Chapter 251 Two Months, Such a Long Time

"Eudora, you gotta believe me, I didn't touch Isla! I'm still innocent, you're the only one for me!" Michael's voice was desperate. To him, Eudora was his last hope.

Everyone else could doubt him, but as long as Eudora believed him, that was all that mattered.

He clung to Eudora, and she struggled to break free, but he wouldn't let go.

She didn't care if Michael and Isla were innocent or not. What bothered her was Michael's foolishness and how he was throwing everything away.

"Let go of me, Michael!" The image of him and Isla naked in bed made her stomach churn.

Deep down, she knew Michael wouldn't do anything with Isla. He had loved her for so many years.

Her resistance finally made Michael release her. "Eudora, you don't believe me either?" he asked, his voice filled with hurt.

"I believe you," Eudora said, pushing his hand off her shoulder. "But now's not the time to talk about this. Because of you, the Astor family is in crisis. What are you gonna do next?"

Michael looked at her seriously, and after a long pause, he said quietly, "I don't want to deal with anything anymore, Eudora. I just want to be with you. Let's leave here."

Eudora's eyes widened. "What did you say? Leave?"

"Yeah." Michael grabbed her hand, holding on tight despite her attempts to pull away. "Let's go abroad, find a place where no one knows us. With our skills, we can make it work."

Samuel, watching this, was shocked by Michael's humility in front of Eudora. He couldn't believe Michael actually had feelings for her.

Eudora was supposed to marry Tristan, arranged by the Forbes family. Samuel knew that.

But if Michael wanted to be with Eudora, why was he still going against Tristan and Katniss?

If Tristan and Katniss got together, Eudora wouldn't have to marry Tristan and could be with Michael, right?

Eudora noticed Samuel was still there. Steadying herself, she said, "Michael, you can't be so reckless. If you leave, the Astor family will be ruined, and I'll be blamed."

She gave Michael a meaningful look. Understanding her silent message, Michael reluctantly let her go. "Then wait for me. Once I handle everything, I'll take you away."

"Okay." Eudora's agreement was half-hearted, with a touch of doubt.

Hearing this, Michael turned to Samuel. "Get the company's PR department on this and contact the Tudor family. We need to fix this."

"Got it," Samuel nodded and left.

"Eudora, is there something you want to say?" Michael asked directly.Eudora nodded and said, "That inn was set up by you, right? But the innkeeper's wife turned on us at the last minute. If we can get her back, maybe we still have a shot at turning this around."

That was their only hope to prove Katniss's impurity. True or not, they had to grab this chance!

Michael didn't want to get mixed up in Tristan and Katniss's mess anymore. But Eudora kept pushing, and after a few seconds of silence, he finally asked, "Eudora, do you really love me?"

By asking that, it was clear he already had doubts.

Eudora thought for a moment, then reached out, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him on the lips without hesitation.

Michael's body went rigid, but once he realized what was happening, his doubts melted away in joy.

He quickly took control, pressing Eudora against the wall, his hands roaming restlessly.

He had loved her for so long, endured for so long, he didn't want to hold back anymore!

They were in a hotel suite, temporarily turned into a press conference room.

There was a side room with sofas and tables.

The place wasn't great, and the sofa was wobbly, but an excited Michael didn't care.

He tore at Eudora's clothes, his mind focused on one thing: finding comfort in her!

Eudora was pressed onto the sofa, something poking painfully into her back.

But her resistance was quickly overpowered by Michael, and just as she was about to use the same excuse as last time, she saw him pull a condom out of his pocket.

Michael said, "I came prepared, Eudora. Give yourself to me. I belong to you, and my life is yours!"

His eyes were bloodshot, filled with desire and pent-up anger.

But his lingering rationality made him desperately seek Eudora's consent. "Eudora, I love you so much—don't you love me too?"

He gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him.

He was still useful, so Eudora only hesitated for a moment before saying, "I love you."

As soon as the words left her mouth, a searing pain made her face turn pale.

Michael couldn't control his strength, only caring about his own release, completely ignoring her first experience.

She could only bear it, knowing that Michael's resolve was already shaky. If she didn't give something in return, how could she expect to keep using him?

In late autumn, the midday sun shone through the leaves, casting dappled shadows inside the car.

Katniss was pinned down by Tristan in the passenger seat, being forcefully kissed. As soon as they left the hotel and got into the car, he started kissing her. With a mix of uncontrollable affection and a bit of domineering control, Tristan stole her breath away, only letting go when her face turned red from lack of air. His gaze lingered on her glossy, slightly parted lips.

