Chapter 369 I Need a Man, Go Buy One for Me

Royce was silent for a few seconds and said, "Definitely."

After this news shocked the business circle, Katniss and Tristan, the two parties involved, went home.

"Are you happy?" Katniss sat on the sofa, looking at Tristan, whose smile had never faded.

Tristan responded, playing with a stuffed toy to amuse Evie, "Of course."

Katniss was also happy. From now on, she and Tristan no longer had to sneak around; she was his wife.

"From now on, my Evie won't have to stay cooped up at home anymore." Tristan picked up Evie, his eyes filled with her adorable image.

Katniss smiled slightly, propping her arm up and looking at Tristan.

Was he just happy that everyone knew Evie was his daughter?

Was he just happy that he could openly take Evie out from now on?

She blinked her clear eyes twice, watching Tristan's sly look in front of Evie, much more cunning than when he chased her to Nightfall City.

"Katniss, shall we take her out now?" Tristan couldn't contain his excitement. "Let's go to the mall and buy her a couple of outfits?"

Katniss said, "My mom bought several sets a few days ago."

"Then let's buy her some diapers?"

Katniss, "We have enough at home to last for months."

Tristan, "What about formula?"

"We have that too."

"Then... what does she need?" Tristan really couldn't think of anything.

Katniss smiled and said, "She doesn't need anything, so there's no excuse to show off Evie."

"Do you need anything?" Tristan said, "It's changing seasons, how about buying clothes? I'll take her with us."

"I don't need clothes..." Katniss left a bit of suspense for him.

He immediately asked, "Then what do you need?"

Katniss, "I need a few men, can you buy them for me?"

"Katniss!" Tristan shouted angrily, holding Evie in one arm, but it didn't hinder his strong arm from pulling the escaping Katniss into his embrace.

The mother and daughter lay on his chest, one with big, cute eyes, the other with clear, sly eyes, full of provocative intentions.

The three of them played and laughed on the carpet all afternoon until Sophia returned from Matilda's place.

"Your news is everywhere." Sophia said while making dinner, with Katniss helping, "Matilda said several people from the education institution are asking if that Ms. Grey is you."

After returning to Velvet City, Katniss hadn't appeared much at the education institution, so those people couldn't be sure.

"How's Matilda doing lately?" Katniss hadn't received a reply to the message she sent Matilda last time, and she had been busy, so she hadn't asked how their talk went after they returned.

Sophia sighed and said, "She said... George has been very busy lately. Isn't there a competition? It's closed, so she can't reach him."

This wasn't an excuse from Matilda; she knew George had a competition recently.

She didn't want to tell Sophia about that night, after all, she hadn't waited for George to come back herself and wasn't sure what had happened.

While they were chatting, Tristan's phone suddenly rang. Katniss took Evie from his hands, and he went upstairs to answer the call.

The study was dark, with moonlight streaming in, barely illuminating the room.

He stood by the window, swiping the screen to answer the call, and Emory's annoying voice came through, "If I say congratulations, you won't think I'm mocking you for marrying into the family, right?"

"No." Tristan leaned against the edge of the desk, calmly saying, "The matter I asked you to investigate has been so long, and there's still no reply?"

"Of course there is, do you think I'm here to congratulate you for taking over my goddaughter?" Emory sneered, then his voice turned serious, "Sam's father is more complicated than we thought. Some clues led abroad and then disappeared."

The atmosphere gradually became tense. Tristan frowned, "That's it?"

Emory quickly added, "Of course not, I'm very capable. Even though it was difficult, I found out some things. He seems to be a shady person, and I guess he wants to use the Forbes family to clean up his son's image. After all, he can't stay in the shadows forever."

Emory didn't know much about this kind of thing, but he knew someone who did.

He called his ex-wife's brother to ask, who was a police officer abroad."But since you expelled Travis from the Forbes family, their plan is ruined, and there won't be any more ties. That person will quickly find another target, but who knows if he's vengeful?"

After a long time, Tristan pinched his brow and said coldly, "Keep an eye on those people, and contact me immediately if there's any movement."

"I've been watching them all along, don't worry." Emory confidently took on the whole matter, "For you, I've been pestered by my ex-wife again. You owe me when I get back."

Tristan sneered, "Isn't that what you've always dreamed of? Why pretend?"

Emory shouted on the other end, "Tristan, you heartless guy, now that you have Katniss, you don't care about me anymore? Who was it that promised not to leave me alone when we started the venture capital company..."

