Chapter 558: Daddy, I Can Only Help You This Much

Gillian opened the message Stellan had sent her, which contained several hotel recommendations as per her request.

"Stellan is so quick, she sent this over so fast."

Tommy glanced at the message content and then asked, "What's this?"

"I asked Stellan to help me find a housekeeper today. Aren't we going to invite Uncle Josep for dinner? So I asked Stellan to recommend a few restaurants."

"You've gotten quite close with Mrs. Knight." Tommy was a bit surprised, as it seemed they didn't get along very well before.

"I don't know many people in Arizona, and after getting to know Stellan, I found her to be quite nice," Gillian spoke, a bit embarrassed. "After all, I once had a thing for her husband, and she didn't hold it against me."

"You had a crush on Mr. Knight?"

Gillian only then realized she had said too much and quickly explained, "Looking back, it wasn't really a crush. I just admired him since I was young, and it just so happened that when I came to Arizona, he was having a fight with his wife. I mistakenly thought Stellan wasn't doing well, so I had some silly thoughts. But luckily, because of those silly thoughts, I ended up staying at their house. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met you."

At this point, Gillian couldn't help but smile, her face lighting up. "I met my true soulmate."

Tommy was already used to Gillian's loving and excited words.

"And you? Have you ever liked anyone?"

"You," Tommy answered straightforwardly, then added, "Only you."

Hearing this, Gillian couldn't help but blush and her heart raced. She cupped his face with both hands and uttered, "Tommy, you don't flirt often, but when you do, it's killer."

"It's not that exaggerated. I'm just telling the truth."

"Well, I'm telling the truth too," Gillian then showed him the hotels Stellan had recommended. "Tommy, pick one. Let's invite Uncle Josep for dinner tonight."

"Okay, I'll call Uncle Josep. He's been invited to give lectures at various hospitals recently, so I'm not sure if he's free tonight."

"Hurry up and call him. If he's not free, we can schedule it for another time. We definitely need to treat him to a meal and properly thank Uncle Josep."

"Alright, I'll call him now."

Tommy called Josep, and as expected, Josep wasn't free that night, so they scheduled it for the next evening.

The two days Alaric had given Harry had passed, and after dinner, he took Harry to the study under the pretense of checking his homework.

Once in the study, Harry's expression was full of resentment. "You said it wasn't urgent, but as soon as the two days were up, you were practically chasing me like a wolf."

"I trust you. If you says two days, then it will be done in two days. Hand over the assignment."

Harry pouted helplessly and opened a computer file. "It's all in there. Take a look yourself."

Alaric sat down at the computer and began to read seriously. Rather than a personal profile, it was more like a list of accolades.

Because Josep came from a family of doctors and had never married or had children, his background was simple, and his resume was straightforward.

He had been a top student since childhood, and especially after becoming a doctor, he had won numerous awards, including medical contribution awards and outstanding medical achievement awards.

Just the fact that he could stand out among medical professors worldwide and be elected as the dean of the Institute of Medical Pioneers made him an extraordinary person.

"That's it?" Alaric felt he had gained nothing after reading it.

"His entire life history is in there. What more do you want?" Harry retorted. "Do you want me to calculate how long Mr. Josep Watkins will live? I don't have that ability."

Alaric gave a wry smile.

Seeing Alaric's dissatisfaction, Harry quickly added, "This is all the information I could find. Like last time when you asked me to look into Mr. Reaves, I found a lot. If I could even find out he was an undercover cop, I wouldn't be here, Daddy. I'd be taken away by the International Investigation Bureau. I've done my best. I can only help you this much. Please don't make it too hard for me. I'm still a kid, Daddy. Please remember I'm still a kid!"

Seeing Harry looking so helpless and upset, Alaric felt a bit heartbroken. He quickly hugged him and patted his head to comfort him.

"Harry is amazing. You've worked hard."

"I'm not tired, just unlucky."

Alaric glanced at Josep's profile again and couldn't understand, "Such an outstanding person, yet he remained unmarried his whole life."

"Is it that hard to understand?" Harry explained helplessly. "Not everyone needs marriage. Mr. Josep Watkins pursued his career and medical research, dedicating his life to human health. You, however, decided to start a family once you had enough money. Everyone has their own path."

Hearing this, Alaric couldn't help but laugh and nod. "Yes, Harry, you're absolutely right."

"But you're also contributing to humanity by passing on your great genes. It's a form of contribution, right?"

Hearing this, Alaric gave a wry smile. Truly his son!

"Harry, I don't care about others, but you must get married when you grow up. Don't waste your excellent genes, okay?" Alaric stood up, patted Harry's shoulder, and left the study.

Watching Alaric leave, Harry pouted and muttered to himself, "Are you complimenting me or yourself?"

The information Harry found on Josep was essentially fruitless, just like Tommy, whose profile was perfect and flawless.

In the following period, Josep stayed in Arizona, and Tommy and Gillian treated him to a nice meal.

Meanwhile, it was finally time for Stellan's three-month prenatal checkup. The night before, Alaric was so nervous he couldn't sleep, worried that the checkup might reveal problems.

Early in the morning, Alaric was too anxious to eat breakfast and took Stellan to the hospital. As soon as they arrived, her phone rang. It was Rowena calling.

"Hello, Rowena," Stellan felt like she hadn't seen Rowena in a long time.

"Stellan, it must be time for your prenatal checkup, right? I was thinking of scheduling it with you."

"You're just in time. I'm already at the hospital. Why don't you come over?"

"Sure, wait for me. I'll be there soon."

"No rush, drive safely," Stellan spoke before hanging up.

Alaric voiced, "You two are really close friends, even scheduling prenatal checkups together."

"Of course, it's quite a coincidence for two friends to be pregnant at the same time. Naturally, we should do the checkups together."

But her checkup wasn't as relaxed as Rowena's. Alaric was visibly nervous, and seeing him so tense, Stellan laughed, "Mr. Knight, you're more nervous than I am. Don't worry, everything will be fine."
