Chapter 155: Billionaire Alpha

Chapter 155: Billionaire Alpha

Elena

We came to a stop in front of the restaurant, it is new in town and it was just opened less than a week ago. Bernard came out of the car and opened the door for me, we walked into the place hand in hand.

"Alpha, Luna." The waitress greeted us.

"Your table is this way."

We followed her closely behind, I looked around the place and realized that the majority of the staff working there were from the Pack.

"Is this run by the Pack members?" Bernard nodded.

"I gave Dan and his wife the money to start up the business. So, technically this restaurant is partly ours."

"What?"

"Majority of the wolf-owned businesses are partly owned by my family, they seek the funding and I give it to them. They buy me out and others are just happy to keep me on board." My mouth hung open.

"You never told me any of this." He shrugged like it wasn't a monumental bomb that he had just dropped.

We reached our table and he pulled out my chair like a true gentleman he is.

"Our special tonight is the sea bass." The waitress handed us the menu.

"Some will be with you shortly to take your orders."

"Thank you," I looked at her name tag.

"Rose?" She smiled and walked away from us.

Bernard looked at the menu but I was still busy going over what he had just said.

"Does this mean that you basically own this town?" He looked at me for a moment.

"Technically, yes but what is mine also belongs to the Pack. I do have a few personal investments globally though."

"So, you are like a billionaire Alpha?" He let out a soft chuckle.

"I wouldn't say that."

"How much are you worth?"

It was a blunt question but I was curious. I knew he had money but not the kind of money he described to me.

"Hundred million dollars in assets." My jaw hit the ground.

"Holy moon goddess, you are loaded."

"Technically, we are but the majority of that money is used for the Pack. I hardly touch any of it."

For someone worth that amount of money, he was sure to be humble about it. I knew he had money mainly because of how large and impressive our Pack is but one didn't get to be one of the best Pack in the Western region by being broke.

"Can we forget about this, for now, my love and just order our food? The last thing I want to do on a date with you is talk about money."

"Okay, I will drop the topic for now. So what do you want to order?" The waiter came around and took our orders.

"What drink do you want?"

"I will have a virgin strawberry daiquiri."

"And I will have sparkling water please." I made a face for his order.

"What?" He chuckled.

"Who likes sparkling water? It is like drinking acid." He threw his head back and let out a laugh.

"It's not my love but I do agree that sparkling water is not for everyone. Clearly, it is not your cup of tea." I shook my head.

My eyes wandered past my husband to someone familiar walking into the restaurant. My sapphire eyes connected with Jasper's light brown ones. He smiled when he saw me and made his way over to our table.

"Well, if this isn't a lovely surprise?"

Bernard stood from his chair and greeted his Beta in one of those men's hugs. Jasper moved towards me and kissed one of my cheeks.

"Luna, you look stunning."

"Thank you," I smiled.

"Are you meeting someone here?"

"No," he shook his head.

"I just thought I would check out the new restaurant. It is beautiful, Bernard. You have outdone yourself.'

"I am simply a silent investor. It was Dan's dream that made it what it is." Jasper nodded.

"Let me not disturb you."

"Nonsense," Bernard waved him off.

"We can't let you have dinner on your own. Please, come join us."

"I couldn't impose, you two seem like you are on a date."

"We are but we don't mind." I reassured him.

"You are our friend, Jasper. Please, join us for dinner."

After some more convincing, he finally agreed to sit with us. The waiter came and took his order as well. It didn't take long for us to be engaged in a friendly chat about why sparkling water belonged in the sewer. Jasper and I were laughing when I saw another familiar face walk into the restaurant. Doris waved at me and I signaled her to come over to our table.

"Seems like everyone is at a pulse today." I stood up and hugged her.

"Hi, Doris."

"Hi, Elena." She returned my hug and then pulled away.

"Alpha, Jasper." Both of them nodded at her in response. Jasper however had this glint in his eyes but as quickly as it came, it faded away.

"Are you meeting someone?" She shook her head.

"No, I just wanted to check out this new place. I heard that their food is to die for."

"Yes, it is." I beamed.

"You should join us, I insist."

Her eyes went to Jasper for a short second before she nodded. There was something going on here, I just knew it. From what Bernard had told me, Jasper had taken Doris home the night of my bridal shower. Maybe something had gone on between them, I knew it was none of my business but I loved and I also wanted everyone to experience a fraction of what I was experiencing with Bernard. Besides, they look great together, a true power couple.

Doris sat beside Jasper, I was already feeling my little cupid wheels turning.

'My love, I can feel your thoughts from here. What's going on?" His voice rang in my head, I looked at him with a smile on my face.

'l think Jasper and Doris like each other.'

'No, they don't, my love. Jasper made it abundantly clear that he wanted nothing to do with women for the next ten years.' I rolled my eyes, he may have said that but sometimes it takes one special someone to turn everything around.

"So, Jasper, do you have a special woman in your life?"

I was going right in there, there is no point in beating around the bush. He nearly choked on the wine that he was drinking. Doris patted him on his back to help him out.

"Sorry," he cleared his throat.

"No, I don't have anyone at the moment."

"Are you perhaps searching, maybe?"

"I don't need to search," his eyes drifted to Doris for a quick second. One would have missed it if they weren't paying attention but I was.

'l told you!' I mind linked Bernard.

'But that proves nothing, now stop meddling.'

I should have listened to my husband, I wanted to help these two. I knew them both pretty well and they were both stubborn. They just need a little nudge in the right direction.

"Will you perhaps be in the market for a special someone somewhere in the near future?"

The waiter chose the exact moment to serve our food. Jasper's shoulders sagged a little in relief and Doris looked a little agitated. Her food came shortly after ours and we all began eating our meals. I didn't want to be nosy but I knew that something was there. I just needed confirmation from one of them.

After food, Bernard and Jasper ordered dessert while Doris and I opted out. I don't need anything else, I have early morning training with Bernard tomorrow.

"Doris, can you escort me to the restroom?" I didn't give her the chance to answer, I was already heading to the restroom and I knew she would follow.

'Elena, stop meddling.' his voice echoed in my head.

I wasn't meddling, I was simply gathering necessary Intel from a friend. Besides, what was the worst that would happen? As I made my way into the restroom, she followed shortly after. When the door closed behind her, I turned around and stepped into her personal bubble.

"Hmmm, can I help you?" I looked her dead in the eyes.

"Do you like Jasper?"

"What?"

"You heard me, do you like Jasper? I promise I won't say anything to him. I just get this vibe that the two of you are into each other."

"Where did you get the idea?" I gave her an incredulous look.

"Don't play dumb, it is the way he looked at you for that split second and the way you kept reacting to everything he was saying and doing. You are so hyper aware of his presence."

"No, I am not." I could see the lie in her eyes.

"Doris, I am not blind. I know what I see and you are into Jasper, aren't you?"

She looked at it with a straight face, she was better at hiding her emotions than the FBI. I could never get a solid read on her. As her Luna, I had access to her mind but I wasn't going to be intrusive like that. If she wanted to tell me, she would tell me. I shouldn't have to resort to force to get the information I wanted.
