Chapter 113

Kyrah's POV
Roxy always knows when something is wrong with me. Am I that transparent? I guess so.
"Blake has been calling and texting for hours, but I don't want to talk to him," I say.
"What does he want?" Roxy frowns.
I move to where my nightstand is and I take the newspaper that's been placed on top of it. The front page is all about the Dawson's. How Max Dawson fired almost a hundred employees at his hotel, again, and his wife is being charged for drug trafficking.
I hand it to Roxy and she takes time to go through the page.
"Rich people always have issues like these. I'm not surprised at all. But what does Blake want from you?" she asks.
I sigh heavily as I sit on the bed next to Roxy.
"I don't know. He keeps calling after every thirty minutes. What do I do?" I pinch the bridge of my nose. "I've been ignoring him all day."
"Maybe you should listen to what he has to say. You guys are still together and as far as I know, you're just keeping your distance," she states and I nod.
My phone rings and I take it from where it's been lying all day, on my bed.
"Is it him?" Roxy's curiosity is clear in her voice.
"No, it's Carla. I think I'll just talk to her, I have no other options."
"Alright then, well you better find out what's up. I'll be dowstairs, I think I'll check on dad and see how he's getting along with your parents and maybe get to introduce him to Kye in a better way," she says and leaves straight away.
I hesitate before answering. Then I hit the receive button.
"Hello?" I calmly say.
"Oh, thank God you've answered, Kyrah. Blake's been trying to reach you all day. Have you seen the–" I cut Carla off.
"Newspapers? Yeah... I have. What does he want?" I ask while staring outside my bedroom window.
"Listen, I know things aren't that good between both of you, but he needs you. He's been looking for alcohol around the house, but I hid it. He doesn't do very well when he's drunk," Carla points out and I blow air out of my mouth.
Well, clearly I know that and Carla is such and angel for always making sure Blake is okay. I mean, she's known his since he was a child.
"So what do you want me to do?" I ask and wait for her response.
"If you can, please just come over and talk to him. There's alot more that you don't know and I'd prefer not to be the one to tell you."
I wonder what might be the problem. Has something happened to him?
"How is he doing? Is he alright?" I question, biting my lower lip pretty hard.
"He hasn't done anything harmful to himself. He's just in deep thought. Paparazzi were here since morning but they left an hour ago after we refused to open the doors. You can come right now if you wish," she says.
I really can't just leave right now. I worked so hard on Roxy's party and she'd be broken to know I'm leaving when the party hasn't even started yet.
Think Kyrah, think!
"Uhm... Carla, my best friend is having a party tonight and I can't just leave. I had no plans of leaving, it would break her heart. Tell you what, I'll call Blake later and we'll talk, maybe convince him I'll come over tomorrow morning?" I hope she agrees.
"I understand. I'll just have to watch him and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. But... Kyrah, please, don't forget to call him, okay? He's in a very bad state mentally," she informs me.
"I sure will," I say and hang up.
It seems like things aren't that great at the Dawson house. I don't know what might be wrong but I'll know as soon as I call him.
"Kyrah! Hurry up, we've set up everything at Scott's, could you carry the cake?" Wren walks into my room just as I'm about to dial Blake's number.
"Oh, sure," I say and without even thinking and I leave the phone on my bed again.
"Let's party!!!" I yell.
This is actually the first party I'm hosting, my mom isn't a fan of alcohol but what she doesn't know won't kill her. Tyler brought in lots of alcohol and stationed it at Scott's house.
Tonight, it's going down for real. It's my best friend's birthday! I'm gonna drink, shout, dance... You name it!
