Chapter 539: I owe him a great favor

After hearing what Gillian said, Alaric looked at Gillian and Tommy. Mia was brought back by them, and it was obvious that Tommy had found her.

"Thank you so much, Tommy."

That day, Stellan had called Tommy about Mia, and it hadn't been long before Mia was found.

"It's my job, no need to thank me."

Mia practically raised Stellan, and they were like mother and daughter. After being apart for so long, they were both really thrilled.

Stellan and Mia went upstairs to find a room to catch up. They had a lot to talk about.

After Stellan and Mia left, only Alaric, Gillian, and Tommy were left in the hall. Alaric felt he should express his gratitude to Tommy.

"Thanks for finding Mia."

"Mr. Knight, no need to thank me. It's just my job. Alright, I won't disturb you any longer."

"Goodbye, Alaric!"

Alaric watched Gillian and Tommy leave. From the day Tommy became a cop, Alaric knew he would owe Tommy a favor.

And Alaric hated owing people favors, especially Tommy. But now he owed Tommy, and he had to repay it as soon as possible.

Alaric looked upstairs again. Mia was back, and she and Stellan had a lot to talk about. He couldn't take his nap with Stellan, so he went to Nexus Innovations.

After leaving The Knight Mansion, Tommy first took Gillian home. When the car stopped downstairs, he spoke, "Gillian, you must be exhausted from the long drive. Go home and rest."

"What about you?"

"I only took a half-day off. I need to go back to the station now."

"After such a tiring trip, you have to go back to work without rest?"

Tommy patted her head reassuringly and cooed, "Don't worry, I'm in great shape. I'll be fine. Go home, and I'll be back after work."

"Alright, but don't overwork yourself. Take care of your health."

"Okay." Gillian kissed him on the lips before reluctantly getting out of the car.

By this time, Alaric had also arrived at Nexus Innovations. Seeing him suddenly appear, Cormac was surprised.

"What brings you here today?"

"Stop with the sarcasm!" Alaric replied. "Mia is back. Stellan is chatting with her, and I had nothing to do at home, so I came over."

"Mia is back? Did she come back on her own?"

"No, Tommy found her and brought her back."

"Tommy? Your rival again?"

"Cormac!"

"Alright, I won't joke about it." Cormac uttered seriously, "Wasn't Neil in charge before? He couldn't find her for so long, but Tommy did?"

"I looked into it with the police. Apparently, after Tommy took over Mia's missing case, he was very dedicated. His subordinates suggested closing the case multiple times, but Tommy refused. He went to many places himself, contacted various departments, and did a lot of work to find Mia."

"That's quite an effort." Cormac commented. "Even though it's his job, he did find Mia. You owe him a favor."

"Yes, although I hate to admit it, it's true." Alaric replied.

"This Tommy is really something. If he were your rival, would you lose?" As Cormac met Alaric's sharp gaze after speaking, he quickly looked away. "I'm just kidding. With your skills, how could you lose? No matter how cunning Tommy is, he can't escape your grasp, right?"

Alaric said nothing. He felt uneasy, but he couldn't pinpoint why. He didn't even dare to think about it further.

Now, Gillian was completely in love with Tommy. Stellan was definitely grateful to him for finding Mia, and even without Mia's case, Stellan had a good impression of him.

Moreover, Tommy had a great reputation in his field. If he had any bad intentions, the consequences could be dire.

"Alright, get back to work and stop bothering me." Alaric said to Cormac.

"Okay, I won't bother you. You get busy."

After Cormac left, Alaric fell into deep thought. His unease grew stronger. After a long time, he called Thomas.

Even though it wasn't his place to interfere in their relationship, as Gillian had said, he shouldn't secretly complain to Thomas.

But Thomas had entrusted Gillian to Alaric when he left Arizona, and Gillian was still immature. Now that she was living with Tommy, he couldn't keep this from Thomas.

If something happened in the future, he wouldn't be able to explain it to Thomas.

"Alaric."

"Mr. Emberlyn." Alaric voiced politely. "Are you busy? Is it convenient to talk?"

"Yes, I'm at home."

"Good. I'm calling about Gillian."

"What about Gillian? Did she get into trouble again?"

"No, no trouble. It's about her personal relationship." Alaric replied directly. "She's in a relationship with Tommy. Did she tell you?"

"What? She's dating Tommy? Since when?" Thomas was shocked. "She just went to Arizona a few days ago. Didn't you say she was just renting Tommy's place because she wasn't comfortable at your house?"

Alaric had indeed withheld some information last time, but now he couldn't hide it anymore.

"Mr. Emberlyn, don't be upset. Young people fall in love quickly. Don't blame Gillian." Alaric explained when he heard Thomas getting anxious.

"Gillian is so irresponsible! And she didn't even tell me about such a big thing!"

Thomas only had one daughter, and he wanted to keep her close. He didn't want her to marry far away. When she went abroad for school, he worried she would marry a foreigner and settle there. Now that she was back, he was relieved.

He hoped she would find a job nearby and get married there. But now!

"Mr. Emberlyn, I just..."

"I'm booking a flight right now. I'm flying to Arizona. I need to teach Gillian a lesson!"

"Mr. Emberlyn, you don't need to..."

The call was already disconnected. Now Thomas was flying to Arizona?
