Chapter 205 Satisfy him
"Wait here for me." Tristan gently placed his hands on her shoulders, guiding her to sit on the couch, and leaned in to kiss her forehead.
Turning to Michael, he said coldly, "If you don't want to end up in jail with Bella, get out of my sight in three minutes."
Michael's eyes were icy. "Tristan, you are so heartless. No matter what, Bella grew up with you, but you..."
"I've told you before, don't mess with Katniss. But you let her cross the line. She's in this mess because of your indulgence. Don't talk to me about the past." Tristan's chiseled face was dark with anger.
When Bella came back to the country, Michael had asked him to play along. But he had made it clear that he and Bella could never be together.
Michael struggled to stand, blood dripping from his fingertips onto the floor.
The two stood face to face, the light from the dazzling crystal chandelier reflecting off them. The shards on the ground cast an unusual glow, making the room feel like a freezer.
After a long standoff, Michael couldn't hold out any longer and moved slightly towards the door. "Fine, let's wait and see."
He glanced coldly and briefly at Katniss.
Katniss's eyes were clear and calm as she watched him leave, her face showing no emotion.
Once Michael had disappeared from the room, she got up and walked over to Tristan. "Bella's been arrested?"
"She was forcibly sent to a psychiatric hospital for treatment." Tristan glanced around at the mess, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her to a cleaner spot near the entrance.
She was stunned for a few seconds and asked, "Isn't she just suffering from depression? Is that so serious?"
Without looking up, Tristan said, "When she poses a certain level of harm to those around her, she gets forcibly confined for treatment."
He had originally planned to have a doctor back home certify that Bella was not ill and send her to prison.
But the lawyer said that given the extent of Bella's psychiatric issues, she would be forcibly confined anyway, so there was no need to do anything extra.
Bella had been taken away that afternoon, and Michael couldn't stop it, which was why he came to Tristan to discuss it.
When they couldn't reach an agreement, they fought.
"I'll help you clean up." Katniss grabbed a broom and followed Tristan to help.
Aaron came running down from the second-floor corner, snatching the broom from Katniss's hand. "Ms. Grey, let me do it. I may not be good at fighting, but I can clean!"
He tried to pick up the glass shards before Tristan could, but Tristan stopped him. "Go sweep up the flower pot debris. Don't touch the glass."
Katniss stood aside, watching Aaron and Tristan clean up. In just over ten minutes, the living room looked normal again.
But the shelves were empty now, all the pots and jars shattered.
While Tristan was in the shower, Katniss got a text from Saskia: [Don't worry too much. Even if Tristan cuts ties with his dad, the Astor family wouldn't dare mess with him.]
Saskia had only taken a quick look and, seeing Michael getting beaten up, had slipped away.
Tristan could handle the Astor family, but she couldn't, so it was best to stay out of it!
[I see.] Katniss replied calmly. Tristan always thought things through. If he dared to act against Bella who was the bottom line of the Astor family, he must have been absolutely confident to do so.
The bathroom door opened.
Tristan walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist, his short hair dripping water onto his chest.
The droplets slid down his abs, disappearing into the towel.
She glanced at his body, then quickly looked away, smoothing her long hair. "I'll get your clothes."
But as she passed by him, he grabbed her wrist. "No need. I'll just have to take them off again."
His eyes were deep as he drew the curtains over the floor-to-ceiling windows, making the room feel much quieter in the dim light.
Katniss had been so busy lately that she fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow each night. On rare occasions, she had the energy to satisfy him in bed.
Tomorrow was Saturday, and she didn't have to go to the educational institution on time.
By the time Katniss realized what was happening, her ears were so red they seemed about to bleed.
Her golden hair cascaded over her shoulders, and as he pressed her onto the bed, her collar was pulled open, revealing her skin.
There were no marks, showing that he really hadn't had sex with her recently.
He leaned down to plant a light kiss on her lips, their noses touching. As their breaths mingled, his cool fingers unbuttoned her shirt.
"Grandma is urging me to bring you back." His voice was hoarse, his eyes dark with intensity.
Katniss felt a tingling sensation all over her body as he touched her, her hands naturally resting on his firm waist. "I still have some work to finish here, so it might take a bit longer. But Matilda will go to Velvet City to prepare first. We'll go back in no more than three months."
"When do you plan to introduce me to your mom officially?" Tristan's eyes were deep, and his gaze was serious.
He had waited so long, but she hadn't mentioned it at all.
