Oh, shit.

Scatterbrain ~ Emei

Shane’s hand shot out, connected with Gabe’s chest, and pushed him back. Leo caught him, and my brows furrowed as I wondered if he was part of Shane’s pack. I didn’t remember him ever telling us where he came from, and maybe that was bad on our part. My eyes dropped to my best friend. He looked disheveled, but his eyes were worried as they took me in. He wore a baby blue dress shirt, but the buttons didn’t line up because one side hung lower than the other. He wore shorts I knew were his because they were tight and showed every curve of his body.
Lifting my leg, I moved to step forward but didn’t even budge an inch. Because, of course, Shane held me still. Turning to once again tell Shane to let me go, my eyes widened when his face was a lot closer than I was expecting. He leaned down, his hair covered his forehead, and that one curl bounced right in front of his eye. I already knew what he was going to do. He grabbed my cheek possessively and kissed me. I smiled into it as he consumed me. I tried to take a breath, but I couldn’t even do that. There was nothing I could do if Shane didn’t want it. Everything faded away, and it was only Shane, Shane, Shane.
When he released me, my lungs expanded, taking in sweet oxygen. I clenched my thighs and stared at my man. My cheeks flushed because that’s what he was. Mine. His lips were by my ear as my heart beat wildly in my chest. I could hear my best friend snort.
“Don’t think I won’t punish you right here, Princess,” he warned. If I wasn’t wet before, I was now. Sore, but wet. Gabe made a gagging sound. I shook my head, but he had already straightened and wasn’t looking at me anymore.
“Well? Are we going to stand out here all day?” Gabe huffed angrily.
“You could,” Shane mused. I elbowed him and the corner of his lip lifted. He stepped out of the way, and Gabe rushed me. He pulled me into a hug. Shane growled, but my best friend ignored him. Moving back, he held me at arm’s length. His gaze roamed down my body. The worry in his eyes was endearing.
“What are you looking for?” I laughed.
But he didn’t say anything. His eyes hardened as he pulled at Shane’s shirt collar. Turning from me, he stepped between me and Shane.
“Why is she hurt?” Gabe growled.
Shane tilted his head and stared down at Gabe because, of course, he was taller than him. My brows kissed before my eyes widened. How did I just realize this was their first time meeting? It didn’t feel like it because I talked to Gabe about Shane and vice versa. No, that’s not just it. This didn’t feel like their first time meeting. Gabe opened his mouth, but before he could say anything else, Odis stepped in.
“Alpha.” He bowed his head and grabbed Gabe’s arm. My best friend shot him a glare, but the beta ignored him. Leo waved at me and I smiled.
“Come in,” Shane sighed. Whatever I thought he was going to say, that wasn’t it. He turned from us and walked toward the kitchen. Gabe grabbed my hand, and we followed.
“You have some explaining to do,” I whispered to Gabe. He gave me the side-eye, like I had no business talking. I flashed him a smile, and he shook his head. The three of us sat at the table while Odis walked into the kitchen and grabbed cutting boards and knives. Shane opened the fridge and brought out an assortment of items.
“Are you guys really cooking right now?” I asked.
“My Princess needs to eat,” Shane answered without a glance my way.
I didn’t know what to say to that, but I liked that. I liked the idea of Shane making me something to eat. A lot.
“Leo, is this your pack?” The big guy’s cheeks flushed, and then his gaze darted to Gabe and then Odis.
“Yes.” He was wearing a green, ripped sleeveless shirt and I could clearly make out the hickies along his neck. They almost matched mine, but I had a sneaking suspicion he might have more.
“What a small world,” I murmured.
There was more to this, but I wasn’t sure what it was. My eyes landed on my blonde-haired bestie, but he wasn’t focused on us. His gaze was on the men in the kitchen. Following his line of sight, I watched as Shane and Odis worked together. Odis chopped vegetables while Shane sliced meat.
“Have you guys ever hooked up?” Gabe asked.
My eyes almost popped out of my head. I didn’t think Shane liked men, and even though the idea was ridiculous, the image of him with Odis flashed through my head. My mouth fell open, and my cheeks heated. Because why was the idea of Shane taking another man so hot? I was confused. I was aroused. No, I was conroused; confused and aroused. The guys stopped what they were doing and turned around.
“Have you ever slept with Adea?” Odis asked. The fog lifted and realization dawned on me. Odis and Gabe were a thing, but what about Leo? Shane had gone eerily still, and I smiled. This situation was dangerous. I shouldn’t love it as much as I did, but there was something about him when he was on edge.
“No, Beta. We’re not blood related, but Adea is my sister. And as you may recall from last night, I love cock.” My best friend answered perfectly. His sass is unrivaled.
Go, best friend.
He’s my best friend.
Shane didn’t move, but I didn’t miss the way his shoulders dropped, even though it was only a fraction. The men in the kitchen turned. Odis looked shocked, but my eyes were on Shane. Because something flashed in his eyes. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I knew I didn’t like it.
“Oh, shit,” Leo groaned.
I picked up on the sound of heels clacking, but I didn’t remember the door opening. Odis cursed, and my bestie’s eyes narrowed as he watched whoever was walking in. They came to a stop behind me, and I turned around.
