Hell

Adea
I haven’t been alone with him since that one day and I had still been a child. I’d only gotten a glimpse at the devil lying beneath. Now that I was stuck in a room with him late at night I would see the Ethan no one else got to see. If I said I wasn’t afraid I would be lying. I was young not stupid. I knew what was going to happen tonight and I knew that Ethan was a force not to be reckoned with.

Would that stop me from fighting back?
No.
Would that stop me from at least trying to hurt him?
Definitely not.

That doesn’t mean that this man didn’t make me hesitate. He’s been a man since I was a girl and even though years had passed he still looked the same. I’d done my best not to look at him the entire night. But now that he was staring at me and I was staring at him, I had no choice but to look at him.
The demand was clear and I held my head high as I made my way toward my chair in front of the vanity. My body was on edge being in here with him. The only man I’d ever had in here other than my father’s warriors on occasion was him. I pushed him from my thoughts before I pulled the chair back. When it was placed so I would face him I took my seat. Lifting my chin, I glared at him.
“When did you have time to see your little boyfriend tonight?” Ethan asked. I opened my mouth and closed it before I opened it again to answer. “Don’t try lying to me. I won’t forgive it.”

I could give zero fucks what you would forgive.

“I’ll try again. Don’t make me repeat myself. When did you have time to see him?” Ethan asked. His voice was lower this time, it sounded dangerous.
“I met him in the powder room,” I answered.
“You planned—of course, you did. How did it feel sneaking around with him right under my nose?” Ethan asked. If I was a smart woman I would tell him I didn’t feel anything or even try to plead my case. I could try and appease his anger and tell him I felt guilty, but I never claimed to be a smart woman. I also never said I cared about what he thought or his feelings.
“It was liberating/amazing,” I hissed. Ethan’s temple pulsed and I was hoping it would explode. When it didn’t I tried to hide my disappointment.
“You’ve had him in here before.”
“Yes.”
“More than once.”
“Yes,” I said. With every confirmation I felt stronger.
“You touched him,” Ethan growled.
“Yes,” I answered.
“You fucked him.”
“No,” I said. He exhaled a breath I assume he’s been holding. “He fucked me.”
Ethan didn’t blink, he didn’t move. For a moment the world and everything on it stopped. I started to wonder if time had stopped, but before I could open my mouth to speak. Time resumed. Ethan’s wolf pushed forward and it was as if his body doubled in size. The white shirt he was wearing ripped and hung from his body. I hadn’t had a chance to shift but I knew something wasn’t right here. He grew taller, his shoulders widened, and his hair grew longer.
“What-” I started.
I was cut off as Ethan threw his head back and howled. I leaned back in my seat and gripped the arm rests tightly. I’ve never seen something like this before but I knew it was pointless to try and get away. I had nowhere to run and there was no one to help me.
Hell broke loose. Ethan was on his feet and he darted towards me. I flinched back and closed my eyes. I held my breath and waited for him to hurt me. My eyes flew open when a crash sounded. I cried out as shards of something sharp stabbed my legs. The vanity lay at his feet smashed into little pieces. Blood seeped down my leg from wood splinters and glass.
I was appalled by his behavior. I knew something dark and ugly lay just beneath the surface but being face to face with it was something else. Ethan wasn’t done. He lifted his foot and stomped the remaining intact pieces. He didn’t stop until it was completely shattered. When he was done, his shoulders rose and fell as his eyes left the carnage on the floor and locked on my face.
His eyes flickered back to green but only for a second. Ethan and his wolf walked over to me and I was powerless to do anything. All I could do was watch him as he came to a stop in front of me. He leaned down until his face was parallel from mine. His canines were extended, and his wolf glared at me. His eyes shifted as he looked me over. The hate was clear and it was reciprocated. His alpha aura came off of him in waves.
“I wanted to talk to your wolf but that’s alright. It looks like she’s licking her wounds. You’re the one that betrayed me. For now, I’m fine with just you. Watch me, chosen mate, as I ruin all of the things you guys had together. Watch me destroy everything. All of that is over. All you have now is me.”
