He's here
Two years later
Shane
“Shane!”
My Princess’s voice cut through my concentration, demanding my focus. I internally groaned and jumped at the thought of her being here at this moment. I had been on the hunt all day before a prey willingly walked into my trap. I didn’t flinch as she called me again. I knew she was here, any moment now, she would walk through that door and see me, if she hadn’t already.
Pretending I couldn’t hear her, I stuck my tongue down Evangeline’s throat and grabbed her breast. Her arms were wrapped around me, her mouth was open, wet, and inviting. I squeezed hard and she cried out as the pleasure mixed with pain. She didn’t tell me to stop, she never did. She was good at giving me what I wanted. No matter how dark, no matter how depraved, she always let me do whatever it was I wanted. She ground against me as she widened her legs. The door opened and the sound of her footsteps announced her arrival.
“Shane!” Adea hissed through the darkness.
Tonight was the masquerade ball, one of many her father threw where the strongest packs gathered. Influential alphas, betas, gammas, and other pack warriors came to find their potential mates. Those who didn’t just come for a fuck. I could care less about finding a mate, especially not a Goddess-given one. I had no interest in playing into the Goddess’ plans, nor did I want more than what I already had. At least, that’s what I told myself day in and day out.
Evangeline hurriedly lifted her skirt for me and as inviting as it was, as much as I wanted Adea to watch us, I couldn’t continue to ignore the worry in her voice. I ignored the invitation and bit down on her lip. I heard Adea gasp, but pretended I didn’t hear her. I pretended as if I didn’t want to invite her to join. I reached around and yanked on Evangeline’s hair. She offered her throat to me and I took my time as I kissed her chin. I licked, nipped, and sucked down on her sensitive flesh.
I couldn’t keep the smile off of my lips as Adea cleared her throat. I looked up from the neck I was feasting on and locked eyes with Adea. Her eyes glared at me through a black mask that kept her identity hidden. Her hand on her hip, and she looked delicious standing there in that maroon dress. It was an earthy color that somehow brought out her eyes. When she shook her head at me, I cooled my features and straightened my back. I licked my lips and stared at her. She huffed in exasperation.
“Oh, Adea. I didn’t see you there,” I murmured. I knew by the way she rolled her eyes that she didn’t believe me for a second.
“Let’s go!” Adea spat. I wanted to laugh at her reaction. She was jealous, and I liked it. I liked jealousy on her.
“Can’t you see that I’m busy?” I asked, jerking my chin toward Evangeline. She was nothing, but if pretending she mattered kept that look on Adea’s face, I’d continue. All Adea had to do was demand I drop her and I would obey. I’d drop her flat on her ass if my Princess wanted it.
“Shane. I don’t care what or who you’re doing. Let’s go, or I’m leaving,” Adea groaned. She folded her arms in front of her chest as she looked at the girl in my arms.
“As Shane said, we’re busy. No one cares what you want, so can you see—” Evangeline couldn’t finish her sentence because I covered her mouth with my hand.
“You’re a good fuck, but I don’t spend time with you to hear you talk. Don’t think you’re special just because I spend time in that overused cunt of yours. You don’t get to decide where or who I spend my time with. Understand?” I asked. Dumbfounded, her eyes widened and she nodded. “Good.”
I removed my hand from her back and she fell to the ground. If only she knew who she was talking to, or maybe she did and wanted to take the opportunity to bad mouth Adea. No one spoke to the Alpha’s daughter that way and lived. There was a hierarchy in packs. The heirs were respected. Evangeline shot Adea a glare from the ground. Her head would have been torn off and put on a spike for the pack to see. No one else saw and from the looks of it, tonight, my Princess didn’t care. And luckily for Evangeline, my Princess was calling. I shook my head at her jealous glare, my curls bouncing as I gave Adea my widest smile. She didn’t say anything, but she turned from me.I pulled my hair back and tied it low as she walked away from me. She hated when I put it back, but I looked forward to when she would eventually pull it loose. I loved the feel of her fingers as they ran through my hair. It was probably my favorite thing in this Goddess-forsaken world.
It had been two years since potatoes brought me and my Princess together. I was all she had and I liked it that way. She wasn’t of age yet, but she’d grown in the last two years. Her hair fell down her back now, her breasts had swelled, her delicate collar bones had become more prominent as her features defined. She was beautiful and I wasn’t the only one that had noticed. I cracked my knuckles at the thought. Rumors of her beauty had spread like wildfire. It didn’t matter how many suitors I beat into the ground, it didn’t change who she was, it didn’t change how she looked. You had to be blind not to see it.
I wouldn’t mind making them blind…
“What’s the rush?” I asked, as I placed my white mask back in place. Throwing that thought aside, I caught up to her. “Is there somewhere we’re going?”
I need to get out of here. I should have already been gone,” she hissed. I couldn’t figure out why she was so sour. We were at a ball, she loved them. We also didn’t have to worry about being seen together because no one knew who we were under these masks.
“Why? Don’t you like these things? The guests, the food, the guys?” I asked.
I rolled my eyes. She liked to look at the guys, she liked them a lot. I was fine with her looking as long as she never went to them. They sure as hell never went to her, I made sure of that. I was all she needed. Adea bit her lip as we walked quickly. She was nervous, which didn’t make sense. I was by her side. She knew that while I was by her side nothing would happen to her. Her being nervous only meant one thing. My hands curled into fists as she looked up at me with fear in her eyes.
“He’s here,” she murmured.
