Chapter 112

"Welcome home... Trent? Right?" Kyrah's dad says and he walks to shake hands with my dad.
"I've seen you before," dad ponders for a second. "On the news! Jones Bailey? This is incredible!" he pauses for another second. "I'm aware that Roxy has been staying here, I'm very grateful."
"Don't worry about it. Everyone is welcome here," Mr. Bailey says, showing my dad the way.
"Dad!" Vic calls out "Scott is right behind you, I've been staying at his house."
Dad turns and shakes Scott's hand.
"I appreciate your hospitality to my children," he turns to look around the room, "All of you. Thank you."
"Uhm... Since we're all mixed up and I'm sure we've all got some catching up to do, why don't we leave our parents here and move the party next door?" Kyrah asks me and her mom agrees, so do I.
"Great idea, honey," Mrs Bailey says "We'll ensure that your dad feels welcomed here, Roxy dear. Boy, do I have a lot of questions." She hides a smile.
"Don't grill him too much," I joke and she winks at me.
I then choose this moment to talk to everyone who came.
"Maeve! It's been ages! How are you doing?" I ask as I approach her.
After their exams everyone went their separate ways and not even a single soul started a conversation on our online group chat. It's been deserted for a while now.
"I'm great, Roxy. Happy to see you again, and happy birthday!" she says then pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose. She's lovely as ever. "Come here." She pulls me into a hug. Next I spot the twins.
"Ah! Heckle and Jeckle. Look at you two, so identical. But wait, before you say anything else, let me see if I can tell the difference between the two of you. Hmmm..." their physical features are so similar, the only difference is how they dress. Jim's clothes are usually less stylish. His brother on the other hand looks like he's into fashion.
"Aha! You're Jim." I point at the one wearing a blue polo shirt and khakis. "And you're Tim." I point at the other who's in black ragged jeans, a denim shirt and a red snap back. They both smile and I can say, I've never seen anything like this. It's like there's a mirror standing next to one of them.
"Yeah. Good to see you. Happy birthday you party animal," Jim says as he hugs me.
"Thanks," I chuckle. "I thought you guys left for good?"
"We managed to work some stuff out with our grandparents and now, we're here to stay and..." he pats Tim, "My brother here isn't your enemy. Infact he thinks you're pretty cool. I think you both have the same taste in music." He shrugs and Tim smirks.
"Alright then. We should all hang out some time." I pat Jim on his shoulder and move to where Scott is seated together with Kye, Tyler and Kyrah.
"Yoh! Ty, what's good bro? Still looking for a hot babe? Because all the babes in here are taken," I tease.
"Oh come on! You know they always ditch me in the end." He pouts as the rest laugh at him. "Happy birthday."
"Thanks," I say as I descend onto Kye's laps and swing my arms around his neck.
"We need to talk, right now," Kyrah says and I know she's serious.
"About my dad?" I question.
"Yeah, and other stuff," she says and I know something is bothering her.
"But first, let's move stuff to my house. Happy birthday Roxy. Today is your day and I'm glad I'm here to celebrate it with you. Twenty two looks good on you." Scott smiles and I hug him. He then leaves.
"Babe, I missed you. Happy birthday to my one and only," Kye says just as he kisses my neck, his arm snaking around my waist and I feel a tingling inside my stomach. If I'm not careful enough, my knickers will end up wetter than the ocean. This man drives me crazy!
"I missed you too and I'm sorry all of you couldn't reach us. I'll explain everything, I promise." I plant a kiss on his soft lips. Something I never thought I'd be doing on my twenty second birthday. "Could you give me some time? I need to talk to Kyrah, I'll see you at Scott's?"
"Alright," Kye says. "Hey, Scott, wait up!" he says then he leaves. Immediately, Kyrah grabs my forearm and doesn't let go till we get to her room upstairs.
"What's up?" I ask and she blinks twice, licks her lips and begins.
"I'm confused... Are you sure that man downstairs is your dad? I mean, you told everyone that he died years ago, and that scar on that guy's face is creepy," she says and sits on her bed and I follow suit.
"He truly is my father, Kyrah. Believe it or not, he's Scar," she gasps and her eyes go wider than I've ever seen them.
"What?" she frowns, "Scar is the guy downstairs? And he's your dad? How? I don't understand anything you're saying. Wh... Why didn't you tell me? First I thought your mom was dead then found out she wasn't and now it's your father? Also, haven't you been going to Wolf street alot? Did you go to see him?"
"I actually didn't know he was alive and that he owns Wolf street. Turns out he wasn't dead after all. The letters led us to the Street of the Damned, and we found him right there, with Olivia. It was a huge mess I tell you. I was angry, so was Vic, we yelled alot last night... You have to believe it, he's my dad, the difference is that he has a scar on his face."
"Okay, okay, what?" she closes her eyes for seconds and then opens them. "You can explain everything later, but how's Vic taking this?" she questions.
"At first it wasn't easy for him to accept the fact that dad wanted us to be together again. He blamed him for so many things. So did I but we finally thought critically. He's still our dad no matter where we are or where we go. We're just taking it slow. Anyway, this is a really long story, I've only briefed you the major parts. What's bothering you?"
