Chapter 179

"Are you sure no one else was brought in with Kyrah? Maybe check out the names or something? We need to know where Scott is," Vic says, roughly raking his fingers through his hair, taking deep breaths.
"I'm sure, but I'll cross check the list of inpatients," Lilly says and walks away.
I bite my lower lip so hard and curse out loud again.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! Tell me this isn't happening. It's all too unbelievable. Kyrah is fighting for her life and we don't know where Scott is. What the fuck is happening? Everything was going so well, and then this! This happened and I really feel torn apart, I can't take it anymore, Vic. I just can't..." my words trail off as I fall on my knees and begin crying again. Vic kneels next to me and hugs me as I cry.
Please, God. Don't let anything happen to my friends. I love them too much.
After a few very frustrating minutes, dad walks into the reception and immediately, Lilly takes him to a room where he'll donate blood. We don't have time to waste, so he just nods at us as he follows Lilly. Unfortunately, Lilly comes back after the procedure with dad and says, "Your dad's blood won't be enough. Sadly Kyrah really lost alot of blood by the time an ambulance got to her. And in the list of today's inpatients, Scott's name isn't there."
I let out a hopeless sob and dad pulls me into his arms. I want the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
"Hush, now. Please, try and be strong for Kyrah. Let's call everyone we know... Where are her parents?" dad asks. He seems worried too. I lift my head from his chest, where my tears have stained his white button down shirt.
"They're supposed to be arriving at the airport today, at around midday," I say after clearing my throat. My entire body feels empty.
"Okay, I'll stick around for a few hours and go and pick them myself. Meanwhile, make all the phone calls you can," dad suggests while Vic is busy on the phone with Wren.
I try calling Kye, but he doesn't pick up.
"Damn it!" I exclaim. He's probably busy with work or training.
I inform Maeve and Johnny about it and they both tell me they're on their way, even though they said they don't have the blood type that Kyrah needs. I'm trying so hard right now not to start crying again. I hate crying. Crying only makes me feel like bad situations are worsening.
"I'll call the twins," Vic says as he places his phone on to his ear.

Jim's POV
My brother and I just met up with Bobby, Roxy's friend and honestly he gave the car a massive makeover. It looks amazing! The black color makes it look entirely new. After he hands me the keys, and we thank him, we decide to drive around town.
"This is really cool, bro. The car of our dreams. I'm extremely happy that Kyrah gave it to us. It'll really help us out in so many ways," Tim says as he rolls up the window and he chuckles.
"What's funny?" I ask, as I take a corner towards Pizza Hut.
"It's nothing. I'm just happy, that's all. I'm happy that finally we aren't in bad terms and lately, everything has been going so smoothly," he says and I frown.
"Not for me though. I still haven't gotten a job, and classes begin in a few weeks time–"
"Hey, don't worry. I've been making alot of money and saving up. Now that I'm not paying back for some shitty antique vase or whatever, we have enough for the next semester. For both of us. I've always got your back. Don't worry about money," Tim says and I can't help but feel grateful. He's been working his ass off every day and night. Deejaying here and there, even right now, his eyes are beetroot red, since he was up all night. I've been going with him to most of the events but sometimes he allows me to get some sleep after endless sleepless nights. So today we planned to go get our ride and celebrate with pizza and sleep for the rest of the day.
"Thank you, Tim. For everything. I'll make sure to find a job so that I can be working after my classes," I say, "I promise you. I'll get one."
"I also sent grandma and grandpa money for their upkeep and also medicine. Aunt Sandra says they're doing better now," Tim says and I smile at him widely.
"That was thoughtful of you."
"You see, our hard work finally paid off," he says and turns up the volume of the song playing on the stereo and he nods his head as I park a few meters away from Pizza Hut.
"Alright, I'm paying for the pizza and drinks, stay right here," I say and I walk out of the car.
When I come back, I find Tim on the phone. He's actually using my phone and the look on his face nearly makes me drop the two boxes of large pizza.
"Yeah, yeah... right away. We can help her... Mine is the same as hers. Alright, alright. We're on our way there," he says and turns to look at me as I slip into the driver's seat.
"Kyrah got into an accident, she lost a lot of blood. They're at the hospital right now... I'll donate my blood, now step of the gas!" Tim's words come out faster than I expected. My heart is racing as I speed off the parking lot when a car stops right in front of ours, and we nearly collide but I step on the breaks.
"Get out of the way, you moron!" I yell out of the window. Then I face palm myself when Blake Dawson walks out of the vehicle.
"Fuck! Get your bloody car out of the way dipshit, we've got somewhere to be," Tim yells as he walks out of the vehicle and walks towards Blake angrily.