"Are you crazy?" Her voice was accusatory but had a hint of softness.

Her delicate features had an irresistible allure, making Tristan's lower abdomen tighten.

He leaned back against the driver's seat, his head slightly raised, his Adam's apple and jawline taut, exuding an uncontrollable chaos.

"Two months; it's been so long," Tristan said, his voice filled with longing.

His possessiveness over Katniss extended beyond the bedroom into the realm of law and in front of everyone. He wanted her to become Mrs. Forbes in everyone's eyes.

Katniss lowered her gaze to the diamond ring on her finger. A ray of sunlight hit it just right, making the diamond sparkle and casting a light in her deep eyes.

She raised her hand and waved it in front of Tristan. "This proves that I'm yours."

Tristan grabbed her wrist, brought her hand to his lips, and kissed it, saying in a deep voice, "I'm going to the office to get some things, then I'll take you somewhere."

Synergy Global Corporation.

Since Katniss resigned, she hadn't been back. But the employees of Synergy Global Corporation had never forgotten her. When they saw her and Tristan walking hand in hand, they were left in stunned silence.

Tristan exuded a cold aura, and even with Katniss by his side, it didn't diminish his unapproachable demeanor. Except when he whispered something to her, his brows would soften a bit. But even that slight softness was enough to shock everyone.

Many eyes were on them, especially as they reached the top floor's executive office, where all the secretaries had gathered to watch. Katniss, in contrast to Tristan's cold demeanor, smiled and nodded at Daphne.

"Katniss!" Daphne exclaimed, unable to believe her eyes.

"Wait a moment," Katniss said, stopping before Tristan could lead her into the office. "You go get your things; I'll catch up with Daphne."

They had worked together for a long time and had a good relationship.

Tristan glanced at the crowd of people at the secretary's office door and said in a low voice, "Alright."

Seeing Katniss coming over, Daphne ran up to her and said, "You and Mr. Forbes..."

Daphne's curiosity and gossip were evident.

"We're together." Katniss couldn't help but smile.

Hearing this, the group of employees behind Daphne almost screamed.Daphne quickly scolded, "Keep it down. If Mr. Forbes hears and docks your pay, I won't help! Get back to work. I'll ask all the gossip questions for you!"

The commotion in the secretary's office caught the attention of other departments, and Daphne had to disperse everyone to avoid disrupting work.

Katniss was bombarded with questions about when she and Tristan got together and when they would get married.

"We haven't set a specific date, but it's soon. I'll let you know once it's confirmed." Katniss figured that even if she didn't say it, everyone would know soon enough.

Tristan had admitted it to the reporters in the morning, and the news would be out by the afternoon.

After chatting for a bit, Tristan came out with a file. But Katniss was engrossed in conversation with Daphne and didn't notice.

Until a secretary quietly reminded, "Daphne, Mr. Forbes is out, waiting over there!"

Katniss turned and saw Tristan by the window of the executive office, bathed in the midday sunlight.

"Katniss, you should go. We'll chat later." Daphne didn't want to delay Katniss and Tristan, so she pushed Katniss and quickly returned to work.

Their brief visit to the company caused quite a stir. Especially as lunchtime approached, people from different departments gathered to discuss the matter.

The news from the secretary's office that Katniss and Tristan were getting married was met with some skepticism.

A former colleague of Jessica's was in disbelief. "Katniss is Jessica's sister. I spoke with Jessica a few days ago, and she mentioned that Katniss might be jobless somewhere. How could Katniss possibly be marrying Mr. Forbes?"

"People have seen them together—many people," someone countered.

The person still didn't believe it. "Maybe she's trying to please Mr. Forbes to get her job back?" she said.

Their department was mid-level, and no one had seen Tristan and Katniss, so they couldn't refute the claim.

But soon, the media reported Tristan's admission of their impending marriage, along with a photo of them kissing.

Suddenly, no one doubted it anymore.

The person close to Jessica was angry. She exclaimed, "I need to ask Jessica why she kept this from me! She clearly doesn't consider me a friend!"

Saying this, the person ignored the fact that work had started five minutes ago and ran to the restroom to call Jessica.

Jessica's first reaction was to deny it. "That's impossible. How could she be marrying Mr. Forbes?"

The person responded, "Why would I lie to you? You might not hear the company gossip, but you can see the news, right? The media reported it!"
