Chapter 553: "Harry, the house is in your hands now."
Alaric was most afraid of this. Elisa was now crying heavily, and Stellan's eyes were also red.
"This is what Caspian wants to do, we need to support him," Alaric explained at this moment. "Caspian certainly doesn't want to leave us either. He's already feeling very reluctant and sad. Let's not give him so much pressure. Caspian is going to be a general in the future. Shouldn't we be happy for him?"
Hearing Alaric say this, Stellan, who had been holding back tears, suddenly burst into tears. Seeing Stellan cry, Caspian hurriedly comforted her, "Mommy, don't cry. You still have a baby in your belly. Please don't cry; it's not good for the baby."
The more Caspian said this, the more Stellan couldn't hold back. She truly felt Marigold's emotions from back then and felt very heartbroken. Caspian was so young and had to leave home for the military.
"Alright, everyone stop crying. This is a good thing, why cry?" In this atmosphere, Alaric naturally had to appear very firm. "Caspian has grown up and has his own ideas. We should all support him and be proud of him."
After saying this, Alaric looked at the time and quickly said, "Alright, hurry up and go to school, or you'll be late."
Alaric didn't go to drop them off today. He arranged for a driver. After the three kids left, only Alaric and Stellan were left at the dining table.
Now that Caspian was gone, Stellan couldn't hold back anymore. Alaric quickly went over, held her in his arms, and comforted her, "I know you can't bear it, and neither can I. But last night, Caspian was very determined. He said that if he wasn't allowed to go, it would be a regret for him for the rest of his life. Caspian has grown up. If he wants to go, let him go."
Stellan couldn't say anything now. She also thought about using crying and fussing to keep Caspian, but if she really did that, Caspian might stay, but as Alaric said, it would be a regret it forever.
Stellan didn't speak, and Alaric didn't say anything more. He just held her until her emotions calmed down a bit. Then he voiced, "I'll call Mr. Emberlyn and get someone to speed up handling the school transfer."
"Okay." Stellan's voice was trembling, "You go ahead, I'll go back to sleep for a while."
Alaric knew she was definitely going to cry secretly. There was no way around it; if she wanted to cry, let her cry.
Alaric called Thomas. Caspian had talked to Thomas last night, but Thomas didn't expect the decision to come so quickly.
"Really decided?" Thomas asked.
"Yes." Alaric replied, "He's very determined, so let's respect him."
"Yes, he's your son. When Caspian told me yesterday, I was really shocked," Thomas spoke. "It really feels like twenty years ago, but your reason for joining the military wasn't as pure as Caspian's. In this regard, Caspian is better than you."
"Yes, I am ashamed."
"I'll ask one last time, are you completely sure?" Thomas explained, "I can only communicate with the military and have them specially recruit Caspian. You know I'm retired; I can't take care of him. I can only get him in, and the rest is up to him. He's even younger than you were when you joined the military."
"I believe in him."
"Alright, leave it to me."
"Mr. Emberlyn, sorry to trouble you."
"You're welcome," Thomas replied. "Wait for my news, it will be soon."
Thomas was in the principal's office at Arizona University, saying he wanted to help Gillian with a thorough inspection, so he came directly and had almost finished understanding everything.
"How is it?" Gillian asked eagerly when he came out. "Arizona University's finance department is internationally renowned, very impressive."
"Because it's impressive, it's very hard to get in," Thomas didn't have much confidence in Gillian. "With your level? It will be difficult."
"I can't do it alone, but I have an excellent mentor. With Tommy teaching me, how could I fail?"
In the day spent with Gillian, Thomas had grown tired of hearing the name "Tommy" as Gillian mentioned it constantly.
"Alright, you prepare slowly. I might have to go back early."
"Really? When are you leaving?" Gillian was completely eager upon hearing this.
Seeing Gillian like this, Thomas was really hurt and scolded, "Raising you with so much effort all these years, all wasted!"
"Don't say that. In the future, Tommy and I will definitely take good care of you and provide for you."
"No need, just don't make me angry." Thomas had other important matters to attend to.
Gillian, knowing he was leaving, was overjoyed and quickly called Tommy, "Tommy, I have good news. My dad is about to leave Arizona!"
Caspian's decision to join the military was finalized. The transfer procedures were completed, and Thomas had also handled everything. All that was left was for Thomas to take him there.
The night before Caspian left, the atmosphere at The Knight Mansion was very sad. Stellan cried while packing his luggage, Elisa was also crying, and even the talkative Harry had been silent recently.
Today, Caspian was leaving. The entire Knight family, along with Tommy and Gillian, went to see him off.
When Thomas took Caspian's hand, Harry, who hadn't cried, suddenly burst into tears. He looked at Caspian and asked, "Caspian, you'll come back often, right?"
"We're all boys, why cry? No crying allowed!" Caspian spoke sternly, then joked, "I'm leaving, no one will compete with you for the family inheritance, aren't you happy?"
"Who cares about that inheritance? I'm not Elisa."
"Don't slander me!" Elisa cried and scolded, "I'm already very sad, and you're still slandering me."
With that, Elisa cried even harder.
"Caspian, are you cheating? You can't win an argument with me, so you're running away. If you leave, who will argue with me every day?" Harry asked.
"All you think about is arguing." Caspian, as the older brother, sternly instructed Harry, "Rook, I'm leaving, and the family is in your hands. Take care of Dad and Mom, take care of Elisa and the unborn baby. If anything happens at home, I won't forgive you!"
"Got it, you're not the only hero, I am too!"
After all the instructions, Stellan stepped forward, lovingly caressed Caspian's face, and cautioned him, "Caspian, take good care of yourself in the military, don't get hurt."
Stellan only wished for his safety and health; everything else was unimportant.
"Okay, I will, Mommy. When the baby is born, make sure to tell me."
"Okay."
"Caspian, good luck!" Alaric had only this to say.
"Alright, I have to take Caspian now. You all should go back," Thomas voiced.
Caspian waved to them, and Thomas took his hand and walked inside.
Just as he was about to pass the security checkpoint, Harry ran up crying and shouted, "Caspian, whether it's ten years, twenty years, or thirty years, I want you to come back safely!"
"Don't worry, I'm still waiting for you to willingly call me brother!" Caspian waved to him again, "I'm leaving, the family is in your hands."
With that, Caspian followed Thomas inside, disappearing from Harry's sight.
"Jerk, can't win an argument so you run away." Harry muttered hoarsely.
