Chapter 209
"That was kind of intense. I just didn't want to interfere much," Scott says.
"I know you too well. Once you give someone a warning and they don't listen to you, shit gets ugly in the end," I say as I recall the day Scott's fist rammed into Blake's face at the Masquerade ball. I even find myself chuckling.
"It really amazes me how much you love me. I see it in your eyes every day. Yet I can't do the same," he says and lowers his head.
"Hey, it's okay. Love can't be forced and I simply won't force you to feel the same way. Although it really pains me to know that you can't remember how you felt for me. But... we'll figure this out. I'm not letting go any time soon," I say and he squeezes my hand.
"After what you've said, I doubt that guy will be showing up at your doorstep ever again," Scott says.
"I may have broken his little heart, but, it's only for the best. Atleast he won't be stalking me anymore. Let's go. Lemme show you around before we go see Kye," I say and we both enter the car and leave.

I made sure to show him most of the places we've been to together apart from Blake's area. I don't want to go into my dark past. Yet. It's not the right time to tell him about Blake. But I will. Sooner or later.
After we've arrived at the army barracks, I'm surprised someone recognizes Scott as the General's son and we are welcomed warmly in an office to wait for Kye. He doesn't know we're here, but he's been told that he has visitors. The moment he appears from behind the closed doors of the office, all tall and in his camouflage outfit and black heavy boots, he sees me and looks a bit surprised. He pulls me into a hug and when his eyes move around the room and land on Scott, his feet fail him and he nearly falls but I offer him support.
His jaw drops and his hands begin trembling. He tries to utter some words but fails miserably. Scott stands up from his chair and smiles at Kye.
"Hey, bro," Scott says and Kye runs to him and pulls him into a tight manly hug and they pat each other's backs.
"How? When? What happened? This feels like a dream! Why didn't anyone tell me?" Kye asks multiple questions at a go.
"Kyrah and Roxy have been trying to reach you multiple times. Told them I'd surprise you in person. It's quite a long story Kye but... there's something you need to know before we go on," Scott says and eyes me. "I can't remember anything that happened during the accident or anything that happened since the day dad and I moved next to Kyrah's house. And I was paralyzed for a while, but I'm getting better everyday, thanks to Kyrah, Roxy, Vic, Wren... everybody's been helping me alot."
Kye takes two steps back and eyes Scott from head to toe.
"I thought I'd never see my best friend ever again," he says while pressing his fingers to his eyes, "I lost hope and I felt like dying at some point knowing that the only brother I've ever had was gone forever. When did you get here?" Kye asks, inhaling deeply.
"A week ago," Scott says and Kye sits down. Still in disbelief, he grabs Scott's arm just to confirm that it's truly him in the flesh.
"I can't believe this. Sorry I was unreachable. I'll get a new phone tomorrow and we'll be talking as often as possible. We need to catch up," Kye says.
"Yeah. I also need to hear some of the stuff we did that I can't recall. The rest have been telling me stories about our crazy moments and I believe I'll get to remember everything," Scott says confidently.
"I believe you will," Kye says.
We spend the rest of the day with Kye as Scott narrates his tragic story. I do more of listening than talking. Later on we head back home.

Two months and three weeks have passed since Scott came back. I have been working with him on the daily and he's progressing quite fast. He began remembering things two weeks ago and I felt like Heaven had just opened up that day. His feet got better and he no longer needs a crutch to walk.
He only remembers a few things but not a single thing from that cursed day when the devil himself decided to pay us a visit.
"I'm really happy that I can finally remember some stuff. It feels so amazing, you know. Thank you so much, Kyrah. You have no idea how happy and grateful I am to you and the rest. This morning I remembered the time we were together having blueberry ice-cream and some of it stuck on your nose," he says and I chuckle but deep down I am desperately praying that he remembers how he felt for me. I want him to love me.
"Yeah, I remember that beautiful sunny day," I say and he frowns while staring at me.
"I just want to remember about the accident. That's what I want most," he says and I understand him very well.
I stare back into his eyes as I ponder quietly. Flashing back on all the things we did for him to gain some of his memories back.
An idea pops up in my medulla and I gasp.
"That's it! We need to find a trigger. Something that'll trigger you so that you can remember. The way Sabrina's presence triggered you," I say and I take his hands into mine.
"What do you suggest?" he calmly asks.
I release a heavy sigh as I realize what I am about to do.
