Chapter 130

"Oh. My. Goodness! Kyrah, you look amazing!" Roxy compliments me and I smile back at her. We're at my house and everyone else is here. Maeve and Wren are here while Vic and Johnny are at Scott's, getting ready. I can't believe today is the big day. The D-day! I've been getting goosebumps every time I think about it. We've been preparing ourselves for days and finally, the day that we've all been waiting for is finally here! We're going to a masquerade ball!
Roxy's dad paid for all our attires a few days ago and today, Roxy brought in some of the best hairdressers and makeup artists from around town, to help us look fabulous. Yesterday, we ladies, went to get our nails done and later relaxed at a sauna, courtesy of Roxy, my millionaire best friend.
As of now, everyone is all dressed up and ready to leave. We call the boys over as we wait for our ride to arrive. Mr. Trent promised he'd take care of our transportation, to and fro.
Tonight, I'm in a red, off shoulder, lace ball gown, which has an open back and from the way this dress makes my waist look tiny, I can tell men will be falling at my feet tonight. I also got myself a gold side butterfly Venetian mask that has red glitters and jewels. Roxy is in a black halter tulle ball gown, with an open back too, and her mask is a black Monsoon peacock Venetian Swarovski crystal one. Wren and Maeve both are in off shoulder ball gowns, with Wren's being as green as her beautiful eyes, and an emerald green and gold Venetian feather mask and Maeve's, a mixture of peach-gold and silver with a gold Venetian mask with fish scales texture. In short, our gowns match with the color of our masks.
When the boys finally walk in, I swear the entire house and everything else halts. Nobody moves. The boys are staring at us like they're seeing some angels, sent from heaven. Scott's eyes are on me and mine on his and we both take a few seconds to admire each other. Maeve lifts her long gown and runs to hug her boyfriend who is in a grey tuxedo and a white button down shirt, topped with a black bow tie and black shoes. Vic, on the other hand, eyes his girlfriend with so much emotion in his eyes, I doubt he'd want to stop. He decided to match his outfit with Wren's. So tonight, he's in a dark green, slim-fit tuxedo, white button down shirt and black shoes. His mask is a silver Phantom of the Opera one.
"Okay, enough with the staring game, clearly, no one is looking at me." Roxy breaks the silence. "I'm calling dad to know when the car will arrive." She presses her phone onto her left ear. Taking my attention away from her, I notice Scott has moved even closer to where I am now.
"You look stunning, I could stare at you all day," he coos and color spreads all over my face as I try to look anywhere else but at him.
"Thank you," I say and he smiles. "You're looking quite dapper tonight. I think you should wear red more often."
"Noted. And tonight, I look like a tycoon, all thanks to you." He grins while attempting a pose that makes my heart thump even faster than it normally does. I helped him look for an outfit that was unique, one that made him look even hotter. Scott is a fine gentleman with quite amazing features, especially his arms, so I chose a black Phantom of the Opera Venetian half mask which goes with black dress pants and, a black button down shirt and on top of it, a red and black aristocrat vest. Roxy is the odd one out, since the rest of us have outfits with matching colors. If only Kye was here.
"Guys, the car is waiting outside. We better get going, I'm sure nobody wants to be late for this. I want to witness everything right from the beginning till the end. Let's go." She begins walking.
"Wait!" Vic says, "Let's take a couple of photos before we leave."
"Great idea," Johnny says and in less than two minutes our mini photo session is done and we walk outside. I have to say though, these dresses are quite large from the waist down.
My thoughts of how we were all going to fit in the car with the dresses occupying most of the space, are drowned when I spot a long white limousine right outside my house.
"Wow!" Maeve exclaims. "A limo? I have never ridden in one in my entire life! This is a dream come true!"
I turn to face Roxy. "I didn't know your dad has a limo."
"Neither did we," Roxy and Vic respond in unison, their eyes as wide as everyone else's.
A chauffer walks out of the limo, he's in a white tuxedo and a white top hat and black shoes. The moment he lifts his head, Roxy, Vic and I are surprised.
"Bobby?" the three of us say in unison.
"Greetings to you all," he says and then turns to face me. "Lovely to see you again Miss Kyrah." He nods and I grin.
"Lovely to see you too, Bobby Chase," I say.
"Dad has been surprising us a lot lately, I won't even ask if this is ours," Roxy says and Bobby chuckles.
"It was supposed to be booked by a certain celebrity, but your father saved the best one for you all," he says, his eyes scanning everyone in front of him. "You all look amazing, now without further ado, I will be your driver for tonight and I'll be waiting around until the end of the event. Now, shall we?" he opens one of the doors and gestures for us to enter and we gladly oblige.
The interior of the limo makes me release a loud gasp. It's so large and the seats are all white! Champagne flutes have been carefully placed next to a champagne bottle, on a mini bar. The limo has a freaking mini bar! I can't believe my eyes. If this is how the night has begun, I can't wait to see the rest of it.
Wren squeals as the vehicle begins moving and Scott places his arms across my shoulders.
"It's happening!" I squeal and clap my hands together excitedly.