"When we get back to Velvet City and my mom's better, I'll bring it up with her, and then we'll get married, okay?" Katniss looked up slightly, her glossy lips pressed together.
Tristan's body stiffened, his rough fingers threading through her hair. After a long moment, he leaned down and kissed her hard on the lips.
A hoarse murmur escaped his lips, "Okay."
This was the first time they had discussed this issue, and both were very satisfied with each other's responses and attitudes. Their deep emotions led to a night of passionate indulgence.
Throughout the night, her hazy eyes reflected his enraptured, uncontrollable expression. Her slender fingers were clasped above her head, their tightly intertwined fingers turning white at the tips.
Her voice gradually became hoarse, and she couldn't help but remind him, "I have to take Matilda to the educational institution tomorrow."
She couldn't afford to be bedridden or lose her voice.
Tristan paused, burying his head in her neck and breathing heavily. So when could she ever do nothing?
At least let him be satisfied.
Despite his unfulfilled desires, he let Katniss sleep in the next morning.
They had planned to go to the educational institution at ten, but she didn't wake up until nine forty.
Katniss got up to wash, and downstairs, Tristan had kept breakfast warm for her. Seeing her come down, he packed it up for her to eat on the way.
"Tristan is so considerate!" Aaron, who was studying in the living room, quickly chimed in.
But Katniss didn't appreciate it. She glanced at Tristan, changed her shoes, and left the house.
If he hadn't kept her up, she wouldn't need to eat breakfast on the way. Her legs were still weak, and she wasn't sure if she could drive to the educational institution.
As she got into the car, Aaron ran out, handing her a cup of milk. "You forgot this!"
"Thanks." She took it and placed it in the cup holder, quickly driving away. Aaron waved at her car before turning back to the villa.
Under the shade of a nearby tree, a man in a janitor's uniform stared intently at the scene.
Once they had all left, he quickly pulled out his phone and made a call. "Willie Reed, Aaron is really here! But it's not easy for us to get into this place; it's a high-end villa community. Okay, I know the woman's license plate number. I'll have someone outside follow her!"
Katniss picked up Matilda and headed to the educational institution. She was distracted and didn't notice anyone following them.
Matilda, feeling nervous, didn't notice anything either.
Matilda had a backend account for the online course software. When she logged in, she found that the number of course purchases had increased exponentially, making her heart race with excitement.
"Actually, your promotional work won't be too difficult. You just need to understand which courses are suitable for each grade level, offer some trial classes for students, and handle after-sales and customer service well..." Katniss explained each course to her in detail. They had lunch at the educational institution, and in the afternoon, Katniss briefed Matilda on the current market in Velvet City.
"Quickly capturing the market will be challenging. Focus on establishing a foothold first." Katniss pointed out a few suitable locations in Velvet City. "Look for a suitable shop in these areas. If you find one, secure it and hire staff. Don't try to do everything yourself; make sure you focus all your energy on promotion."
They had both lived in Velvet City for many years, and their familiarity with the city would help them establish a foothold.
So she felt comfortable letting Matilda go back alone.
As evening approached, they drove back to Whispering Pines Estate, only to encounter an unexpected person at the entrance.
Samuel stood under a streetlamp, dressed in a suit and holding a box of supplements, looking intently in the direction of the entrance.
"Mr. Bennett!" Matilda tilted her head and called out from the window.
Katniss hadn't expected to run into Samuel here. The last time they met was at the airport where she rejected his confession of love.
The sudden encounter left her unprepared and awkward. Since Matilda had already greeted him, she had no choice but to stop the car.
"What are you doing here?" Matilda got out of the car, looking pleased to see Samuel.
Katniss unbuckled her seatbelt and got out, walking over with a calm expression. "Long time no see."
Samuel smiled faintly, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Indeed, it's been a while. I've been tied up helping Mr. Astor with some matters and haven't been around. Mr. Astor and I are returning to Velvet City tomorrow morning, so I thought I'd come by tonight to see Sophia."
Their figures were particularly noticeable under the streetlamp. Tristan had just come out to take out the trash when he noticed the group at the entrance.
He narrowed his eyes, one hand in his pocket, watching for a moment. Seeing Katniss and Matilda bringing Samuel inside to see Sophia, he noticed the supplements Samuel was carrying and understood he was there to visit Katniss's mom.
His eyes darkened, and after standing still, he turned and went back inside.
The brightly lit villa became much livelier with Samuel's arrival, but Samuel could sense that Katniss was speaking very little.
