Chapter 129

Moments later, Scott walks back with two large cups of ice-cream and when he places them on the table, jealousy makes my throat feel drier than the desert. My jaw drops.
"Why didn't you tell me you were getting blueberry ice-cream?" I pout out of disappointment and cross my arms in front of me.
"Look at you, pouting like that," he chuckles and seats down. "Vanilla is your favorite, blueberry is my favorite."
I love vanilla ice-cream but blueberry is sweet too and my desire for his blueberry ice-cream grows when he scoops a spoonful into his mouth as he closes his eyes, enjoying every bit of it. He takes another scoop and directs it into his mouth and for some reason I wonder what that mouth could do to someone's daughter.
Focus!
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asks.
"I want some of your ice-cream," I say calmly.
"Alright, open your mouth," he says and scoops a spoonful but instead of directing it into my mouth, he makes me follow the spoon around as I try to lick a little off the spoon. I pout and frown and he laughs at me. Then he brings the spoon closer to my mouth and I look at him for a moment.
"Come on, have some or else I'll finish it in less than a minute," he says and I open my mouth quickly and into my mouth the spoon of ice-cream goes. The sweet flavor caresses my tongue and my throat.
"Mmmh!" I moan. "Another one, please," I say, ignoring my vanilla ice-cream. He repeats the same process, teasing me by positioning the spoon from side to side and in the end, my nose bumbs onto the spoon and some ice-cream is left at the tip of it.
"Hold on." Scott takes out his phone and says, "smile for the camera!" with a huge grin.
"No, don't take a picture!" I protest, but he doesn't stop.
"Just smile. It's a good day. You look cute," he coos.
Color floods my cheeks and I look away for a moment and then I pose. Smiling. With ice-cream on my nose.
"You're beautiful," he coos and I blush. He takes a while and I wonder if he's really taking a picture of me.
"Scott? Is that a video?" I ask and his grin grows wider and I grab the phone away from him, taking a video of him instead. As he stares back at me, I push my vanilla ice-cream across the table to his side.
"Please, can you have mine? I like yours so much," I say, still holding his phone and he smiles. A very warm and lovely smile. He takes the ice-cream and begins consuming it.
"Okay, that's enough filming for the day. I'm camera shy," he says and I chuckle.
"Fine. Just one selfie and I'll wipe my nose, it's already starting to trickle down," I say and lift his phone and we stare at the screen, he smiles and I smile. For more than a second we stare at the camera and he realizes what I'm doing.
"Oh, Kyrah. You're taking a video?" he whines.
"You took a video of me too. Okay, let me take a selfie this time, for real," I say, honestly. He moves from his seat and drops himself into the empty one next to me and I take a photo of us together.
"Send them to me," I say, returning his phone and then I wipe my nose with a tissue from my purse.
"Aw! You two... I've been watching you for more than five minutes and I wonder how in the world both of you are even friends," Maeve speaks from my left and Scott clears his throat and I blush. I know exactly what Maeve is talking about but I ignore her.
"Hey, finally you're here. Where's Johnny?" I ask and he appears seconds later behind Maeve. His hair curly and shoulder length long is neat and he's in khaki shorts and a white shirt. Maeve is in navy skinny jeans and a black tank top. "Great to see you again, Johnny." I stand up and hug them both, Scott hugs Maeve and fist bumbs Johnny.
"We're waiting for Wren, Roxy and Vic," Scott says and from afar I spot a cute little red headed girl headed our way.
"Wren's here. I hope Roxy and Vic won't take too long," I say just as Wren joins us and hugs us all.
"Roxy just sent me a text. They're on their way. They didn't spend much time checking the houses. Anyway... I'm excited! Major!" she squeaks and so does Maeve. Scott and Johnny are having a conversation I can't hear and a few minutes later, Roxy calls me and gives me directions to the place we're supposed to get our outfits.
"It's just behind the mall. Take two left turns and you'll see my car," Roxy instructs.
We follow her instructions and five minutes later, we are walking into the most beautiful and hugest boutique on earth. I don't even know if I should call it a boutique, this is a fashion house! All I can see are beautiful clothes. Ladies gowns and men's tuxedo's of all designs and colors.
"I think I'm having a clothes-gasm," Maeve says, touching a silky, long, yellow dinner dress.
"Come this way," Mr. Trent or Scar, calls us and we follow him into a room where we find Roxy and Vic and a lady who introduces herself as Diana and mentions that she owns the place. She asks her employees to help us find outfits we like and my grin grows so wide that my face hurts.
"I'm super excited! I can't wait to attend my very first masquerade ball!" Roxy says.
"Me too," I say, looking at all the mannequins dressed up in beautiful clothes.
