Chapter 34: The Plan

Chapter thirty-four: The Plan

Helen

"Hi Elizabeth." I smiled that smile that was only reserved for those I actually liked. Elizabeth is different from other people I have encountered in my life. There is something about her aura that drew me closer to her.

She stood up from her seat and rounded the island. Her arms were spread wide, offering me a hug. I obliged and opened my arms as we engulfed each other in a hug that lasted a little too long for my liking. She broke the embrace and caressed my cheek the way a loving mother would.

"How are you, my dear? How is Bernard? Liam informed me that he had finally woken up." I cleared my throat before responding.

"He is doing alright, Elizabeth but there is a little problem." She pulled out of the embrace and gestured for me to sit beside her. We settled into our seats and she waited for me to speak.

"Elizabeth, you know how grateful my parents and I were for this arrangement. You know how Bernard and my father took the oath of the Alpha and gave their words." She nodded.

Yes, I am aware but how is that an issue?" She asked.

"That is not the problem, the issue lies with Bernard. When you first contacted my father about the arrangements, you told us that Bernard had no one he is attached to, no mate, no partner, or anything of that sort." I said to her.

"As far as we know, he doesn't have anything, but why do you ask? Had he done something to show you that there is someone other than you?" She responded.

"He claims she is just a friend but I have my suspicions that there is something there that he is not telling me. Her name is Elena, she had an unruly red hair and cryptic blue eyes. I believe she is a gamma." Her mouth twisted in the distance.

"Oh, that one, she is not one of us. She crossed over to our land a few weeks ago and Bernard decided to have mercy on her." I was confused by her response.

"Why didn't he send her back to where she came from? She took a sip from her drink.

"Apparently, she is suffering from amnesia. She can't remember anything apart from her first name. Bernard said he would call some Alphas to see if there is a missing Pack member but so far, no one has claimed her." Elizabeth said.

"So, she is a rogue?" I asked.

"Technically, she is unless we find her Pack." She waved me off.

"You have nothing to worry about, my darling. She is nothing but a small peasant and you, my dear, are the diamond of the season. Your beauty is unmatched and the power you carry in your pinkie is more than most she-wolves will know in their lifetime." She tried to reassure me.

'But yet, your son seems more interested in a dumpster wench than me.' I wanted to say it out but I held my tongue. My fight is not with Elizabeth or even Bernard, it is with that little girl. I need to get rid of her and I need to do it very fast.

"You are right but I think there is more to say to this story than meets the eye, Elizabeth. I want to have a happy relationship with Bernard, I know that we are not mates but I know if given the chance, I can love him right and make him a better Alpha."

"Bernard is already an excellent Alpha." She defended her son.

"I know." I made sure to word my reply correctly this time.

"I was trying to say that I can be his support, his pillar of giving the chance but I can't do that if his eyes and heart are wandering." She set her glass down and looked me deep in the eyes.

"So, what are you suggesting?" She asked me.

"I want that girl gone, she is a rogue and can be easily disposable." She nodded her head slowly as my words sank in.

Elizabeth is a woman whom I believe knew how to make things happen for herself. She is not one to sit back and let life just unfold. She knew how to take the bulls by the horns and force them in the direction she needed to go. I needed that side of her at this time if she was willing to get her hands dirty.

"Are you planning to kill her?" She asked.

"If need be, then yes. But I don't want us to do that drastically, we can just make sure that she ends up somewhere far, far away from here and Bernard."

"Whatever you need, I am here to help you, Helen. I don't like that girl much anyway. With no Pack to claim her and no family present, no one will question her disappearance." Elizabeth muttered.

"Apart from your son, I have a plan for that as well. We will make it look like she was attacked and killed by my rogues. In this way, Bernard won't try to do something stupid like going to rescue her, and I get to have my mate back." She clapped her hands together in excitement.

"I love that." She replied and I smiled at her. I knew that I could count on her. I was about to say another word when I heard the sound of a door closing in the distance.

"What was that?" I asked and she waved me off.

"Probably just one of the maids. They were cleaning your parent's room to your mother's liking." She responded.

"Oh, okay." I muttered.

I am Helen Elison and I am not the one to lose to anyone. This Elena girl is simply another obstacle I have to break down to get my desired goal of sitting beside Bernard as his Luna. It was only a matter of time before she became nothing but a distant memory to Bernard and I became his whole world.