The response he got was a busy signal. He cursed, then hung up the phone, booked a flight back to Velvet City, and swore he would kiss Evie in front of Tristan as punishment.

Synergy Global Corporation fell back into Tristan's hands, and the first notice he issued was to fire Eudora. The notice arrived before he did.

When she received the notice, Eudora was called by Michael to a bar in a deep alley, where people came for more than just drinking.

Michael, sitting with a group of poorly dressed men and women, seemed like a different person, so much so that Eudora found him unrecognizable.

She realized after sitting there for a while that Michael had called her over not to accompany others, but to accompany him.

"The women here are much dirtier than you," Michael whispered in her ear. "Although I found many men, at least none of them had any diseases."

But the men and women here were not guaranteed to be clean.

Comparing her to the women here, she gritted her teeth and retorted, "Just because they don't have diseases, does that make them clean? Michael, you're a bastard!"

Michael sneered, not even drinking the wine at his lips, and suddenly pulled her close, pressing the glass to her mouth.

The rim of the glass hit Eudora's teeth, causing a sharp pain.

"I'm a bastard? A bastard is better than a vicious woman like you. Don't act like you're so noble."

Eudora gritted her teeth and cursed him, "Michael, if I had known you were this kind of man, I would have cut ties with you long ago. Your affection for me is a disgrace!"

Michael's expression changed slightly, becoming increasingly grimmer. "Disgrace? Well said. Today, I'll show you how lowly you are in the face of disgrace! Drink!"

He forced her to drink, and Eudora had no choice but to comply.

Michael carried a phone with obscene videos of her, and if she resisted even a little, he could show them to everyone in the room... After drinking quite a bit, she received a call from the HR department, informing her of her termination.

She had been busy all afternoon and hadn't seen the news. After the call, she saw that the Forbes family had changed.

Travis had fallen from power, Tristan had inherited the Forbes family, and he had announced his marriage into the Grey family.

And, he had a daughter with Katniss!

Immediately, Eudora's blood ran cold. When did Katniss secretly have a child?

Overwhelmed with emotion, she drank the wine Michael handed her without thinking.

She didn't notice that Michael had dropped a small white pill into the wine.

Half an hour later, feeling hot all over, she was taken out of the bar by Michael, who used her ID to book a room at the hotel next door, using her card.

Once in the room, Eudora clung to Michael, wrapping her arms around his neck and standing on tiptoe to kiss him.

He turned his head away, avoiding her. His body reacted, but what Eudora had done to Bella was a barrier in his heart.

No matter how much he loved Eudora, he couldn't touch her, or he would feel he was betraying Bella.

He pushed Eudora away, turned, and went outside to find a half-asleep beggar on the street, giving him the room card.

In the morning, Eudora woke up to a foul smell. Opening her eyes, she saw a stinking beggar lying next to her, and she was stunned.

On the vast ocean, a luxurious cruise ship sailed against the wind, and a man standing at the bow spread his arms, breathing in the fresh air.

After half an hour at sea, he returned to the island.

The man sighed deeply, "If my son were stuck on this island, unable to spend his money, it would be a real shame. Go call Ivy and ask how things are going over there."

"No need to check, the news is out." A servant handed over a tablet, showing the news of Travis being expelled from the Forbes family and Sam being removed as well.

As the man finished reading, Ivy's call came through, "You still have the heart to go sailing? There's a problem here!"

Hearing this, the man's eyebrows raised, "Isn't that your concern? You assured me that the plan was foolproof and that you would arrange an identity for my son."

"But I didn't expect..." Ivy gritted her teeth, too angry to speak.

She had hoped that since she conceived Sam before Travis's car accident, the Forbes family wouldn't demand a paternity test.

But with the Forbes family now questioning Sam's origins, she had to keep quiet.

"The method you suggested is time-consuming and laborious. Although it legitimizes everything, my dear son doesn't like it. Let's do it my way. It may not be clean, but it ensures no evidence is left behind," the man said firmly.

Ivy was reluctant. She had been in the Forbes family for so many years and had come to see it as her own, unwilling to let go.

"Don't worry, I'll help you vent your anger on the Forbes family," the man reassured her.

After a few words, she agreed.

After hanging up, the man tossed the phone aside and instructed the servant, "Send the newly developed drug to Eudora. I like her ruthlessness; she will help me test if the drug is successful."
