Chapter 559: The Life-Saving Grace, Truly Impossible to Repay
Indeed, ever since she got pregnant, Alaric felt more anxious than Stellan, constantly worried about the baby.
"Rowena!" Upon seeing Rowena, Stellan quickly waved to her. Aurora was accompanying Rowena, as it was the weekend and Aurora had the day off.
"Stellan," Rowena responded, then walked towards them holding Aurora's hand.
"Why is Aurora with you? Where's Cormac?" How could Cormac not be here for such an important pregnancy check-up?
"I called you on a whim today, and since Aurora was home, she came with me," Rowena explained. "Cormac has been very busy with work lately. He was supposed to accompany me for a check-up next week, but seeing how tired he is, I didn't want to disturb him. Since you were coming today, I decided to surprise him after the check-up."
Hearing this, Stellan said tp Alaric, "Did you hear that? You're a good boss, leaving all the work to Cormac."
"No, that's not what I meant!" Rowena hurriedly explained, seeing Stellan blame Alaric.
Alaric awkwardly smiled and quickly admitted his fault, "My bad, I'll head back to the office after your check-up."
Since the last misunderstanding, Alaric and Rowena hadn't seen each other. Now that they met, Alaric didn't know how Rowena felt, but he still felt awkward.
Stellan noticed his discomfort and quickly pulled Rowena aside, saying, "Alaric has already contacted the hospital director. Let's go, Rowena, we'll go together."
"Okay." Rowena nodded.
The two of them linked arms, with Aurora beside them, and Alaric followed behind.
Since they were at different stages of pregnancy, Stellan and Rowena had different check-ups. Aurora accompanied Rowena into one examination room, while Alaric accompanied Stellan into another.
Once inside, Alaric's heart started racing, feeling particularly nervous.
"How is it? Is the baby developing normally?" Alaric anxiously asked as soon as the check-up began.
"Mr. Knight, please don't worry, we're still examining." The doctor replied.
Stellan couldn't help but smile and reassured Alaric, "Stay calm."
Alaric had to calm down and waited quietly until the doctor finished the examination before asking again, "How is it?"
"Don't worry, Mr. Knight, everything's fine with the baby."
Hearing this, both Alaric and Stellan breathed a sigh of relief. The baby was fine, which was a huge relief.
"Because Mrs. Knight's situation is special, don't wait until five months for the next check-up. Come back in four months," the doctor advised.
"Okay."
After the check-up, Alaric helped Stellan out of the examination room. Stellan gently touched her belly and smiled, "Our baby is doing great and will be born safely."
"Yes, definitely."
At that moment, they saw Aurora and Rowena coming out of the examination room with their check-up reports. Alaric and Stellan quickly went to meet them.
Since Rowena was already five months pregnant, she had a 4D ultrasound. The images on the report were very clear, showing the baby's little hands and feet and the overall condition.
"Wow, the baby is so cute, you can see everything so clearly!" Stellan exclaimed after taking a look.
"Yes," Aurora spoke excitedly, "You can even see the little nose and eyes. The baby looks like Uncle Cormac."
"Aurora, you have such good eyesight. You can tell the baby looks like Cormac?"
"Yes, Aunt Rowena, look, the features are so similar."
After Aurora pointed it out, Rowena also thought the baby looked like Cormac.
"Such an adorable baby," Stellan looked again and again. Rowena uttered, "You'll see yours soon too, in two months."
Seeing Rowena's 4D ultrasound report, Stellan couldn't wait to reach five months to see her own baby clearly.
"Alright, Stellan, I need to take Aurora shopping for some clothes. We'll head out now." Rowena voiced.
"Okay, be careful on the way." Stellan replied.
After seeing Rowena and Aurora off, Stellan spoke, "Everything is normal, so you can relax now. Go back to work, don't stay home with me."
"Got it, I'll go tomorrow," Alaric agreed, checking the time. "The hospital is finished, let's take a look today."
"Okay, let's call Josep. He mentioned wanting to see the new hospital."
"Alright, I'll call him now."
Alaric called Josep, who was free since it was the weekend. After leaving the hospital, Alaric drove to pick up Josep.
Josep was still staying at a hotel, and Alaric apologized, "Josep, I've been busy taking care of Stellan and forgot you were still at the hotel. I'll have my assistant arrange immediately."
"No need, Mr. Knight, Tommy is already handling it," Josep explained. "I initially thought I wouldn't stay long in Arizona, so a hotel was fine. But since the medical research institute is opening a branch here, I won't be leaving anytime soon."
"The research institute is opening a branch in Arizona?" Stellan was excited to hear this. "That's great, I'll get to see you often."
"I didn't expect it either. Tommy and Gillian invited me to dinner a few days ago and mentioned it. I left the matter to Tommy, and he's helping me find a house." Josep replied.
"Let us help you find a house. I'm free now, and Tommy is very busy." Stellan explained, recalling how busy Tommy was when she helped Gillian find a housekeeper.
"Nexus Innovations has several real estate projects in Arizona, so finding a house will be easy."
"Yes, Josep," Alaric added, "After we visit the hospital, we'll take you to see Nexus Innovations' properties. Let us know if you like any, and if not, we'll keep looking."
"No, that's too much trouble for you. Let Tommy handle it."
"It's no trouble at all," Alaric explained. "You saved my life. A house is nothing compared to that."
Was Alaric suggesting giving Josep a house?
"No, Mr. Knight, that's too generous. I can't accept it," Josep refused hurriedly. "Please don't!"
"Josep, it's the least we can do. You saved Alaric's life. We didn't know how to thank you before, but now that you're staying in Arizona, it's the least we can do." Stellan added.
"No, absolutely not!" Josep insisted. "Saving lives is my duty. If you insist, I'll get out of the car right now."
