Chapter 166: Alisha's Wedding

Chapter 166: Alisha's Wedding

Elena

It has been one week since Veronica went into a coma and today is Alisha's wedding day. Veronica had made it past the first crucial 24 hours that Liam had been worried about. When he had told me that she could now breathe without the ventilator two days ago a weight was lifted off my shoulders. But she had a mountain to climb in terms of healing, at least she was over one of the hardest parts of her healing process.

I always go to the hospital to see them on a daily basis and bring her husband to the house so that we can take care of him while his wife is healing. He had been somewhat of a zombie the past week, he was functioning on autopilot but we couldn't blame him. His mate is lying in a hospital bed, unconscious and unresponsive. If it had been Bernard on that bed, I don't know what I would do.

I just thank the moon goddess that she was at least breathing but showing no signs of healing. I had been fearful for a moment, wondering if now we needed to say our last goodbye.

"Your thoughts are so loud, they are pushing against my skull, my love."

Bernard came up behind me and placed his hands on my waist. He pulled me back so I was flush against his front. I stared out the window that overlooked that pack lands.

It was a perfect day for a wedding, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Jack and Alisha were more in love than ever. I knew that their union today would be blessed and filled with joy.

We offered them the backyards of our house for their wedding, seeing as they didn't have much to spend on their big day. Alisha was very vocal about wanting something small for her wedding, she only wanted the people who truly mattered in her day which was why we were only catering to about fifty people.

I was kind of jealous of Alisha and how she had the option of having something small or big, I hadn't had that luxury. I had been forced to have a big wedding seeing as I am Luna and it was expected of me to have a big wedding. There were people at my wedding who had scorned me but they still sat in the audience and pretended to be happy for my union. To be fair, they probably weren't happy, I had met them before they ever knew I was Luna but that fact just made the situation worse.

"I am sorry," I signed.

"How is she this morning?"

"Relatively the same as yesterday but there is a little more brain activity which is great. Her wolf is also starting to make a little appearance, Liam is optimistic that she should wake up within the coming days." Those words brought my heart a lot of joy.

"I just want her to be okay." He kissed my bare shoulder.

"She will but you need to get ready for today. Alisha will be waiting for you."

I turned in his arms and placed both my palms on his chest, he kissed the top of my head and I closed my eyes taking in the moment for a little bit. I allowed the presence of my husband to calm my racing heart and when I pulled away, I felt lighter and ready to go through the day.

"I will let you get dressed, I am going to check on Jack."

I watched him walk out of the room. I got dressed and gave myself the one over in the mirror, they had kept my makeup light which was for the best because I didn't want to overshadow Alisha on her big day. She is the centerpiece of today. The dress she picked for me was a strapless dark blue evening gown, there was a slight slit by the side which allowed for easy movement. The bodice was tight enough to give the right amount of cleavage but it wasn't suffocating.

I walked out of the closet to find Alisha in her wedding gown, I stopped and gazed upon her like she was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. Yes, she is, she looked ethereal. Her gown was a form fitting floor length dress that had sleeves. The sleeves were made of lace with intricate embroidery on the bodice of the dress.

Her hair was packed into a classy up-do and her makeup had been done elegantly. She looked like a princess, her eyes had been made to look a little darker to give her a more dramatic effect but it was still soft enough to not take away the pureness that surrounded her.

"You are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen." She beamed at me.

"Thank you, you look beautiful too. I love the way the dress came out, how are you feeling?" I waved her off.

"We don't have to talk about that. This is your big day and all focus is on that."

I crossed the room to where she stood and grabbed her hands, I squeezed them tight.

"You deserve this and so much more, Alisha. You are one of the most kindhearted and gentle people I know, I am so happy you found Jack and I just know that your life together with him is going to be magical and filled with adventure.

She had tears welling in her eyes that she had to blink a few times to keep them back. I jokingly fanned her face trying to help her hold back the tears.

"I have something for you." I moved to the dresser and pulled out the small velvet box and walked back to where she stood.

"Every bride needs something blue, so I thought maybe these would be perfect."

She looked at me in disbelief and opened the box, situated inside were a pair of blue diamond earrings that I had bought for her last week.

"Elena," she gasped.

"This is too much." I shook my head.

"No, this is exactly enough. They are yours to keep and wear. I want you to feel like the true princess you are today."

She threw herself at me, nearly knocking me off my feet. I circled my arms around her and embraced her with just as much force as she was using. When we pulled away, both our eyes were teary and we burst out laughing.

"I love you, Elena."

"And I love you more." I patted a stray tear that had escaped.

"Now, let's go and get you married. I am sure Jack can't wait to see you, he is going to die when you walk down the aisle."

The wedding ceremony was so beautiful, there were only a few people in attendance and it was perfect. All the people who truly loved and supported them were present celebrating their love with them.

As they exchanged their vows, my eyes found their way to my husband who was sitting in the front row. I knew he was thinking the same thing as I was, on the day of our wedding. The day we made public promises to one another. We stood in front of our Pack and family friends declaring our undying love. That day had been the greatest day of my life, the second was the night that followed when we had sex for the first time and completed the mate bond. We grew in ways that I had never imagined us growing.

My eyes moved from my husband to Jasper who was sitting beside him. His gaze locked on the ground in deep thoughts, my heart ached for him because I knew that he was still going through a hard time with Doris. I scanned my eyes and found Doris only two rows behind Bernard and Jasper. Her eyes were so focused on Jasper's head, that there was obvious despair in her eyes and a little regret. It pained me to see them like this but I had faith that in time, they would find their way back to one another.

When the Priest announced that they were now husband and wife, Jack wasted no time in kissing his wife. The small crowd erupted in cheers and the union that had been formed, everyone was smiling.

As they pulled apart, both of them were beaming. They threaded their fingers and raised their hands in the air in triumph. They walked down the aisle as people clapped before they disappeared into the house where the wedding party would take place. I moved to my mate who quickly swooped me into his arms and spun me around like I was a princess. I laughed in his arms and secured my arms around his neck, I connected our lips afterwards. I felt the kiss right down to the tips of my toes. As he finally set me down, I stared into his gorgeous green eyes.

"I want to get married again," he smiled.

"You know, I want to live the experience all over again." I rolled my eyes.

"I want another honeymoon."

"See…" he winked.

"We are on the same page, you want the honeymoon and I want the wedding. We can do it all over again."

"I would marry you all over again if I could."

I stretched on my toes and kissed him for all the world to see. Bernard and I were never shy when it came to showing affection in front of others. I was sure that many found us annoying and cross but I didn't care.

"You guys are disgustingly sweet. Please get a room." Jasper grumbled, causing us to pull apart.

I winked at him and he rolled his eyes. Once he and Doris found common ground, I am sure that they would be just the same.
