Chapter 590 Is This What He Meant by Doing a Good Deed Every Day?

Josep was missing?

"Alright, I got it. I'll keep a close eye on Tommy," Neil said before hanging up the phone.

Ever since Tommy turned himself in, Neil's mind had been in a fog. He still couldn't believe that Tommy was connected to Tiger, and he didn't understand how this was related to his cousin Josep.

Neil had already investigated everyone connected to the Storm family, ruling out all possible suspects. Josep had never even been on his radar.

So where did this Josep come from? And was he connected to Tiger too?

"Mr. Jackson, why does this whole thing feel so surreal? Are we the police, or is Alaric the police?" Vernon was alsoconfused, his head full of questions.

"I messed up where I thought I had it all figured out," Neil instructed Vernon. "Forget everything else for now. Increase the police presence and keep a close watch on Tommy."

"Come on, who would still try to break someone out of jail these days? That's just asking for trouble."

"Just do what I tell you and stop complaining."

"Got it, Mr. Jackson." Vernon quickly went off to follow Neil's orders.

When Alaric returned, Stellan immediately asked, "Alaric, did you find Josep?"

"No, there's no one at his place."

Hearing this, Stellan quickly tried calling Josep again, but his phone was still off.

"Josep wouldn't just turn off his phone and disappear for no reason. Could something have happened to him?"

After making calls for so long, Josep's phone was off, and he was not home either. Stellan was really worried.

"I've already called Neil. He's looking into it."

Stellan was about to say something else when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Alaric quickly supported her, saying, "You're pregnant now, don't stress yourself out. Let me help you lie down."

Alaric helped Stellan to the bed, but she still reminded him, "Don't forget to find Josep. He has no family here except for Mr. Reaves, and Mr. Reaves is out of town."

"Don't worry, Neil will let me know as soon as he finds anything. Try not to worry too much."

Stellan was in the difficult late stages of pregnancy, struggling with mobility and a lack of appetite. Alaric tried to avoid telling her anything that might cause her stress.

After Stellan finally fell asleep, Alaric stayed by her side, deep in thought.

Josep's sudden disappearance left him uneasy. Had Josep run away, or was he in trouble?

Two days later, there was still no news about Josep, and today was also the anniversary of Marigold's death.

Alaric had already prepared offerings for the memorial. Because of Josep's situation, Stellan had been particularly anxious and unwell these past two days, so Alaric took her to the hospital.

"Today is my mom's anniversary. You should stay here and rest. Rowena and Gillian are also at the hospital. If you get bored, you can talk to them."

Gillian had been hospitalized for a while, and Rowena, nearing her due date, had been admitted early because Cormac didn't want her to be alone at home.

"Don't worry about me. You need to go pay your respects to your mom, and don't forget about Josep."

"I won't, I promise."

Just as Alaric finished speaking, Cormac, Rowena, and Gillian walked in together.

Since Stellan had gone home earlier, Rowena, who was at the hospital for her delivery, had visited Gillian. When they heard Stellan was hospitalized due to stomach pain, they rushed over.

"Stellan, isn't Alaric treating you like a treasure? How did he let you get stomach pains?" Gillian asked.

"Stomach pains are normal." Seeing Gillian out of bed, Stellan asked, "Gillian, are you okay? Can you walk around?"

"I've been in bed for over a month. The doctor said I could move around a bit. Don't worry, I'm feeling much better."

"That's good. You just recovered, so don't rush it. If you feel tired, make sure to rest in bed."

"I know, don't worry, Stellan."

Because Rowena was heavily pregnant, Cormac helped her to the couch and asked, "Are you comfortable sitting here? If not, you can lie down on the bed."

"I'm fine." Rowena was a bit resigned about being in the hospital so early. "My due date is still over ten days away. Isn't it too early to be here?"

"It's not too early. The due date is just an estimate. Babies can come early or late. Some are born ten days or even two weeks early. It's safer for you to be here," Cormac explained.

"Rowena, you should listen to Cormac. He's right. It's normal for babies to come early. You should stay here and be ready," Stellan said.

"Alright, I guess we're lucky Stellan is the hospital director. We have the advantage."

"Me too," Gillian added. "I've been staying here for free for over a month. I should be paying, but my house burned down, and I need to buy a new one. I don't have extra money. Anyway, Alaric is rich. They won't miss my hospital fees."

Seeing Gillian's hopeful expression, Alaric didn't know what to say, so he remained silent.

"Seeing Rowena and my Stellan with their big bellies makes me envious," Gillian said, feeling a strong desire to become a mother herself.

"Once you recover, you'll get pregnant too, and it will happen soon," Rowena said this to comfort her, both Rowena and Stellan were unware of Tommy's current situation.

Gillian replied, "That's what I think too. I feel like I'm recovering quickly. Once Tommy comes back, I'll leave the hospital."

"Did Mr. Reaves say when he's coming back?" Stellan asked.

Gillian pouted, looking quite frustrated. "He keeps saying he's busy with some mission and can't take calls. Lately, we've only been texting. I can't hear his voice or video call him, but..."

Gillian's face lit up as she continued, "Is it true that distance makes the heart grow fonder? Or is it because we're communicating through screens? Tommy, who was always reserved, has become more expressive. He never said 'I love you' to my face before, but now he says it every day. I feel so happy."

Seeing Gillian's happiness, Stellan and Rowena couldn't help but tease her, while Alaric shot a sharp look at Cormac, who quickly looked away.

So this was Cormac's idea of doing a good deed every day? Pretending to be Tommy and telling Gillian "I love you" multiple times a day?
