Chapter 376 You Will Cover All His Expenses

Katniss hit the ground hard on her shoulder, her face turning pale from the pain, and her hand accidentally touched Aaron's cheek.

It was so hot that she instinctively pulled her hand back.

"What happened here?"

"Why did you fall?"

Two waiters heard the commotion and ran over. Seeing Katniss and Aaron both on the ground, they thought Aaron had knocked her over.

They immediately helped Katniss up and asked, "Miss, are you hurt anywhere? Sorry, our waiter here is a college student and might be a bit careless..."

"Don't worry about me, he passed out. He must have a fever." Katniss rubbed her painfully bruised elbow and signaled the two waiters to quickly help Aaron up.

"My car is just outside. Help him into the car, and I'll take him to the hospital."

She pointed to the car parked at the entrance, planning to gather her things and leave.

But the waiters hesitated and stopped her, "Wait, Miss, he's our employee. We don't know you, so we can't let you take him."

Katniss paused and turned back, saying, "His name is Aaron. He's an advanced student at TomorrowTech University and just turned eighteen this year. He's very sick and needs to be taken to the hospital immediately. If you delay any longer, you won't be able to bear the responsibility. If you're really worried, have someone from the store come with me."

The manager hadn't arrived yet, and the store manager hesitated for a moment before signaling the two waiters to help Aaron into Katniss's car.

"Thank you, Miss," the store manager said to Katniss, then turned and whispered, "Didn't Aaron leave his sister's phone number? Contact her immediately and tell her to go to the hospital."

One of the waiters quickly went back into the café to make the call.

Matilda, who had been disappointed after making several calls to George and Odette, was startled to see Aaron being carried out.

"There's no time to explain. You drive us to the hospital; Aaron has a fever." Katniss handed the car keys to Matilda, holding her bruised elbow, and got into the passenger seat.

The hospital wasn't far, and they arrived in just over ten minutes.

Aaron was taken to the emergency room, and Katniss informed the doctor about his foot injury, letting the doctor handle it.

After about ten minutes, the doctor came out of the emergency room.

"Don't worry too much. He has a deep wound on his foot that wasn't treated in time, causing redness, swelling, and inflammation, which led to a high fever. He probably didn't start having a fever today."

The doctor explained the situation while asking the nurse to get some fever-reducing medication and treat the wound on his foot.

"Please pay the fee."

He handed over the bill.

The store manager hesitated but didn't take it.

Katniss took it without hesitation, "Please use the best medication for him and arrange for him to stay in the hospital for a couple of days to observe the wound on his foot."

The store manager paused and said, "Let me clarify, he only works here on Saturdays. His foot injury didn't happen at the store. I don't care how you treat him, but if the hospital stay costs too much, I can't explain it to my boss."

"You don't have to pay." Matilda couldn't stand it anymore and took the bill from Katniss's hand. "Katniss, I'll go pay. You let the doctor check your arm."

With that, she turned and left.

Arranging for a hospital stay would take a lot of time.

Eudora hadn't arrived yet, and the store manager didn't feel comfortable leaving Aaron with Katniss, so she had to wait.

Katniss was taken by the doctor to have her arm checked. While the store manager was waiting outside the emergency room, Eudora hurriedly arrived.

"What happened? What's wrong with him?" Seeing the store manager outside the emergency room, Eudora quickly stepped forward to question her.

The store manager stood up from the chair and explained, "Miss Savoy, your brother has a fever, and I..."

Before she could finish, Eudora frowned tightly, "A fever is worth taking him to the hospital? And you kept calling me? What are you doing? Just give him some fever-reducing medication, isn't that enough?"

Her attitude left the store manager stunned.

Was Eudora really his sister, and Katniss just someone who knew him?

"Where is he?" Eudora asked impatiently when the store manager didn't respond.

The store manager pointed to the emergency room, "He has a wound on his foot that's inflamed. The doctor is treating it and has already given him a fever-reducing shot..."

Before the store manager could finish, Eudora waved her hand, "I'm telling you, all his expenses are your responsibility since he was brought here from your store."

Eudora wasn't being harsh because she had less than $1,000 in her bank account. Synergy Global Corporation had been struggling, and all the injected funds were used for project initiation and paying other employees' salaries.

As the general manager, Ivy didn't give her a penny beyond daily expenses.

Eudora's words were domineering and aggressive.

Even if she was in the wrong, she had to put on an air of superiority that no one could challenge.

The store manager was frustrated and finally said, "We can cover today's medication costs, but we won't pay for the hospital stay and subsequent treatment for his foot injury!"

"Who said he needs to stay in the hospital?" Eudora crossed her arms and said with a laugh, "It's just a small wound. Once his fever goes down, he can take some medication and recover at home."

She even thought about buying some iodine and bandages from the pharmacy, along with a few adult fever-reducing pills, which wouldn't cost much.

"But a lady just arranged for him to stay in the hospital, saying she knows him and wants him to stay for observation." The store manager assumed that since Katniss was so kind to Aaron, she must know Eudora and had already informed her about Aaron's condition. But..."Who arranged for him to stay in the hospital?" Eudora asked.

Katniss came out of the emergency room, her arm bruised but not seriously injured, just a sprain causing the pain.

She adjusted her sleeve and said, "I arranged for him to stay in the hospital. Don't worry, I'll cover all his expenses."

The store manager's eyes lit up, and she looked at Katniss with more kindness than before.

Unconsciously, she also looked at Eudora with a bit of disbelief.

"Miss, thank you for your understanding. But according to the law, since he passed out during work hours, I'll explain the situation to my boss and get today's medical expenses reimbursed."

"You can discuss the reimbursement with Aaron later." Katniss nodded to the store manager, "You can go back to work now. We'll take care of this."

The store manager quickly responded, "Okay, I'll leave now."

Outside the emergency room, besides Eudora and Katniss, there were a few other patients' family members waiting.

Their conversation was overheard by others.

But those waiting outside the emergency room were too anxious to laugh at them, only glancing at the two before focusing back on the emergency room door.

"Katniss, what are you showing off? Showing off that you have money now? You're arranging for Aaron to stay in the hospital? I'm his sister. Are you playing the saint here..."

Eudora felt that everyone's eyes were on her, making her feel humiliated.
