Chapter 599 Hanging by a Thread

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable..."

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable..."

Cormac ran out, first trying to call Alaric, then Neil, but neither of them could be reached. What the hell was going on?

Alaric just took off with Neil to catch that tiger without saying a word? So irresponsible! Not even a message to let them know. What a jerk!

With no way to reach Alaric by phone, Cormac decided to head to the police station. If he couldn't find anyone else, at least Tommy was locked up there and couldn't run away. He could get some answers from him.

Cormac hurried downstairs, but the VitalityCare Medical Center was packed every day now. Despite the numerous elevators, each one was crammed full. Finally, an elevator heading down opened on his floor, and Cormac quickly jumped in.

Just as he was about to press the close button, a delivery guy with a package squeezed in, making the elevator even more crowded. Hearing some complaints, the delivery guy apologized, "Sorry, this package is urgent for a patient. I went to the wrong floor earlier. My bad, really sorry."

It was just a small, everyday occurrence, and Cormac didn't pay much attention at first. As the elevator started descending, the delivery guy stood right next to him, the package brushing against Cormac's clothes.

"Sorry about that, it touched your clothes," the delivery guy apologized politely.

"No problem," Cormac replied, too rushed to care about such things. But as he spoke, his eyes fell on the package.

A package?

Cormac suddenly remembered the package with the threatening letter. And the photos? Photos?

No wonder Alaric had a sudden realization when he saw that album. He must have gone to confront that bastard butler. He must be tied up right now. But why would the other side send such a video to Stellan?

To scare her into early labor? And then what? Just to make her give birth early?

No, something's wrong!

"Move, move!" Realizing this, Cormac pushed his way to the front, frantically pressing the elevator buttons. When the doors opened, he bolted out.

He had already gone down two floors. Seeing the crowded elevators, he decided to take the stairs, sprinting up to the nurse's station. Panicked, he asked, "Where did that doctor take your Director Storm?"

"Where did they take Director Storm? I didn't notice. Probably to the delivery room?"

They didn't know where she went?

"Notify the security room to check the cameras immediately. Get all the hospital security to the delivery rooms. Search every room. You must find Director Storm, now!"

Seeing Cormac in such a state, the nurse was frightened and quickly asked, "Is something wrong with Director Storm? Why?"

"No time to explain. Just do as I say. It's a matter of life and death, now!"

"Okay," the nurse responded quickly.

After instructing the nurse, Cormac sprinted towards the delivery rooms. Rowena had just given birth this morning, so he was familiar with the VIP delivery rooms. If someone wanted to avoid detection, they would likely take Stellan to a VIP room.

Those VIP rooms were large and completely isolated from the regular delivery rooms. Only the delivering doctor, assistant doctors, the patient, and their family would be inside. No outsiders would enter.

If someone wanted to make a move, it would be convenient there.

Without waiting for news from the security room, Cormac started searching from the first VIP delivery room. Finally, he saw the doctor!

Just as the doctor was about to close the delivery room door, Cormac blocked it with his hand, panting heavily and unable to speak.

"Is there something wrong, Mr. Nash?" the doctor asked, seeing Cormac in such a state.

"Where's Director Storm?" Cormac asked, still out of breath.

"Director Storm is inside, about to undergo a C-section. If you're not family, please wait in the VIP lounge."

Family members could accompany the delivery, but it was inappropriate for Cormac to be there for Stellan.

As the doctor tried to close the door again, Stellan's painful moan came from inside. Without another word, Cormac pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing him force his way in, the doctor's eyes narrowed. He locked the door and pushed a wardrobe in front of it to block it.

"Galatea!"

The VIP delivery room was large, with the delivery area in an inner section. Cormac rushed in, seeing Stellan in pain on the delivery bed, with the assistant doctors and nurses all knocked out on the floor.

"Cormac, save my baby."

Stellan, in pain from the shock, knew she was going into early labor. As a doctor, she understood her condition. The doctor had pushed her into the delivery room, and she hadn't suspected anything. She was helped onto the delivery bed for a C-section, with the anesthetist, assistant doctors, and nurses all coming in.

It seemed like a normal C-section procedure, but just as it was about to start, the doctor knocked everyone out.

"Mrs. Knight, blame your husband for meddling too much. But don't worry, I won't kill you yet. You're still useful as a hostage. When my boss says you're no longer needed, then I'll kill you. So for now, you'll have to endure a bit, okay?"

If the goal was simply to kill her, it would be easy. But she was still useful, so he had to act naturally, letting the anesthetist and others in before knocking them out and locking the door.

Isolating Stellan completely, it would seem to everyone that she was undergoing a C-section inside, with no suspicion. But then Cormac barged in!

Seeing this, Cormac knew he was right. Just as he was about to speak to Stellan, she shouted, "Cormac, watch out!"

Hearing this, Cormac quickly dodged, avoiding the doctor's knife.

"Mr. Nash, you walked into your death. Don't blame anyone else!"

The doctor said, flexing his muscles and lunging at Cormac with the knife. Cormac grabbed his hand, but the doctor was strong, clearly trained.

The doctor pushed down hard, forcing Cormac back against a table of medical equipment, making him lean back.

The doctor aimed the knife at Cormac's neck, and Cormac used all his strength, veins bulging on his forehead and neck.

Cormac's arms began to shake from the effort, but he couldn't stop the knife from coming down. The blade touched his neck, and blood slowly seeped out from the tip.
