Chapter 230
Moments later, we are walking to the parking lot and we find everyone waiting for us.
Six different cars are parked and the big team is separated into pairs.
A convoy! This is going to be fun. I say to myself inwardly.
"Finally, you guys are here," Roxy says. "I was about to go back and eat thinking you guys weren't coming," she continues and we all laugh.
I follow Scott towards a sleek black convertible and when we're in, everyone waits to know the way forward. Scott and his dad have been to this place several times, so he knows where we're going. Kye has also been here twice.
"Alright guys, Kye will lead the way, everyone else will stay in the middle and I will be at the end. Okay? We're going to make a short stop over to buy some snacks and then continue with the journey. Let the convoy begin its journey," Scott announces and Kye starts his car.
"Let's get going guys," Roxy yells and the rest of the cars follow behind closely.
"I'm glad to be doing this with you, babe," I say and Scott smirks as he puts on his dark sunglasses and starts the engine and we leave.
A few minutes later we are pulling up at a gas station where there's a small supermarket and Scott, Vic and Johnny leave and go inside to get us stuff to eat while on our way.
"This place is incredible! We are definitely visiting the Copacabana tomorrow. I can't wait!" Barbara squeals from her car. She's been riding with Tim.
"I am definitely coming back here soon enough," Melissa says.
"Me too," Roxy, Maeve and I say in unison.
"You're already talking like we're leaving right now. Come on, change the topic. We're in Rio for crying out loud, enjoy the moment," Wren says and I chuckle.
"You're right," I say.
After a couple minutes, Scott walks out with Johnny and Vic. Naturally, I step out of the car and walk to help him carry the bags to Kye's car which is a grey jeep, as the others bring more bags. Kye pops the trunk up and I begin loading the bags inside one by one carefully. After the last one, I'm about to shut the trunk when Scott stops me.
"Make sure everything is upright, we don't want some stuff to spill on the way," he says and I check inside every bag to confirm that everything is placed well.
The moment when I turn around, Scott is gone, but my eyes drop and I find him kneeling down on one bended knee.
My hands fly to cover my mouth when I see what he's holding open. A tiny, red box with a very shiny ring in the middle of it. I gasp out loudly as tears begin to sting the back of my eyeballs.
"Oh my God!" I say as my heart begins beating faster and faster. My chest is rising and falling rapidly. Am I dreaming?
I turn my head to look around only to find everyone filming while out of their cars.
Of course they knew about it! I turn my eyes back to Scott and my heart aches for him. He licks his lips before speaking.
"Kyrah... Ever since the day that I saw you, I always knew that you were the one. Something always told me that there would be so much more between us and I really wanted to know how life would be with you by my side and so far, I don't regret a single thing. You have been my rock, even at my weakest point in life, you still believed in me and helped me get back up. Kyrah, with this ring before you, I have only one question to ask you..."
OHH! MYYY–
"Will you marry me?" he drops the big question and my knees go weak. My entire body is trembling and my heart is bursting with joy as I stare into the eyes of the man that I love. He's really proposing to me.
Without any hesitation, I nod my head quickly. As tears begin flowing down my rose cheeks.
"Yes! Yes! I'll marry you, Scott," I say and he takes my hand and slides the very lovely ring into my finger and he ascends.
I pull him into a hug and kiss him with all that I've got as the rest begin clapping hands and cheering. This is a dream come true. I love this man, more than anything on this planet. He is mine, all mine!
"Go... Skyrah! I once said that you two were endgame. Look at you right now, so adorable," Roxy says and I smile against Scott's lips. I don't even know when she got out of the car. The others are also surrounding us.
"Congratulations guys," Kye says.
"You guys are meant for each other," Maeve says.
"Let's hear it again for Scott and Kyrah! Woo-hoo!!" Vic yells and everyone joins in, even passersby are clapping their hands as they watch us.
Scott's forehead is now touching mine as we hold hands.
"I am more than happy that you chose to do life with me. I promise you that the ride will be worth it and that I will always take care of you and make sure that you are safe and hapoy," he coos and a stampede storms into my stomach the moment he says those words.
"You are mine. All mine now," he adds.
"I love you, Kyrah," he says and kisses me on the lips softly.
"I love you, Scott," I say and we finally let go of each other as everyone else cheers on as they go back to their cars.
Once everyone is in, Kye takes off first and then we all follow into the high way. I can't stop staring at the lovely ring shining on my finger.
The calming breeze that's blowing my ponytail up and down, through the open sunroof of the car, keeps me at ease as I look at Scott driving. He then holds the steering wheel with one hand and lifts my hand with the other and kisses it.
As I look at the ring on my finger, I am thinking to myself, how beautiful it is to be in love with the right person.
I lift my hands up in the air as we drive faster and I scream out loud.
"Woo-hoo! Yeah!"
Scott chuckles and grins at me.
This is the moment I have been waiting my whole life for. To spend the rest of my life with a man that I truly love.
Even when there were ups and downs in life, we still made it through. I promised to make him happy and so did he and I am never going to break my promise. As Roxy just said, and I truly know it, Scott and I, are endgame.
Looking at the blue sky, I am reminded that no matter how hard life gets, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel and that the sun will always rise up again, no matter what.
One day, when I have my own kids, I will narrate everything that happened to me when I met their father, Scott. I will tell them that I once had a boy that pulled me through hell and tore me apart, and that also, I had me a boy that took my broken pieces and mended my broken heart. I had me a boy who taught me to appreciate all the simple things in life and taught me how to love.
I Had Me A Boy.
THE END.
