Chapter 156
After I lay Roxy next to Kyrah, I walk back downstairs and call Vic and he picks up a second later.
"Yeah?" he says.
"Where are you?" I ask.
"Just spending a little time with Wren, is anything wrong?" he asks.
"No, everything is fine, my dad's home, and your sister and Kyrah are dead drunk and you should see what Kyrah did to her car... Unbelievable!" I chuckle.
"What happened?"
"She smashed it. I came back and found all of its windows broken," I say and Vic laughs.
"I'm pretty sure it was Roxy's idea," he says.
"Of course it was. Err... Are you coming back later or did you guys move into the new house?"
"Hasn't Roxy told you?" he whispers.
"Told me what? And why are you whispering?" I frown.
"I'm whispering because I don't want Wren to know we got arrested last night–"
"You what? You're joking right?" I snort.
"No! I'll tell you about it later or maybe Roxy will tell you. Listen, I've got to go, Wren and I are at the mall and she's in a dressing room trying on a new outfit. Never, ever tell her that you know we got arrested. I'll see you later," he says.
"Alright then," I say and hang up.
Vic and Roxy got arrested last night, those two just surprise me every single day.
I leave Kyrah's house and head over to my car to get dad's stuff.

Later in the evening, right after helping my dad make us a meal. He begins his usual talks about life and how he's missed cooking and so much more. I have to say that he's a really good cook and I've learned some of his recipes and I'm not that bad at cooking either. Since Kyrah and Roxy were too drunk, I convinced my dad that we should cook a larger meal. He also knows Mrs. Bailey welcomes me to eat at her house, so he didn't argue, although I didn't tell him what those two were up to during the day.
A while ago when dad was taking a nap, I got Kyrah's car keys from her room, left the two of them dead asleep and drove the car into their garage and cleaned up all the mess that was left in front of her house and then went back to my house.
"It's almost 9pm and I'm a little tired. Aren't your friends coming for dinner?" dad asks.
"I don't know. But I could just take it to them and you can go to bed," I suggest.
"Okay," he says and dips his hand into his pocket and pulls out a black wrist watch, "I got you this," he hands it to me.
I stare down at the wrist watch and clearly it doesn't look like any normal watch. It shows what time it is but it's just... different from what I'm used to.
"It's a military watch. A Garmin tactix bravo tactical watch. It uses an EXO antenna to receive GPS or GLONASS reception for satellite tracking. Plus I have synced it with my phone, and I want you to press this button right here any time that you feel you need help, okay?" he says and I stare at him like he's speaking Korean.
"This is cool. Thanks," I say.
"It is water resistant too and I want you to have it with you all the time. Press that button and I'll get notified where you are within seconds. Now, enjoy your little gadget, I'm going to sleep." He stands up from the couch.
"Goodnight, dad," I say.
"Goodnight, son," he says and smiles as he leaves.

Roxy's POV
"Kyrah, wake up," I whisper. "I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat."
She rolls over on the bed and groans.
"Why did I drink that much? I feel so... heavy and my head hurts," she complains. "How did I get here?"
She doesn't even know who brought us both to her room. It's dark and the only light is coming from the moon through the open window. A soft breeze is pouring into the room, cooling my nerves. I drag myself out of bed and caress the wall as I look for the light switch. When I turn it on, Kyrah groans.
"Switch the lights off. It's too bright!" she whines, covering her eyes with her hands.
"No, wake up, lets go downstairs and think of what we're going to eat. Also, we've been feeding Snow for you, don't you think it's time you showed him some love?" I say. "Come on." I pull her from the bed and her hair covers her entire face and she pushes it back.
As we walk down the stairs, I hear people laughing. It must be Scott and Vic. The sound is coming from the kitchen and we drag our heavy selves there. We find Snow eating his meal quietly and Vic and Scott are seated at the kitchen island.
"Well, well, well. Look who just woke up. My partner in crime, Roxy, and Kyrah, my reformed friend," Vic jokes.
"What are you talking about?" Kyrah asks as we sit at the kitchen island with them.
"We didn't know that you could get that fierce, you really showed that car who's boss," he jokes.
"I was shocked. I thought something had happened... So, Roxy, how was your stay at the station?" Scott chuckles and my eyes dart to Vic. "Vic already told me everything– oh, and I brought you guys dinner. My dad is already asleep, but we have enough for everyone," Scott says and I thank the Almighty for such a thoughtful friend.
"Thanks, Scott," Kyrah mumbles and lays her head on top of the island. "Roxy could you–"
"I'll just serve everyone. I already ate," Scott stands up and warms the food for us in the microwave. "Anyway, Bailey... who did you say you were back at the station?"
Kyrah's eyes go wide open and she lifts her head and looks at me and I shake my head.
"Don't look at me. It was Vic," I say and Vic shrugs.
"The General's daughter-in-law..." Scott laughs. "I swear when Vic was telling me that, I did not see that coming."
"That's what I said," I say and notice color creeping up Kyrah's cheeks. She's blushing.
"But it was a good choice though." Scott winks at her and she swallows hard and looks at me. He really knows how to make her lighten up.
"Uhm... Sure," she says and I wiggle my eyebrows at her.
Vic chuckles. "I wish I had the strength in me to say what's going on here but, let me just sit back and enjoy," he pauses, "Change of plans. Kyrah you're blushing, Scott, you look smitten, can someone just join the dots?" Vic taps the top of the island as I try to hold back my laughter to no avail.
"Dude! Way to spill the beans!" I say as Scott places plates of food in front of us.
"I'm not engaging in this conversation," Kyrah says as she scratches the back of her neck.
"Don't mind these two Kyrah, just eat up," Scott says as Kyrah takes a bite. "And then maybe you can tell me what kind of wedding dress you'd like." He winks at her again and she chokes.
"Oh my God! Scott, stop that," she coughs and takes a sip of water then begins laughing. "You guys sure know how to keep me sane. You've been teasing me alot lately."
"But I still need to know how in the world you smashed that car like that. It's unbelievable. I'm starting to get scared of drunk Kyrah now," Scott jokes and we all laugh.
"I somehow managed to put it in your garage and I cleaned up the broken glasses," he says and Kyrah's hand which is holding a spoon stops mid air.
"You didn't have to," she says. "It was my mess. I was going to clean it up."
"Last time I checked, anyone's mess is everyone's mess amongst us. That's what true friendship is about, right?" Vic says, taking a bite of his food. Kyrah sighs and places her hand on top of the island.
"Friends forever," she says and the rest of us place our hands on top of hers and repeat her words.
"Friends forever."
