Chapter 104: Final Stage

Chapter 104: Final Stage

Nicholas

I was working on new patrol logistics when my phone started buzzing. I saw Ronald's name flash across my screen, so I picked it up.

"Ronald, I trust everything ran smoothly?

"Yes, it is. We just organized a meeting with him within the coming week to finalize everything. He is with us, I trust you have been tying up your loose ends."

"Yes, Ronald. I haven't forgotten my promise. Once I become the Alpha, Helen becomes my Luna and she will have the position that she deserves. I am a man of my word, unlike Bernard."

He was silent for a while.

"What will you do with him?"

"I am not sure yet but when the time comes, I will know what to do."

I have already thought about it, I have three options when it comes to attaining the Alpha position from Bernard. One, we duel to the death and the winner becomes the new Alpha. Two, the elders all vote to remove him from his position. Three, a hostile takeover of the Pack and I kill him.

There was also the option of him walking away alive but I knew he would not do that. He is a man of honor and pride, he would not let his birthright go that easily. I wanted to avoid bloodshed so I don't have angry Pack members on my case. I either need to duel with him or to be voted out. I am prepared for either option.

I knew I was not the most favored Pack member, many of them feared me but I was in good books with the majority of the elders in the Pack but the vote needed to be unanimous, which meant I needed some seeds of doubt to plant.

"If you weren't going to kill him, then allow me the honor. He disrespected my family and I will not stand for that, he will pay and he will pay with life." I rolled my eyes, he was so dramatic, I needed to appease him because I needed his men to complete my plan.

"Fine, if I opt not to kill him then you can do so yourself." I would never let that happen.

"Did Richard tell you what he wanted Elena for?" It had been a question I had yet to find the answer to.

"No, and I don't think he will, you know him. He is a man of secrecy but whatever he wants from her, it is probably something big and important."

That was not the answer I had been wanting. I hated unknowns and outliers and this was yet another outlier. Just when I thought it was all coming together, more puzzle pieces were added to the mix. That doesn't matter now, as long as I got what I wanted, Richard could do what he needed to with her. I just want her as far away from this Pack as possible.

"Thank you, Ronald. I will be in touch soon." I hung up.

The time was fast approaching, I could start the countdown now. Everything was coming together beautifully, the plan had already been set in motion. I had waited what felt like my whole life for this, my father had always taught me to work hard for whatever I wanted. That's exactly what I have done since childhood till this point.

Others had legs in this world, I had to crawl my way to glory. There was blood, sweat, and tears that were shed. There were countless hours awake while others were sleeping or partying. There were cold late nights and a biting cold morning.

There is a new order coming to the Crescent Wolf Pack whether people are ready or not. I stood from my desk and set out to find my sister. I needed to tell her about my plan and Richard, it is finally time. I was about to make my exit when a knock sounded at my door.

"What?"

"Son, it is me." My mother's soft voice said from the other side of the door. Immediately, I corrected myself and sat down on my chair.

"Come in." I replied, my mother stepped through the threshold, smiling sweetly at me. I hadn't seen her in the past weeks.

"Nicholas." She rounded my desk and came to kiss my cheeks.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in years."

"You have been away for quite a while, mother." I stared into her warm chocolate eyes.

There is a calming nature about my mother that just drew you in instantaneously. My mother is one of the few people in this world that I genuinely cared about, she is someone I would defend to the death.

"To whom do I owe this pleasure." The gentle smile slipped from her lips as she stared at me.

"My heart isn't settled, Nicholas. I don't feel right."

"What do you mean?" She stared dead into my eyes like she could see right into my soul.

"Promise me that you are trading on the right path. That you are not steering away from what is good." My mother always knew things before they revealed themselves. She was a psychic and she has a sixth sense about things. I needed to be very careful or she would see right through me.

"You know mother, I always do what is right." I stood from my chair.

"I need to make my rounds but I will be done early and l will come to see you before dinner." She nodded but still gave me that look.

I got my intuitiveness from my mother and ambition from my father. Together, the two were a lethal combination when used correctly and I used mine correctly. I kissed her on the cheek and set out to find my sister. I opened my mind.

'Where are you? I need to speak with you urgently.'

"I'm in my room, at home.'

I left the Packhouse and made my way to my parent's house. In less than ten minutes, I was already there. I took the steps two at a time to get upstairs. I barged through her room without knocking. I found her on the bed with a book on her lap.

"What?" She stared at me in anticipation.

"We have just closed on the final stages of the plan. Ronald spoke with Richard and we are all in agreement. Richard will help us on the invasion of the Pack, Ronald will assist me with his men."

"What?" Her eyes went wide.

"Don't look so shocked little sister, you know I am an efficient man. We are nearing the end, Doris. The time has finally come for me to take what is mine. I have waited a long time for this day."

"How long do you think it will take to have everything ready to go?" I crossed her room and went to look at the Pack lands that would soon be mine.

"I estimate at most a week. I am sure Richard has some form of patrol because I know what kind of man he is. How many warriors he has outside our borders, that I am not sure of. But they are all waiting for me to go ahead." She was silent, her eyes looked at me in wonder.

"I wanted to inform you of the details, I need to get going. I have to meet with one of the elders soon." I looked at her over my shoulder.

"I will inform you if I need anything, I need you to be ready to spring into action when the battle calls." She nodded slowly, still looking at me in wonder.

"And what will Ronald get out of this? I know Richard will get Elena but what will Ronald get?"

"Helen will become my Luna. I need a woman with the Alpha gene, she is ready and willing to mate. Bernard ruined her and Ronald is more than happy to lend his men to end Bernard Joseph." She nodded in understanding, I turned to her fully.

"Smile little sister. Our family will finally take its rightful place as the first family of the Pack. Your brother will be Alpha and you will be my Beta. Welcome to the new world order."

Whether they were read or not, I am coming and I am coming with an army behind me.
