Chapter 303 You Guys Made Me Really Angry

White Corporation owns a hotel, a brightly lit building with over a dozen floors.

A red carpet was laid out from the hotel entrance to the street, where vehicles arriving for the welcome banquet were parked, and numerous business celebrities were getting out of their cars.

The so-called welcome banquet for Katniss was actually a gimmick, mainly to prove to the outside world that White Corporation had made significant progress!

The entire hall was enveloped in dazzling and intricate lighting, with most of the attendees being men in suits.

Occasionally, a few women were also dressed in business attire, making the atmosphere of tonight's banquet unmistakably business-like.

Katniss was dressed in a black women's suit, with her neat shoulder-length hair tucked behind her ears.

Her slightly wavy hairstyle added a touch of sexiness and playfulness, but her clear eyes exuded wisdom and sharpness.

It was tonight that she saw Benjamin for the first time in a while, and he had also acquired a bit more of a businessman's aura.

The former gentleness and elegance were gone, replaced by a cunning and sly demeanor.

These words described him perfectly, and it wasn't that Katniss was using inappropriate terms.

She and Samuel walked alongside Benjamin, drawing the attention of everyone they passed.

There were whispers and murmurs, and many people recognized Katniss, Tristan's former assistant and nearly his wife.

Most of the people in this hall had seen Katniss before, back when she was a compliant assistant by Tristan's side.

Now, she was by Benjamin's side, but no one dared to say she was just one of Benjamin's subordinates!

She was Benjamin's partner!

Many people had witnessed her work capabilities, her unique insights, and her thorough analysis of any situation.

Back when she was with Tristan, many people wanted her to work for them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the welcome banquet for our White Corporation General Manager Katniss. I believe I don't need to introduce her identity too much."

Benjamin stood on the stage, introducing Katniss to everyone, subtly hinting at her significant contributions to White Corporation's success.

His words suggested that Katniss was the one guiding him from behind the scenes, but he didn't make it explicit.

He gave Katniss enough face while not leaving any concrete evidence for the White family to target her.

For this alone, Katniss added trustworthy to the description of Benjamin's cunning and sly nature.

By the way, Benjamin also briefly introduced Samuel. After each of them said a few words, the banquet officially began.

Before Katniss could step off the stage, Samuel signaled her to look at a certain corner.

Tristan, dressed in a suit, stood there, his neat short hair making his facial features even more defined.

His eyes scanned the room, and people passing by nodded in acknowledgment.

Although they didn't approach him for small talk as they used to, no one dared to ignore his presence.

His long eyes pierced through the crowd, locking onto Katniss.

"You and Mr. Forbes, are you really not together anymore?" Samuel still had his doubts.

Even from such a distance, with just a glance, he felt a myriad of emotions spreading.

Katniss withdrew her gaze and looked at Samuel, "Drop the questioning tone."

Hearing this, Samuel smiled, the hope in his eyes dimming and then suddenly reigniting.

But he hid it well, "Let's go down. Tonight, the Runyon Corporation project, they should have a lot to discuss."

"Okay." Katniss stepped off the stage, and within a few steps, she was surrounded by people.

Travis and his two companions arrived fashionably late, worried that arriving early would result in being turned away and embarrassed.

They deliberately chose to arrive after the banquet had started. The people at the door saw their invitation and let them in without much questioning.

The entire hall was filled with a sea of people, and the three of them scanned the room for a long time without identifying the General Manager of White Corporation.

Instead, they spotted Tristan sitting in a corner, sipping wine.

They walked over and sat down next to him.

Tristan, whose gaze had been on Katniss, was displeased by this move and frowned at them.

"You have an invitation to White Corporation's event, why didn't you say so earlier? You're here for the Runyon family project too, right?"

Travis kept his voice low, thinking that since Tristan was also here for the Runyon family project, his mood was relatively good.

Tristan leaned back in his chair, and with a hint of sarcasm, said, "Here for the White Corporation General Manager? She's over there, go ahead."

Although Katniss wasn't short, she still wasn't tall enough among a group of men.

Surrounded by people, Travis and his companions couldn't see her face, only catching glimpses of a slender woman through the crowd.

"A woman?" Ivy was a bit surprised, then whispered to Eudora, "It's even better if it's a woman. You go and get acquainted first. As for discussing the Runyon family project with White Corporation, we can arrange a private meeting later."

Eudora felt a bit more confident, responded, and then walked slowly towards the crowd.

"The Runyon family project is something White Corporation has been preparing for a long time. As for the project details, once we finalize things with Mr. Runyon, he will introduce it to everyone."

Katniss couldn't steal the spotlight from Milan.

Everyone was sensible enough to only have a brief conversation about the project without pressing for more details.

