Chapter 565: Why is her phone turned off?

After Tommy left, Gillian let out a big yawn. She hadn't slept well last night because she was particularly worried that Tommy might feel unwell.

"Vivienne, don't forget to sew Tommy's clothes later."

"Got it, Ms. Emberlyn."

Gillian planned to take another nap, but just as she was about to head back to the bedroom, the front door opened, and Tommy returned.

"Tommy, why are you back? Did you forget something?" Gillian asked.

"No, I got in the car and still felt this hangover, very dizzy, so I took a leave." Tommy explained.

"Are you feeling unwell again?" Gillian asked anxiously, "Do you need to see a doctor?"

"No need, I'll be fine after some rest."

"Then go to sleep quickly, I plan to continue sleeping too, let's sleep together." Gillian pulled Tommy over.

"Gillian, you go to the bedroom first. I drank too much last night and didn't take a shower, I'll take a shower first."

"Okay." Gillian was really sleepy now and yawned as she went back to the bedroom.

After seeing Gillian enter the bedroom, Tommy looked at Vivienne, who was cleaning up the dishes, "Vivienne, stop cleaning for now."

"Any instructions, Mr. Reaves?"

"I'll settle the bill with you later, starting tomorrow you don't need to come."

"Why?" Vivienne was very surprised, "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, we're planning to move recently, and money is a bit tight, so we don't plan to hire a housekeeper anymore," Tommy explained, "Sorry, Vivienne."

"I see." Vivienne took off her apron, tidied up, and left.

After Vivienne left, Tommy went into the bedroom, and Gillian was already asleep.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable."

Hearing this prompt, Stellan put down the phone and muttered in confusion, "Why is Gillian's phone off on a Sunday?"

"What's wrong?" Alaric asked.

Today was the weekend, Harry and Elisa were off, and Alaric and Stellan planned to take Harry and Elisa to the amusement park to meet Aurora.

Before leaving, Stellan received a call, then she called Gillian, but both times it prompted that Gillian's phone was off.

"I accompany Gillian to find a housekeeper before. At that time, we left a phone number at the housekeeping company, and I just received a call. Vivienne said she was dismissed by Tommy and wanted to ask if we needed a housekeeper at home."

Vivienne had been working for many years and knew that Stellan was now the mistress of a wealthy family. After leaving Tommy's house, she wanted to contact Stellan and work as a housekeeper at The Knight Mansion.

"So I wanted to ask Gillian about Vivienne being dismissed, but her phone was unreachable." Stellan explained.

As soon as Stellan finished speaking, Elisa hurriedly asked, "Daddy, Mommy, when can we leave? Aurora is waiting for us."

"Okay, soon." Stellan replied.

"Maybe her phone is out of battery, try calling again later, let's take the kids to meet Aurora first." Alaric spoke.

"Alright." Stellan then called out to Harry and Elisa, "Harry and Elisa, let's go."

Alaric and Stellan took Harry and Elisa out, and Cormac, Rowena, and Aurora were already waiting at the entrance of the amusement park.

Seeing their family coming, they were all very happy, but usually, it was Caspian, Harry, and Elisa, now only Harry and Elisa were left.

"Alaric, I haven't even complained to you yet, Caspian went to join the army and didn't tell me, I should have seen him off." Cormac complained.

"It was a sudden decision at the time, so we didn't think much about it." Alaric explained.

"Have you called to check? How is Caspian doing in the army?" Cormac was really worried.

"No need to ask, I trust Caspian." Alaric uttered.

"You are really a good father, so harsh on your own son."

Alaric didn't respond, did he think he could bear it?

"Is there any progress on the Storm family case? It's been so long." Cormac asked.

"Not yet," Alaric replied, "But a few days ago, I received a call from the police station saying my mom's case was closed."

Cormac cautiously looked around, Aurora, Harry, and Elisa had already gone inside to play, and Stellan and Rowena, the two pregnant women, were chatting enthusiastically.

Cormac then lowered his voice and asked, "Really closed?"

"Yes, Tommy ordered it, the case summary said my mom accidentally fell, no intentional or negligent homicide."

Hearing Alaric say this, Cormac was really surprised. Although the maid who insisted that Stellan pushed Marigold was dead, but...

The maid died, and the case was closed just like that?

"Although the maid died, she was very sure before she died, and the two maids you found, if the investigation continued, those two maids might not hold up. Tommy not continuing the investigation and closing the case is clearly helping you, isn't it?" Cormac asked.

That's the logic, if Tommy insisted on investigating the two maids he found, the result might be different.

But according to the police, Tommy insisted on closing the case, saying there was no need to look into further.

"Then Tommy is repaying evil with good, you targeted him so much, and he still helped you."

"When did I target him?" Hearing Cormac say this, Alaric was really angry, "Cormac, can you be more responsible with your words? When did I intentionally target him?"

"Alright, Mr. Knight is always fair and never intentionally targets him, I misspoke earlier, I was wrong, okay?"

Alaric glanced at him, too lazy to respond!

Today, Aurora, Harry, and Elisa had a great time together, and Stellan and Rowena, the two pregnant women, also had a great chat.

Alaric sat on a bench in the amusement park, deep in thought. Why was Tommy helping him so much? Was it to make him owe him more favors? What was the purpose?

Thinking of this, Alaric called Gillian.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable..."

Alaric looked at the time, he had been out for over two hours, and Gillian's phone was still off.

"Cormac, stay here with them, I need to go out."

After saying that, Alaric drove off in a hurry, driving as fast as he could to Tommy's neighborhood.

After getting out of the car, the elevator was crowded, so he climbed the stairs to the ninth floor and started knocking on Tommy's door.

After knocking for a while, the door finally opened, and it was Tommy who opened it.

"Mr. Knight?" Seeing Alaric at the door, Tommy was quite surprised, "What brings you here?"

"Where's Gillian?"

"Gillian didn't sleep well last night, she's sleeping now." Tommy replied.

Sleeping? Sleeping all day?

"I need to talk to her, wake her up and let her come out to see me." Alaric spoke.

"Gillian hates being disturbed when she's asleep, Mr. Knight, wait for another day." Tommy said as he was about to close the door, but Alaric quickly stopped him.
