Chapter 520: Alaric, I hate you!
"Gillian, what are you doing!" Alaric shouted at Gillian angrily.
When Alaric walked in, he saw the scene where Gillian's hand shook, spilling hot water all over Stellan's hand. The scalding water caused Stellan's hand to instantly swell and turn red.
In a panic, Alaric pushed Gillian away from Stellan. Gillian lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Seeing Stellan's hand burned like that, Alaric couldn't care about anything else and quickly tended to her wound.
She was already pregnant, and the baby was likely to be deformed. Alaric felt heartbroken, and now her hand was burned for no reason.
"How is it? Does it hurt a lot?" Alaric asked hurriedly after treating the wound.
"It's fine."
As soon as Stellan finished speaking, they heard Gillian's cry of pain. When Alaric pushed her, She cut her hand on the broken glass from the cup on the floor.
Gillian, who had been well-protected since childhood, was very delicate. Being pushed by Alaric and then cutting her hand made her feel both wronged and angry.
"Alaric, why did you push me? My hand is cut!" Gillian blamed angrily. "I was just trying to pour water for Stellan. I didn't mean to burn her. Why are you so harsh?"
"There are so many servants at home. If you can't do it, then don't. You burned Stellan's hand just by pouring water."
Seeing her hand, Alaric felt reallly heartbroken. Stellan was already pregnant and couldn't take many medications, and now her hand was burned like this.
"I said I didn't do it on purpose. Besides, it was Stellan who asked me to pour the water. I didn't volunteer to do it. My hand got burned too." The more Gillian spoke, the angrier and more aggrieved she felt. "Alaric, you only care about Stellan and don't distinguish right from wrong. I hate you!"
After saying that, Gillian ran out in a fit of anger. Seeing her run out, Stellan quickly explained, "Alaric, it was indeed me who asked Gillian to do that. No one wanted this to happen. She really didn't do it on purpose."
Alaric knew the situation, but seeing Stellan's hand burned like that, he couldn't stay calm.
As soon as Stellan finished speaking, there was a loud thunderclap outside. Stellan quickly added, "It's still raining outside, and it's getting dark. Gillian doesn't have no friends in Arizona. What if something happens to her? You should go after her!"
Alaric didn't expect Gillian to run out just because of his scolding. But looking at Stellan, whose hand was burned and seemed uncomfortable, he was also worried.
"Don't worry about me. Go find Gillian. If something happens to her, how will you explain it to Mr. Emberlyn?"
With no other choice, Alaric had to go find Gillian. He instructed Stellan, "Wait for me at home. If you feel unwell, call the doctor."
"Okay, go quickly and drive safely!"
Alaric hurried out and called Gillian, but she hung up on him.
Gillian was really angry. She ran out in rage and didn't expect the rain to be so heavy. But since she had already run out, she couldn't just go back. With the rain pouring down and hardly any taxis on the road, what was Gillian supposed to do?
"Alaric, you're such a jerk. I was so stupid to like you. You don't distinguish right from wrong and only care about Stellan. I shouldn't have poured that water for her! What does her stomachache have to do with me? I was just being nosy!" Gillian was furious and kept cursing Alaric.
Meanwhile, Alaric, who was driving to catch up, reached an crossroads shortly after leaving. He didn't know which way she had gone, so he had to search in each direction.
"What should I do? There are no taxis. What should I do?" Gillian muttered to herself.
Gillian didn't have an umbrella, and there were no taxis on the road. She tried to take out her phone to find the nearest hotel, but it wouldn't turn on in the heavy rain.
She really regretted it. Why did she hurt herself? Why did she run out? Now she was such a mess. What should she do now?
Go back?
No, if she went back, she would have no dignity left. But if she didn't go back, what would she do? With the rain pouring down and no place to stay, what if she died on the road?
Just then, a car stopped beside her. 'Was it Alaric who had caught up?'
"Get in the car!" Tommy yelled out.
To her surprise, it wasn't Alaric but Tommy. Why was he here? Gillian couldn't think of anything else and quickly got into the car.
As soon as she got in, Gillian sneezed. Tommy quickly turned on the heater and handed her his coat.
"Put this on quickly, hope you don't catch a cold." Tommy exhorted her hurriedly.
Feeling really cold, Gillian quickly put on Tommy's coat.
"The rain is so heavy, Ms. Emberlyn. Why are you out here alone?" Tommy asked with surprise.
Hearing this, Gillian got angry again. Seeing that she didn't want to talk, Tommy changed the subject, "Ms. Emberlyn, if you don't want to talk, that's fine. Where do you want to go? I'll take you."
Where to?
She was staying at The Knight Mansion, and she ran out of there in anger. Could she go back? No, absolutely not!
"I don't know." Gillian complained angrily, "Tommy, you tell me, Stellan said her stomach hurt and asked me to pour her some water. I was just trying to help. Who knew the water would overflow and burn my hand? I couldn't hold it steady, and it spilled, burning Stellan. It was my fault, but I didn't do it on purpose. I felt really sorry, but Alaric didn't ask anything and just got mad at me, even pushing me down. My hand got cut by glass shards, and he kept blaming me!"
Tommy sighed and comforted her, "Mr. Knight was indeed too hasty, but Mrs. Knight is pregnant, and his excessive concern is understandable."
"So, was it my fault?"
"Of course not. You were just trying to help. No one expected this to happen." Tommy brought up the question again again, "Since you don't want to go back to The Knight Mansion, where do you want to go? Should I book a hotel for you?"
"I don't want to stay in a hotel," Gillian hollered angrily. "He has power and influence in Arizona. Isn't it easy for him to find me in a hotel? What if he comes looking for me? I don't want to see him. I'm still angry!"
As soon as Gillian finished speaking, her phone rang again. Seeing it was Alaric calling, she immediately hung up and turned off her phone.
"In that case, come to my place first. You're already soaked. Let's get you dried off first so you don't catch a cold." Tommy proposed.
Unable to reach Gillian by phone, Alaric was at a loss.
He was silently cursing Gillian, 'So stubborn, running away just because of a few words!'
