Chapter 296 Please Behave Properly
Eudora shivered, her expression changing suddenly. Before she could scold him, Milan spoke first.
"Oh dear, look at me. Seeing Ms. Savoy so beautiful, I forgot we were here to discuss business and touched where I shouldn't have. You won't be mad, right?"
There was no apology in his lecherous eyes, and his words carried a certain odor.
Yet, his words left no room for rebuttal. Eudora needed his help, so she had to endure it.
"Mr. Runyon, you're too kind." Eudora forced a smile.
"I'm not kidding; I'm serious." Milan guided Eudora to sit next to him.
He even deliberately pulled the chairs closer together.
Eudora cast a pleading look at Michael, hoping he would help her out.
But Michael didn't look at her. He pulled out a chair and sat down first, then called the waiter to order.
"Ms. Savoy, come here." Milan invited with a grin, showing his yellow teeth.
Seeing this, Eudora reluctantly sat down. "Thank you, Mr. Runyon."
To avoid unnecessary chatter with Milan, Eudora started discussing the project right after ordering.
"Mr. Runyon, you must be aware of Synergy Global Corporation's influence. If you hand this project to us, you'll be counting money in no time."
She boasted because this project was crucial to Synergy Global Corporation's survival.
The project wouldn't start for a few months, and during these months, all of Synergy Global Corporation's projects would be nearing completion.
If she couldn't secure this project, Synergy Global Corporation would be finished!
"This project is just a rough plan for now. I know many people are eyeing it, and I'm aware of Synergy Global Corporation's capabilities. But I need some working capital to officially start it. It's still a long way off, and it's too early to discuss it now."
With just a few words, Milan managed to delay the project by several months.
But Eudora wanted to secure the project now to make her days at Synergy Global Corporation easier.
Not only were the shareholders pressuring her, but Travis was also making it hard for her to breathe.
"Mr. Runyon, it's better to finalize some things early. If you trust Synergy Global Corporation, we can settle this now and avoid future disturbances." She hinted that no one else would bother Milan later.

"Mr. Runyon, don't be angry." Michael mediated. "Eudora doesn't do business often and it's her first time meeting you, so there might be some misunderstandings."
Hearing this, Eudora looked at Michael in disbelief. Milan had touched her thigh, and Michael should have punched him!
"Michael, what are you saying? This has nothing to do with my business experience. His behavior was inappropriate!"
Milan stood up with a dark expression. "Ms. Savoy, since you look down on me, forget it! If you don't want to cooperate, then so be it."
He grabbed his bag and left.
Only Michael and Eudora were left in the private room.
Eudora glared at Michael. "Michael, he's even more disgusting than the rumors."
"But he can help you secure your position at Synergy Global Corporation." Michael said calmly. "If you have to endure some inappropriate behavior to get the project, so be it."
He spoke seriously, and it took Eudora several minutes to realize that Michael was suggesting she endure it!
"It's just inappropriate behavior now. If I stay silent, he'll only get worse. Michael, when did you start doing business like this?"
Michael raised an eyebrow, his gaze lingering on her legs in black stockings. He tugged at his tie and smirked.
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms, his hand landing on her leg. "Did he touch here? I'll wipe it off for you."
His gentle tone somewhat extinguished Eudora's anger.
"If I have to sacrifice something to get this project, I'd rather not. I don't think you'd let me be bullied."
She wrapped her arms around Michael's neck.
Michael's hand was already moving up her leg, his eyes filled with desire. "He wouldn't dare really touch you. One, because of me, and two, because you're with Synergy Global Corporation. At most, he'd just touch you."
He touched where he shouldn't have, and Eudora's body tensed. She looked around nervously. "Stop it, there are cameras in the private room."
"Those things are just for show." Michael raised an eyebrow. "No one watches the private room monitors. It feels better in a different place, don't you think?"
It was obvious what he intended.
Eudora felt repulsed, but with the situation with Milan not progressing well, she still needed Michael to help arrange another meeting or communicate with Milan.
In the end, she didn't refuse. She locked the door of the private room, turned off the lights, and the room was illuminated by neon lights.
