Big rich
“Morning, Ady,” Leo said nonchalantly with a nod of his head. He leaned against the door frame, his cock hard as a rock and very hard to miss. There was so much I wanted to tell Gabe, so much I hadn’t even been able to process yet. That was all forgotten as my eyes lowered to Leo’s cock and my mouth dropped. My eyes trailed back up to his face where I was met with a smug look. Of course he wouldn’t care about being on display. It was normal for wolves in a pack to be naked around each other but Gabe and I haven’t been in a pack house for a few years. Outside of clients, men stayed clothed.
I quickly picked my jaw off the floor and turned to Gabe. I gave him a knowing look as a smile spread across my face. Gabe stuck his tongue out and gave me a look that confirmed he’d gotten all he wanted last night. My heart lightened a fraction at the knowledge that my best friend was letting himself be with someone. I’d seen Leo not only once but twice in less than 24 hours. Leo’s eyes flickered to Gabe and a softness flashed across his face. “You were gone when I woke up,” he said heatedly.
“Miss me already?” Gabe asked arrogantly.
I was squealing inside, mentally jumping up and down as I watched their interaction. Leo stared at Gabe in a way that would have most girls dropping to their knees and my bestie was giving major daddy vibes. I was third wheeling it right now and that. was totally fine with me. Leo was being needy, definitely showing a clingy side with that one little sentence and Gabe was eating it up like boss bitch. Leo nodded and I could have fainted. They were so freaking cute I almost forgot everything that happened last night. Gabe turned his head to me and I stilled.
“We’re not done. Don’t think you can get out of it,” Gabe warned.
“Mm…” I hummed as the timer I set for the bread went off. I went back to preparing my breakfast, ignoring the hole Gabe was burning into my back with his eyes as he told Leo to go put on some shorts. Leo laughed as he did as Gabe said. Pulling out the bread, I scooped a bowl of soup and carried them to the counter. Gabe sat down next to me as I started eating and I could feel his gaze on the side of my face. I could feel him contemplating what to say to me. “You’re distracting me,” I joked.
“Well duh.. I’m gorgeous. What’s new? I won’t be swayed with compliments. Are you going to tell me what happened and don’t bother telling me it’s nothing. I know you better than I know myself,” Gabe said firmly. I lowered my spoon and fought the emotion from last night down. I looked at my best friend and readied myself for a conversation I wasn’t sure I’d be able to have.
“I met my mate last night,” I said. He flinched back from the words as if they stung. My forehead crinkled as I searched his expression. It didn’t make sense why finding my mate would hurt him. He school his expression and cleared his throat.
“And… how did that go?” Gabe asked cautiously. He didn’t ask who or question why he was at a strip club but I pushed back the prickle of suspicion I felt. I nodded my head as I searched for the words I needed to express what happened without letting it slip how I felt. It felt like a tornado was cutting through my chest, a storm raging in my head, a chain on my throat as gravity pushed down on my shoulders.
“We didn’t ride off in the sunset if that’s what you were thinking,” I teased. His fingers were on me and I was turned to face him as he looked at both sides of my neck. “No, he didn’t mark me.” Gabe leaned in and sniffed, his nose wrinkled as he realized I’d been with him.
“Your scent…” Gabe trailed off.
“What of it?” I blushed.
“You reek. How have I not noticed until now?” Gabe teased.
“Um.. other than you haven’t gotten any sleep, was up all night with Leo, and tried to hold a conversation at the early hours of the day? You need rest Gabe, you don’t have to notice anything. I’m fine,” I said earnestly. I meant it. I didn’t want him to worry and I didn’t want him to go after Shane.
“Don’t do that,” Gabe said quietly.
“Do what?” I asked.
“Don’t push me away. I’m here. No judgment, no pressure. Don’t hide from me sis,” Gabe said. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes and I fought with everything I had to stop them from falling. Gabe cursed but didn’t say anything. His hands lowered from my shoulders and he gripped my hands in his. I did not want to cry right now. I wanted to crawl into bed and sleep but I couldn’t do that either. I had another shift I needed to go to.
“I was pulled from a VIP client to service this new big shot that booked me out for the rest of the year. The whole fucking year!” I exclaimed.
“He’s big rich,” Gabe said.
“My other clients are going to be refunded and I’m supposed to spend every night with him,” I said. I refused to tell him that Shane said he’d let me know when to expect him so I can be ready to please him.
“Why would he book you out? I could see him doing that if he knew you in advance. Have you met him before?” Gabe asked curiously.
“That’s the question isn’t it? Why would he do that before meeting me? I’ve never seen him before in my life and… I’d definitely remember if I had. He’s insanely good looking,” I said honestly.
“I’m glad you’re pleased with your other half’s looks,” Gabe teased.
