Just another day

There was a shout before someone banged on the door again. I heard grunts as men scuffled just outside and I wondered what the hell was going on. When I turned my attention back to Shane he was staring down at my lips. The tingling from his touch was overridden by the pain his grip caused. I yanked my face away and he released me. His eyes clouded over as he linked his men and I started for the door when a warning growl sounded behind me.
“What is your problem?!” I huffed as I turned to look at him. Warmth pressed against my back and an arm wrapped around my waist possessively. The door slammed open and my mouth dropped as my gaze landed on Donny. I don’t know who I was expecting to be the cause of the noise but Donny wasn’t on the list. One of Shane’s guards glared at the back of his head while the other nodded at the man behind me.
“Donny? What are you doing here?” I asked. Everyone knew the rules and only one person had ever broken them, Char, when she knocked on the VIP room earlier when I was with Chance. When his eyes locked on me, he stepped into the room and I felt Shane tense behind me. I didn’t know whether I wanted to smile at Donny for being the ballsiest human I’d ever met or tell him to get out of here for being the stupidest one I’d ever met.
He strode towards me and I started to shake my head at him. The last thing he wanted to do was piss off this client. Lips slid over my neck and my eyes widened as Shane sucked on the most sensitive area for a werewolf. My lips parted and I moaned as I melted against his back. Donny stopped in his tracks as he finally looked at Shane. His tongue slid up my neck and then he nibbled on my ear. I gasped as my nipples hardened. I hated that he had this effect on me, especially when I was hurt by the way he had treated me. I shouldn’t want him as much as I do, I shouldn’t want to forgive him after the way he’s acted, I shouldn’t want him to treat me like someone he treasures.
“I overheard Char talking to Chance and I was worried about you. I had to come and check up on you,” Donny said cautiously. His big brown eyes were worried as they roamed over my face and down my body. There was nothing perverted about the way he checked me over, there was concern and a need to make sure that I was okay.
“I think she’s just fine,” Shane murmured. A growl rumbled in his chest and I clenched my thighs. Was that jealousy I heard in his voice? I shouldn’t have liked the sound of his growl as much as I did. I was not one of those women who threw everything out the window when it came to good dick and a devilish man. Donny’s gaze darted to Shane.
“I don’t remember asking you,” Donny hissed harshly. Goddess, the tension in the room was palpable. The fuck you in his words was unmistakably clear.
“And I don’t remember inviting you,” Shane snarled. He moved behind me and I gripped his arm tightly so he didn’t go after Donny. He stopped moving and for a second I was scared of what he might do. “You’re not really what I look for in group play. You’re disturbing us,” he warned.
“I’m okay, Donny. Thanks for worrying about me but you didn’t have to come. I was just… leaving,” I said reassuringly. I did not want to see Sane hurt him.
“From where I’m standing, it doesn’t look like you’re okay, pepe,” Donny said seriously. My cheeks flamed at the endearment. He’d only called me that once before and it was the night we spent together. Shane tensed behind me and I lowered my chin to look at myself. He wasn’t wrong, he’d seen me on my way in to work and there were definitely differences from then and now. My skirt was tattered from Shane ripping it when I gave him a lap dance. My breasts were almost falling out and I’m sure my makeup was smeared from not only the facial my client had given me. I know my messy hair didn’t help the situation.
I couldn’t help but smile at Donny’s concern. He was nothing if not warm and caring. The rules meant nothing when it came to those he thought of as family. He was very protective about those that were close to him but how do I explain to him that this man wasn’t just a client? I couldn’t and I wasn’t about to call him my boyfriend. He obviously didn’t want more than sex from me. We weren’t allowed to exposed ourselves to humans and I didn’t want to acknowledge what Shane was to me. Especially after the way he had treated me. I grabbed Shane’s arm and pulled it off of me so that I could move out of his grasp. I flipped my hair over my shoulder and walked towards my friend.
“When have I not be able to handle myself? It was just another day at work, Donny,” I lied nonchalantly. I lied as if I hadn’t just broken one of my rules and let a man I just met fuck me in the VIP room, as if I couldn’t still feel him inside of me, as if I didn’t want to spend the rest of the night with him. I refused to show any of that, I refused to give him that power over me. He’d behaved like the biggest alphahole I’ve ever met and didn’t deserve my attention, nor the obsession I could already feel starting. I walked away from Shane and took Donny’s outstretched hand. Turning back to Shane, I fixed him with a cold look and spoke to him like I did to all of my other clients. “We’re done here.”
