Chapter 505: Daddy, guess who we saw at school?
After Alaric finished speaking, Stellan looked at him again, feeling as if he was surrounded by a halo.
She had never seen him in his military uniform, but she could imagine that he must look incredibly handsome.
Stellan couldn't help but go over, stand on her tiptoes, and give him a kiss. Alaric took the opportunity to lift her up and swore, "So don't worry, as long as you don't change your mind, I'll always be loyal to you."
"With such a great husband and three well-behaved kids, if I don't love you, wouldn't I be going to hell?" Stellan spoke with a smile.
Alaric laughed and nodded, "At least you have good taste."
Alaric carried her to the dining table and said, "Let's eat quickly. Mr. Emberlyn called me early this morning and said his flight is at 9:30. If we finish breakfast and head to the airport, we'll be just in time."
"Leaving so early?"
"Yes."
"Then let's eat quickly and not delay."
After finishing breakfast, Stellan and Alaric drove straight to the airport. After waiting for a while, Thomas and Gillian appeared.
"Why are you here so early?" Thomas asked when he saw them.
Alaric didn't answer the question but replied, "Mr. Emberlyn, I didn't expect you to leave Arizona so suddenly. We didn't get a chance to properly host you."
"You treated me to dinner and drinks last night. Isn't that good hosting?" Thomas laughed. "Besides, it's not like I won't be back. I haven't even met your three kids yet."
"Next time you come, I'll definitely bring them to meet you." Stellan spoke.
"Alright, it's a deal then," Thomas then turned to remind Gillian, "Stay in Arizona for a few days and then come back. Don't stay too long."
"Got it." Gillian replied impatiently.
"You're an adult now. Be sensible and don't cause Alaric any trouble."
"Yes, I won't cause trouble."
Seeing Gillian's perfunctory response, Thomas frowned, looking worried.
"Don't worry, Mr. Emberlyn. We'll take good care of Gillian while she's in Arizona," Alaric comforted him.
"But if she causes any trouble, don't hesitate to criticize her. Don't tolerate her."
"Okay."
"Alright, you don't need to see me off. Go back now," Thomas then reminded Gillian one last time, "Don't cause Alaric any trouble. Come home as soon as you've had enough fun."
"I know, how many times are you going to say that?"
Thomas frowned and tapped Gillian on the head before turning to walk away. Watching Thomas disappear from sight, Alaric turned to Gillian and asked, "What are your plans? Where do you want to go in Arizona?"
"Isn't Arizona your hometown? I'm not familiar with it, so I'll leave it all to you."
"OK, I'll make the arrangements."
Since Thomas had entrusted Gillian to them, they naturally had to take good care of her while she was in Arizona.
"And that hotel, I don't want to stay there anymore. I keep hearing strange noises at night. It's scary."
"Then stay at The Knight Mansion." Stellan spoke before Alaric could respond.
Alaric was taken aback by Stellan's suggestion to let Gillian stay at The Knight Mansion.
Stellan warmly took Gillian's hand and uttered, "It's rare for Gillian to come to Arizona, and we have plenty of room at home. Why stay in a hotel?"
Gillian hadn't expected Stellan to be so enthusiastic, but it suited her just fine. "Since Stellan is so welcoming, I won't refuse."
Stellan smiled.
A woman's intuition told her that Gillian definitely had feelings for Alaric, but Alaric's words this morning had reassured her greatly.
Since she trusted Alaric, there was nothing to worry about. If Gillian wanted to stay, Stelllan let her. If she wanted to make Gillian give up, who wanted to break up their marriage, she had to let her try. If she didn't, Gillian'd always have those delusions.
After witnessing the previous confrontation between Gillian and Stellan, Alaric was truly exhausted. If the three of them lived together, he would go crazy.
So Alaric came up with a plan.
"What?" Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were all surprised when they received Alaric's call. "You're picking us up to go home this afternoon? Isn't it still midweek?"
"Yes, from now on, you don't have to stay at school anymore. Surprise?"
Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were quite exasperated.
"One day you say we should stay at school, the next day you say we shouldn't, and the day after that you change your mind again," Harry complained. "How is this a surprise? Where's the surprise?"
"Did you guys have another fight?" Elisa asked, equally exasperated. "If you didn't fight, you wouldn't think of us."
"Daddy, you're an adult. When problems arise, you need to learn to solve them yourself," Caspian couldn't help but say. "Stop using us as a shield."
"Yeah, and then you discard us when you're done," Harry added. "With such behavior, Dad, it's hard for us to help you out."
Originally, only Harry among Caspian, Harry, and Elisa would mock him. How did it turn into all three of them mocking him together?
"First of all, let me clarify, I really didn't fight with your mom. We're getting along great. It's just that your birthdays are coming up, and I wanted to bring you home early."
Alaric could only try to placate them. "I've already decided that on your birthday, I'll invite your classmates over for a birthday party."
"Really?"
"Of course," Alaric asked. "So, I'll pick you up after school today?"
"Alright, since you're putting so much effort into our birthday, we can stay home for a few days." Harry agreedd reluctantly.
"Great, I'll pick you up this afternoon," Alaric said, about to hang up when Elisa hurriedly added, "Oh, Dad, there's something amazing to tell you."
"What amazing thing?"
"Guess who we saw at school today?"
"How would I know?" Alaric spoke. "Stop creating suspense and just tell me."
"Tommy."
What? They saw Tommy at their school?!
"Daddy, it turns out Tommy is a police officer. He looks so handsome in his uniform," Elisa said, clearly impressed by seeing Tommy in his police uniform.
"Why was he at your school?" Alaric questioned quickly.
"Because today the school invited police officers to give us a talk on legal knowledge," Harry explained. "Tommy was the one giving the lecture."
"Daddy, you can check our school's website. There's a video of Tommy's lecture," Elisa voiced excitedly. "The teacher said Tommy is a hero and very impressive."
"Daddy, didn't you say Tommy was a bad guy before?" Caspian was also shocked. "How did he become a police officer?"