The compromising scene was captured by the camera in the upper right corner.
It didn't last long, but Michael was rough, and Eudora appeared somewhat submissive.
Afterwards, Michael claimed he had other matters to attend to and told Eudora to leave first.
Ten minutes later, a hotel staff member, blushing, brought over a USB drive. "Mr. Astor, here's what you requested."
Michael plugged the USB drive into a connector and played the pornographic scene on his phone.
Milan, who had just walked in, saw it all. Eudora, who acted so proud and elegant in front of him, still had to go out of her way to please Michael.
It was not bad at all in bed.
"Mr. Astor, didn't you say I should experience what it's like with a woman?"
Milan grinned lecherously. "You're so generous, giving your woman to me?"
"Without my permission, you can only get a feel." Michael turned off the phone and glanced at him. "As long as you want, you can ask her out. Just don't have sex with her yet, do whatever else you want."
He hadn't had enough of her yet. It would be too dirty to let someone else touch her.
"Alright, I'll do as you say, but I'm worried my identity will be exposed!" Milan looked anxious. "What if she finds out I'm not Mr. Runyon?"
"Just don't talk about the project. Focus on her. If she brings up the project, just say it's good and give her hope but never commit. Take advantage of her without revealing yourself."
Michael's tone was confident. After all, Milan's bad reputation was well-known.
It wouldn't make Eudora suspicious if an imposter only lusted after her beauty and avoided discussing the project.
"So when..." Milan gauged Michael's expression, "when will I get your permission?"
"I'll let you know." Michael lit a cigarette, his eyes cold.
He couldn't move against Eudora directly; causing a fallout would only make things worse.
This despicable method, though unseemly, was his only option.
The Runyon family project was also eyed by Benjamin.
He had been planning early and was discussing it with Katniss over video call.
"But Milan is a lecherous man. Now that Eudora is the general manager of Synergy Global Corporation, I'm worried if she uses her charm, our chances of success will be slim."
Katniss paused and denied it. "Eudora is proud and won't use her charm. You can have someone keep an eye on Milan."
"Your insight is impressive." Benjamin felt reassured by her words. "Good news, Samuel has resigned from The Astor Corporation. After a seven-day transition period, he can join White Corporation."
Her praise didn't stir Katniss. "What position have you arranged for him?"
Benjamin said, "I'm planning to establish a White Corporation branch in the South. He'll oversee it, and before that, he'll be the deputy general manager of White Corporation."
Katniss was silent for a few seconds before asking, "If I return as the general manager of White Corporation and you give the branch to Samuel, what will you do?"
"Do you think my goal is just White Corporation?" Benjamin chuckled, his tone firm. "I want the entire White family."
White Corporation was in Benjamin's hands, but he couldn't return to the White family.
In a prestigious family, a business leader without the family's backing wouldn't be taken seriously.
For example, now, would invitations be sent to the White family or Benjamin?
They were considered one entity, yet not.
"I'm the first son of the White family. It's only right to take back what's mine and protect the White family."
That was what Benjamin said.
Katniss didn't care what he thought or planned to do.
She just thought about it from another perspective. That was why Adelaide didn't want to fall out with Travis unless absolutely necessary, to protect the Forbes family foundation.
So, Tristan, caught in the family power struggle, even with great abilities, needed time to strategize and secure the overall situation.
"Good luck." She wished Benjamin well.
They discussed the Runyon family project in detail, but Benjamin wasn't very focused.
Katniss thought he might be tired. "If you're tired, we can continue tomorrow."
"Not tired." Benjamin replied casually. "When the Runyon family project starts, you'll be back in the country. I'll leave it to you. Why should I worry?"
For the first time, Katniss found Benjamin exasperating.
"So, thank you for your hard work. After you give birth, I'll transfer a large sum of money to you. Also..." Benjamin paused, "I hope you can rest well in the coming months. When you return, your first major task will be to compete with Synergy Global Corporation for the Runyon family project."
Katniss's sudden appointment as general manager of White Corporation would surely arouse suspicion.
Without sufficient strength, she didn't want to reveal that she was the one advising Benjamin.
