Chapter 123: Alpha Elena

Chapter 123: Alpha Elena

Elena

I felt his fangs touch my skin, I cowered away from him but his grip on my neck kept me in place. He applied a little more pressure and his fangs pierced through my skin. Time stood still all around me. My eyes cut to Bernard, who was lying on the ground. His eyes closed and barely breathing, Mathew stood towering over him with his Paws on his neck.

I looked all around the battlefield and saw wolves that had risked their lives to fight for me going at it with the wolves who I had grown up with and known. My eyes cut back to Bernard, he lifted his head slightly. His green eyes watched me helplessly, I could see the pain and anguish in his eyes.

No! This couldn't be our end, this couldn't be how this Pack ends. Richard dug his fangs in deeper and the pain traveled all over my body.

"No! This is not how it ends." I looked up to the sky, searching for an answer.

'Moon goddess, I need you.' I said internally.

The wind around us picked up, the leaves in the trees started swaying and I felt a heat rising in my chest. One moment, Richard had his fangs digging into my skin and my neck he unlatched himself from me, and he fell to the ground unconscious.

I looked around the clearing and saw that everything was paused. All the wolves had been paused mid-strike as if someone had gotten the remote and stopped the scenes.

"What in the world?"

I looked down at my body and found my body now clothed in the white dress. I didn't understand what was happening and I didn't know whether to be relieved or frightened.

"You need to do this now." That voice I had once longed to hear said.

But ever since my last encounter with it, I dreamed of hearing my mother's voice. I turned around slowly and came face to face with my mother. I didn't know how real she truly was, I didn't know if this was her spirit or if it was just a figment of my imagination.

"I am as real as you believe me to be."

She answered my unasked question, she smiled the same as my mother too. She stepped forward dressed in a similar white dress. When she was in front of me, she grabbed my head between her both hands and leaned her forehead against mine.

"You have been running for ten years and you have continued to run from your destiny. You must accept the gene, you must step into your powers."

"How?"

"Don't look away?"

My eye rolled into the back of my head and I was plunged back to the day Richard attacked my family. Richard walked through the flames and stalked my mother, the fear in her eyes had me heartbreaking all over again.

"Your family is a sham, Richard." Despite her fear, her voice came out strong.

"How dare you try to steal from the Williams clan? Have you no shame?"

Richard bared his sharp teeth sneering at my mother, she stood her ground holding her own. He wound his hand backwards as his nails elongated.

"Your family didn't deserve power. Your husband, although blessed with the gene was weak, I was able to sever his head within seconds." He plunged his claws into my mother and she screamed in agony. I was about to shut my eyes but then the voice echoed in my head.

'Don't look away.'

I stared at the scene unfolding before me, Richard raised my mother's body into the air like she weighed nothing. His eyes glowed their devilish red.

"This is the kind of power you will never understand." He seethed.

"I will track down your daughter and I will kill her just like I did to her father. Her powers will be mine and no one will ever know who she was meant to be and what she possesses within her."

"Go…go…to….hell," my mother strained against the blood that spilled from her mouth.

"Save me a seat."

Richard dug his claws deeper, penetrating her abdomen. The blood oozed off my mother's mouth as she shook, her life was draining from her. Richard tilted his head back breathing in the air that surrounded the area. His eyes glowed brighter and my mother's blue eyes glowed as well. She let out one final gasp before her body went limp and life left her eyes. Richard's eyes continued to glow, he dropped her body, retracting his claws.

'Go,' the voice ordered me.

My body moved on autopilot as I surged forward towards Richard. My claws elongated as I ran up to him, his red eyes followed my movements. He readied himself to attack me but it was too late. As soon as I was in front of him, I plunged my claws into him. I felt the surge of power at the tips of my fingers.

That was it, that was his power source. It lived inside him like a battery. Unlike chosen Alphas, whose gene was embedded deep into their DNA, Richard's Alpha gene floated in him. It was half attached to him, this allowed him to have the capabilities of an Alpha but still not a full Alpha. I knew what I needed to do and it was time.

The scenes before me faded and my eyes rolled in the back of my head. I was plunged back into the reality I had left. Richard held me in his tight grip, his fangs digging deeper into my skin but this time I had the strength.

"Not…today," I gasped.

I felt the power surge throughout my body. Richard released his fangs, dropping his grip in the process. I landed on the ground and punched him in the throat. He fumbled backwards a few meters, coughing up my blood as I poisoned him. His eyes snapped at me.

"Impossible, you don't know who you are."

"Correction, you are the one who doesn't know who you are, you are an imposter who has played the role of an Alpha. Your family stole the powers from mine but now, I am taking it back. Your reign of terror ends today, Richard." He stood to his full height.

"Don't make me laugh, you cannot beat me. Men far stronger than you have tried."

"Well, you have never gone against a true Alpha."

I leaped into the sky, landed a few meters from him, and bounded forward. He tried to shift back to his wolf but it was too late. My claws were already deep into his abdomen just like I had done before. I felt the power surge through my fingertips. I got it.

Richard was rendered paralyzed in his position, I was holding his booster battery and he couldn't afford to move. I looked into his eyes as I spoke.

"You have terrorized many people under your reign. You have killed innocent and stolen so much for so many families. you are your family are the reason why Silver Crest Pack has no hope or light. So as the Alpha of the Pack, I sentence you, Richard Brown to death."

I plunged my paws deeper and I closed my eyes. I concentrated on the power that was within him. The power that had been bound to the Williams bloodline. I called it, willing it to come into me. He began to shake as the power entered my body.

"No!" He struggled to speak.

"Yes," I snapped my eyes to him.

"This is for my parents, my ancestors, and for the pack you tried to destroy. No longer will your darkness roam on this earth any longer."

When all the powers had drained from him, I released my claws and stepped back. Richard fell to his knee, his body weak. I walked up to him and cupped his chin, forcing him to look up at me. For the first time since having him as my Alpha, I saw fear in his eyes. I saw real genuine and honest fear in the eyes of a man who had drilled into his Pack that fear was for the weak.

"I want my face to be the last thing you see." I spat.

"Enjoy hell, Richard."

I wound my hand back and slit his throat clean. Blood splattered onto my hand but I didn't look away. It oozed out his mouth and I let his chin go. He flopped to the group in a lifeless heap, his body convulsed violently, fighting to stay alive but without the stolen power, he was nothing but a weakling. His body shook one last time before all life drained from him.

When I looked up, everyone stood still watching us. I could see the shock and the surprise on their faces. I have done it, I have killed Richard Brown. I had avenged my parents and I had killed the tyrant that had tormented many. The wolf that had been towering over Bernard growled at me before he took off running. A few of the remaining wolves from Richard's took off with him but some stayed back.

Bernard struggled to his feet, he was staring at me with a look of pride and I couldn't help but stand a little taller. It was then that I remembered my nakedness and I quickly ducked behind a tree to retrieve some clothing. As I covered myself up, I heard Bernard's voice echoing in my head.

'You never cease to amaze me, Alpha Elena.'

I couldn't help but smile at his words. I had not only exceeded everyone's expectations of me but I had exceeded my expectations. For the first time since I found out the truth about my bloodline, I felt like I was a true Alpha.
