Gentle

The look in his eyes isn’t hard to decipher. It’s one filled with lust and want. I already know what’s going to happen. I know what he wants before he says it. I can already feel his touch on my body and a shiver of fear runs over me. His eyes are locked on me as I stand with my hand on the shelf by my side. I lowered my hand and held it in front of me as I tried to come up with a way out of this.
“I can see your little mind at work. Why don’t you leave the thinking to me and come over here. I won’t tell you again, Adealine,” Ethan said.
His voice dripped with lust despite the warning. I looked over at the window as I considered throwing myself out of it. I already knew I wouldn’t but it didn’t mean I didn’t want to. It didn’t mean I didn’t long for a way to escape the new hell I just walked into.
How long would it take for me to fall to my death in the river below?
If I ran would I make it to the glass before Ethan caught up to me?
Would I even be able to throw myself out before he dragged me back inside?
The thought of having to suffer through what I’d gone through the other day was enough to make me want to bite my tongue off and drown in my blood. I don’t think I’d ever been as depressed as I felt today. Look at how quickly I changed. Being in his embrace again was enough to light a fire of desperation deep in my chest. My inner self, maybe my wolf, wanted to claw its way out.
“I don’t know what you mean,” I murmured.
“I don’t care what you do and don’t mean. I demanded for you to come. So come here, Adealine,” Ethan demanded.
My feet were moving and I stopped on the opposite side of him in front of the desk. I felt a false sense of safety that I had no business feeling. Ethan’s gaze lingered on the new steel blue dress from the collection I’d received from the dressmaker. The square neckline closed at the front with a band of eyelets on either side of the opening.
His eyes took in the swells of my breasts that poked out. It was ankle length and had delicate lace ribbon trims at the end of the performed elbow sleeves. I’d felt hidden beneath the conservative dress but his eyes told me I looked like a gift he couldn’t wait to unwrap. I felt naked beneath my layers, I felt seen. My hair was tied in a low bun with a ribbon to keep it up and tidy.
Ethan didn’t say anything as he lifted his hand and waved me over with two fingers. I gulped down the lump in my throat as I forced my feet to move. I put one foot in front of the other as I walked toward the bastard who had practically bought me. I held my head high, refusing to show any fear. I came to a stop by his chair and he turned in his seat and lifted his chin slightly to look up at me. I wasn’t that much taller than him seated but I wasn’t a fool. I knew his strength was unmatched.
He lifted his hand and I fought the urge to flinch as he brought it to my head. I waited for his touch but when it didn’t come I looked to my left. He pulled the white ribbon in my hair and released my hair. It fell down my shoulders and cascaded down my back. He brought the ribbon to his nose and inhaled it as he looked up at me with his cold green eyes.
“Heavenly,” Ethan said.
“Can I help you with something, Alpha?” I asked, keeping my tone light.
“Mm… there are a few things I can think of,” Ethan murmured. I ignored the way his free hand dropped down to his crotch as he adjusted himself. “Get on top of me,” Ethan said.
“I beg your pardon?” I asked shocked.
“Did I stutter, little one?” Ethan asked.
I bit my lip. Ethan brought out a violent side in me. I wanted to slap him but that’s probably what he was expecting. It didn’t mean that I didn’t want to hit him any less. I wanted to rip out that smile on his lips. I was alone here. The only person I had in this territory sat in front of me. He could make my life as miserable or as comfy as he wanted. Knowing that I still couldn’t bring myself to listen to him. I brought my hand across his face and smiled as the resounding slap bounced off the walls. His head didn’t budge an inch but he cocked his head and smiled at me.
“Oh, Adealine. I had hoped you would disobey me. Thank you for proving you were perfect for me,” Ethan groaned.
I started to curse him when he ripped my ribbon in two. He grabbed my wrist and jerked me toward him. He quickly tied my hand to the left rest on his chair and tied my other to the right rest. I leaned over him as he stared at my chest. He inclined his head and bit the swell of my breast. I cried out and pulled away from him.
“Stop,” I demanded.
“You don’t command me, Adealine. I think it’s about time you understood that.”
“Please,” I begged.
Ethan sighed. His hands gripped my waist as he lifted me onto his lap. My knees rested on both sides of his thighs. His hands slid up my hips to the front of my dress. He ripped it down the middle and my breath became shaky. It was happening again, for the second time I was powerless to fight him. His greedy eyes took in my breasts as they spilled free from the dress.
“There’s so much sorrow swimming in your eyes. It only hurts you the more you fight. Just give yourself to me. This doesn’t have to be so hard, my queen. Won’t you cry for me? If you do I’ll be gentle,” Ethan whispered.