"The Runyon Corporation project is enough to boost White Corporation's steady development in recent years. We must congratulate Mr. White, Ms. Grey, and Mr. Bennett. You three have truly shown us a business miracle."

Someone shifted the topic to the three of them.

Under Benjamin's black-framed glasses, his deep eyes remained calm, "You're too kind. I was fortunate to meet Ms. Grey and Mr. Bennett, which is why we have what we have today. I hope to continue working alongside them to make White Corporation even bigger."

"Ms. Grey?" Eudora squeezed in but didn't recognize Katniss from behind, though she felt a sense of familiarity.

She would never have guessed who this person was, and with a hint of uncertainty in her voice, she said, "Mr. White, Ms. Grey, I'm Eudora from Synergy Global Corporation."

"So it's Ms. Savoy."

"Ms. Savoy."

Someone greeted Eudora, then tactfully stepped aside.

White Corporation had snatched many projects from Synergy Global Corporation, making them arch-rivals.

Now that Eudora was here, she was either looking for trouble or seeking something.

Everyone watched with a spectator's attitude.

Eudora smiled at them and moved in front of Katniss, "Katniss?"

Her eyes widened instantly, "When did you come back from abroad? You..."

She realized belatedly that the so-called Ms. Grey might be Katniss!

This was impossible. How could a mere assistant, a small-time tutor, be called Ms. Grey?

"Ms. Savoy, do you need something?" Benjamin asked politely, holding a glass of red wine.

Katniss was holding a glass of juice, and after a few seconds of eye contact with Eudora, a faint smile appeared on her lips.

The arrogance in Eudora visibly diminished.

Katniss had a pretty good idea why Eudora was here today.

"Katniss, did you do this on purpose?" Eudora struggled to maintain her composure, "I went to White Corporation to see you before, but you repeatedly refused to see me!"

"Ms. Savoy, you're overthinking it," Katniss responded smoothly, "I just took on the role of General Manager at White Corporation, and I've been very busy. I didn't have time to see you. You also hold a General Manager position, so you should understand."

After she finished speaking, she raised an eyebrow and lightly shook her head, "No, Synergy Global Corporation is quite deserted now. Ms. Savoy, you probably can't understand how busy I am."

Eudora gritted her teeth, her body tense to avoid losing her composure in front of so many people.

Travis and Ivy, sitting in the shadows, also noticed something was up. They got up and walked aside, and upon seeing Katniss's face clearly, they were shocked.

After a while, Travis returned to sit next to Tristan and asked in a low, angry voice, "Tristan, did you know all along? Did you deliberately let Katniss take Synergy Global Corporation's projects?"

"You're overthinking it," Tristan said with a disdainful look, "She only recently took the position of General Manager at White Corporation."

"I don't believe it!" Travis slammed the table, "She must have contributed to White Corporation to become its General Manager. How did White Corporation snatch all those projects from Synergy Global Corporation?"

His table-slamming drew the attention of many, and Katniss also looked over.

Travis stood at the table, while Tristan sat calmly across from him.

These two didn't look like father and son, but rather fierce business competitors.

"Katniss knows me well. She knows the bottom price and core planning of the projects I target. Who can blame me for being a failure and letting her see through me?"

Tristan stood up and placed his wine glass heavily on the table, "You guys provoked her, tried to make me lose my CEO position, but couldn't handle her counterattack. This is your mess."

Now, Katniss had already secured her position at White Corporation!

Her collaboration with Runyon Corporation had made her famous, and Travis could only be anxious!

After speaking, Tristan glanced at Katniss, his eyes reflecting a starry brilliance, capturing her stunning beauty.

She stood out among a group of men, making her the only one he could see.

But he didn't say anything more. After a moment, he looked away, grabbed his coat from the chair, draped it over his shoulder, and walked away gracefully.

Eudora was a bit flustered and couldn't find the words to say to the imposing Katniss.

Seeing her state, Ivy quickly came over and pulled her away.

Things had changed, and they needed to go back and renegotiate.

Their departure didn't affect the banquet at all, which continued until it ended.

Originally, Katniss should have seen the guests off and left last.

But Benjamin knew she had a child at home, so he let her leave first.

It was a bit warm outside the hotel, so Katniss took off her jacket, wearing only a simple shirt tucked into her slacks, accentuating her slim waist.

As she walked to her car and unlocked it, she suddenly saw Tristan leaning against the hood.

The white shirt he wore reflected the moonlight, his silhouette mirrored in the car window.

Hearing the car unlock, he moved slightly and looked back at her, "Ms. Grey, need a ride home?"

"No need, and you've been drinking. How can you drive me?" Katniss paused in her action of opening the car door and stood there looking at him.

Tristan shrugged, "Then, can I trouble you to give me a ride home?"
