Chapter 146: Ladies Night
Chapter 146: Ladies Night
Elena
Elizabeth just finished touching up my makeup, she had been helping me get ready for the night. I wasn't overly excited about the whole night, it hadn't been my idea to have the bridal shower but Alisha insisted on throwing me one.
She said that it was her duty as the maid of honor. I instructed her that I didn't want any stripper, and Bernard was more than happy to agree with me. He was also having his bachelor party with his friends as well.
"Perfect," Elizabeth stepped away as she touched my face one last time.
"You look beautiful, Elena."
I looked at the mirror and gasped when I saw my reflection, I couldn't believe I was the one. She curled my hair and applied some lipstick. I was looking extremely different. Yes, she is right, I look beautiful but I also didn't fully feel like me, I guess that was part of a makeover.
Bernard walked into the room and smiled at me from the door. I watched his reflection for a moment through the mirror, Elizabeth turned towards the direction of her son.
"Tell your bride how beautiful she looks."
He held my gaze in the mirror as he walked up behind me. He placed his hand on my shoulder as we stared at each other in the mirror before he dropped his head and kissed my cheek. He brought his lips to my ear only to whisper.
"Breathtaking," his hot breath fanned my face. This man is like a drug to me and I hadn't gotten my daily dose today.
"I will leave you two, Elena remember I am only a phone call away." Elizabeth left us alone in the room.
I turned my face to meet Bernard's gaze, our lips were only an inch from one another and our breath mingled together. My eyes flicked from his eyes to his lips and back to his eyes again, the tension between them was electric. My eyes fluttered closed and my lips found him in a gentle kiss but it was over just as soon as it began. He stood to his full height and stared at me through the mirror, I pouted, I want us to continue with the kiss.
"Don't make that face, my love. I don't want to ruin your lipstick."
"I could reapply it, you know that right?" He nodded
"Yes I do but I knew that if we continued, I wouldn't be able to let you go tonight. I can only imagine what you guys will be doing tonight." I smirked.
"Strippers, maybe club, and let's not forget drinking my body weight in alcohol." His eyes darkened.
"I am kidding," I let out a soft chuckle.
"All activities will only include females and there will be no reckless behavior of any kind." He was still glaring.
I rolled my eyes and got up from the seat, moved around the chair, and circled my arms around his waist. His arms came around me instantly, I looked up at him with a beaming smile on my face.
"Hey," he was still sulking.
"I can't wait to marry you." My smile couldn't get any bigger even if I had tried.
His arms tightened around me and he captured my lips in a heated kiss. This time, he didn't pull away immediately, our lips molded together. I felt this kiss all the way down to my toes, every part of me felt electrified and when he pulled away, we were both breathless. He leaned his forehead against mine.
"I can't wait to marry you either, Elena Rosalie Williams." I closed my eyes wanting to commit this moment and this feeling to memory.
"I love you, Bernard."
"I love you more, Elena.
After a few minutes, I walked to the closet to get ready for the night. I wore the clothes Elizabeth had bought for me. When I came out, I found Bernard sitting on the edge of the bed with something in his hand. He stood up when he heard my heels click against the hardwood floor.
"You look beautiful." He held up what was in his hand.
"I thought you could use a little spark on you."
It was a charm bracelet with three little charms already hooked on, I held out my arms completely transfixed with the jewels. He clasped the bracket onto my arm and pulled me closer to him.
"This blue one presents a sapphire jewel that I think about every time I look into your eyes. This symbol here is your original family crest, I had Jasper look into it and he found it. This last one there…" he pointed to the crystal heart.
"Is my heart, wherever you go, I want you to know that you always carry my heart with you. I will continue to add charms every time we have a special moment and when the bracelet is full, I will get you another one."
I didn't know it was possible to fall more in love with him than I already did.
"This is beautiful, thank you so very much."
Our lips were about to meet but the sound of shouting downstairs caused us to move apart.
"Elena! Come down, it is time to go! The streets of River Road are calling our names, hurry up now." I looked at Bernard in confusion.
"It is River Road's version of a club, it is not anything out there and crazy but you will still have a good time."
I scrunch my nose in disgust, I didn't know how I felt about going to a club. I had told Alisha that I would be open to the experience but I knew if I started feeling uncomfortable, I would get out of there quickly.
"Take me downstairs." He nodded and threaded his fingers through mine.
We made our way downstairs and found Alisha, Ivory, and Doris all waiting. When they saw us descending, they started giggling.
"Alpha," they said in unison.
"I promise to bring her back before the sunrise." Alisha beamed.
"Hmmmm," Bernard let go of my hand and cupped my face.
"I love you, be safe." He pecked my lips and pulled away.
"Take care of my woman, Alisha. She is your responsibility tonight."
Alright did a little mock salute and nodded, from the way she was acting, I could already tell that she was a little on the tipsy side. Tonight is going to be interesting. We left the house and walked towards the car that had already been waiting for us.
I had never been in a club before, we walked into the venue, and music vibrated off the walls. Sweaty bodies were moving against each other on the dance floor and there was an array of different smells lingering in the air, I could smell alcohol and swear mixed together. People liked going to clubs but for me, this seemed like hell on earth for me.
"Let's take some shots!" Ivory screamed and I could barely hear her, so we made our way to the bar.
"I thought this was meant to be like a social hub for wolves?" I asked as I noticed no wolf in the place.
"All of them were told not to attend tonight, it is just humans here tonight." Doris whispered into my ear above the noise.
I nodded and turned my attention to the bartender who was pouring drinks for us. Everyone grabbed a glass and I followed their actions as they all raised their glasses in the air.
"To the most beautiful bride there will ever be, cheers to you, Elena!" Alisha screamed, we clinked our glasses and sipped the drink.
I had to bite back the cough that was threatening to escape my mouth, the liquor burned my throat as it traveled down my esophagus. The warmth spread throughout my abdomen, warming my entire body. We repeated the same thing with the remaining shots.
"Let's party!" Ivory grabbed my hand and pulled me to the dancing floor.
I don't know how to dance but the alcohol encouraged me, giving me the confidence that I could be a good dancer. I started moving my body to the rhythm of the best and allowed the liquor to take over me.
As the night moved forward, we consumed more shots, my head was floating and I suddenly felt the urge to call my mate.
"I am going to call Bernard."
That was what I had meant to say as I stepped away from the group to go outside but my words came out slurred and jumped. I walked outside to the cool breeze of the night and took out my phone from my purse. I dialed the number I was looking for, it rang once.
"Elena, are you okay?" His voice sounded so hot on the phone.
"Yes, I am soo fine! I already had like ten shots of vodka with two gin and tunas."
"You mean tonics? You are drunk, aren't you?"
"No!" I stomped my foot on the ground.
"I am perfectly fine."
"Where are the girls?"
"Inside somewhere, we all had the shots." I giggled.
"I think Alisha might be a little drunk."
"I think you're the one that is drunk, my love." I heard some rustling on the other end of the line.
"I am coming to get you, sweetheart. I need your head back inside, okay? I will be there in ten minutes."
"Noooooo," I whined.
"I haven't tried my Shirley temple yet."
"I think that's enough for you tonight, my love. Now please go inside and wait for me, I will be there in ten minutes."
"You said ten minutes?"
"Yes, I am already in the car."
I hung up the call and headed back inside. He was coming and I needed to order my Shirley Temple quickly. I knew he would try and stop me today, I was feeling like breaking some rules.
If I had known alcohol was this fun, I would have started drinking a long time ago.
