Chapter 525: It's Nothing, Just a Small Favor

"Alright." It was clear that Neil was particularly invested in solving this case, and naturally, Stellan wanted to know the truth more than anyone else. "I'll try my best to think."

"The more detailed, the better. Write down everything you can think of." Neil added.

"Okay, I will."

After hanging up the phone, Stellan racked her brain. Brennan hadn't let her get too involved with the Storm Group's affairs, so she wasn't very familiar with some of the important partners and business rivals. She could only do her best.

After coming up with a few names, she wrote them down and sent them to Neil. Neil replied to her.

[Got it. Keep thinking, and if you come up with anything else, contact me anytime.]

After replying to Neil with an [okay.], Stellan put down her phone, lay on the bed, and closed her eyes again.

Stellan thought inwardly, 'Deep hatred? What kind of deep hatred would lead someone to destroy the Storm family? Who was that person? Who killed Brennan?'

As long as this case remained unsolved, Stellan couldn't find peace. She hoped Neil could solve it soon.

As for Mia, Stellan really needed her now. She was in the early stages of pregnancy, and if the abdominal pain continued, Alaric would find out sooner or later.

He might even put his work aside to stay with her. Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were all so sharp that it would be hard to deceive them. The current servants weren't trustworthy; only Mia was.

Thinking about the last time she had severe abdominal pain and Tommy took her to the hospital, she realized she hadn't thanked him. She decided to call Tommy.

"Mrs. Knight."

"Tommy, I haven't thanked you for taking me to the hospital last time."

"No problem, it was nothing," Tommy replied quickly. "I also feel bad that you felt unwell while we were talking. I'm just glad you're okay."

"I'm fine now. Actually, I called today for another reason," Stellan voiced. "I just spoke with Officer Neil. He said you're now in charge of Mia's case."

"Mia? Your nanny?" Tommy asked. "Neil mentioned it to me. He's been very busy lately and handed over some cases to me. I've been going through the files, focusing on criminal cases. I haven't looked into Mia's case yet."

"I understand it's less important compared to those criminal cases, so focus on your work. I just wanted to ask. I know you guys are very busy."

Stellan really didn't want to make this call, but she needed Mia in her current situation, and she was worried since there had been no news for so long.

"It's no trouble. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news," Tommy uttered quickly. "By the way, Mrs. Knight, you mentioned you were going to sue Hestia. Have you done that?"

"Yes, Alaric took care of it."

"That's good. I hope the court can process it quickly so I can close the case. Alright, Mrs. Knight, you should rest. I'll hang up now."

After hanging up, Tommy turned to Officer Vernon and said, "Officer Vernon, bring me the case file on Mia's disappearance."

"Mia? Which Mia?"

"The one Mr. Knight reported missing. She left home and hasn't been heard from since."

"Got it." Officer Vernon found the case particularly uninteresting. "Neil only took it on as a favor to Alaric. Legally, cases like this, where there's no suspicion of foul play, aren't even supposed to be opened. And we're dealing with criminal cases here. A missing person case like this is a waste of time. We haven't even caught the murderer yet. Who has time to look into a missing person?"

Tommy responded coldly, "Just bring it. No need for so much talk."

Although Tommy didn't have an official position yet, he was a popular figure, and there were rumors he might be promoted to deputy team leader. So, except for Neil, everyone treated Tommy like a leader.

"Alright, I'll get it."

Tommy carefully reviewed the materials related to Mia's disappearance that Officer Vernon had brought him.

Today seemed busy for everyone except Stellan.

Alaric wanted to take a few days off to be with Stellan, so after finishing his meeting, he handed over important tasks to Cormac.

By the time Alaric got home, it was already dark. As soon as he walked in, he asked the servant, "Where's Stellan?"

"Mrs. Knight is asleep."

Alaric quickly went upstairs to the bedroom. Stellan was still asleep, which was normal in the early stages of pregnancy.

Just as Alaric was about to leave, Stellan woke up, and Alaric felt particularly apologetic.

"Did I wake you?"

"No, I was just..." Before Stellan could finish, a wave of nausea hit her. She hurried to the bathroom and vomited into the toilet.

Alaric stayed by her side, feeling heartbroken. He gently patted her back and asked the servant to bring some water.

After Stellan finished vomiting, Alaric handed her the water, and she rinsed her mouth.

"Are you feeling better?"

"Better after throwing up." Stellan replied.

"You weren't vomiting before. Why is it so bad now?"

"Morning sickness is a normal reaction. It'll get better in a few months."

Alaric carried her back to the bedroom, placing her on the bed. "I didn't hear Cormac say Rowena had such bad morning sickness."

"Everyone reacts differently. Some people have no symptoms from pregnancy to delivery, while others have morning sickness the whole time."

Hearing this, Alaric frowned. The baby already had a risk of deformity, and if the pregnancy was difficult, they might have to terminate it.

"What's with that look?" Stellan manually smoothed out his frown. "Rowena is pregnant, and Cormac is so excited. Look at you, always worried."

"Rowena's situation is different from yours. Cormac is just waiting to be a dad, so of course, he's happy."

"Aren't you the same? Even though this is your second time being a dad, you didn't get to experience it the first time. Now we can watch this baby be born together. How wonderful."

If the baby could be born safely, Alaric would be happy, but he feared something might go wrong.

"The baby will be born safely," Alaric uttered, trying to hide his worry. "I won't show my concern anymore. My bad. I'll be as happy as Cormac to welcome this baby."

"That's more like it." Stellan placed Alaric's hand on her belly. "Alaric, do you think it's a boy or a girl?"

"Hopefully a girl. Then we'll have two sons and two daughters. Perfect."

"Great." Stellan imagined happily. "If Rowena has a boy and I have a girl, and they are born around the same time, it would be wonderful. We could even arrange their marriage in advance."

"No, absolutely not!"

Alaric was terrified of arranged marriages. "For the sake of our family's and the Nash family's long-term relationship, let's not do that. Let the kids decide their own marriages when they grow up. We parents shouldn't meddle."

Seeing Alaric so scared, Stellan couldn't help but laugh.

"By the way, have you asked about Gillian? Is she still mad and not coming back?" Stellan asked.
