
"Tomorrow, Zenith Group will hold a press conference, meeting the media for the first time. I'll accompany you to attend." During dinner, Tristan told Katniss about the situation with Zenith Group.
Finally, he added, "I plan to make Synergy Global Corporation a subsidiary of Zenith Group. With Zenith Group's support, Synergy Global Corporation won't need to be managed separately, and it will eventually regain its former glory. Anything related to Synergy Global Corporation, you can leave to Ryan."
He was afraid Katniss would be overworked.
Now, White Corporation was thriving and developing steadily. With Benjamin's help from the Adams family, he had already established himself in the White family.
With enough energy to manage White Corporation, and with Samuel's assistance, Katniss had the energy to manage Zenith Group.
But she glanced at Tristan, who planned not to work, and still unwillingly said, "Do you plan to stay home and take care of Evie in the future?"
"I married into your family, it's not good to be too high-profile." Tristan frowned slightly, talking nonsense with a serious face, "Otherwise, people might think I'm after your family fortune, and that wouldn't be good."
Katniss rolled her eyes, finished her last bite of food, and suddenly smiled, "Then from Monday to Friday, I work very hard, you can't touch me. On Friday, I work all day and am very tired, so that's also not allowed. On Monday, I have to go to work, so to have enough energy, I need to maintain good sleep on Sunday night. Youcan't touch me."
This way, Tristan would rest for six days and work for one.
His expression immediately changed, "You... want to suffocate me?"
"Do you want to exhaust me?" Katniss elegantly wiped her mouth, stood up, and patted his shoulder, "Besides, taking care of Evie is very tiring, I would feel sorry for you."
After saying this, she went to the living room and took Evie from Sophia's hands. "Mom, you might need to take care of Evie tomorrow morning, Tristan and I have something to do, he'll be back by noon."
"Okay." Sophia agreed readily.
In the spacious villa, a dim light was on.
Eudora sat on the sofa, in front of her was a bowl of instant noodles.
She held the key Aaron had left behind. was this his way of saying he wasn't coming back?
With Katniss backing him, Aaron was now thriving at school, eating well, drinking well, and dressing well, right?
She pursed her lips, looking down at the instant noodles she had eaten several times, even the smell made her want to vomit.
"Aaron, I'll make you understand sooner or later, Katniss is nothing! She will end up worse than me!"
She threw the key, making a crisp sound, and quickly dialed a number on her phone, "Sir, I've prepared everything, but I have one condition."
"Making conditions with me?" The other party's light tone carried a bit of disdain, and a hint of excitement, "You have quite the nerve, let's hear it."
There was a woman's voice in the background, though faint, it could be heard, but the man didn't say anything, so Eudora pretended not to hear it.
"I want Katniss to have nothing, I want Zenith Group, Synergy Global Corporation, and White Corporation to be destroyed!"
She believed he had the ability, but whether he would agree was another matter.
