Chapter 148
Scott"s POV
I look deep into her eyes and all I see is loneliness and vulnerability.
"Kyrah, all I can say is, no matter what, I"ll do my best to make you feel better," I promise and she sniffles and looks at our hands, I choose this moment to intertwine them. "I will make you better. Happy." Our eyes lock again.
"You always do. Even when I feel like there"s no light at the end of the tunnel, you come to my rescue..." she bites her lower lip and I can tell that she is fighting back tears. "Take this pain away... please?" A tear leaves her right eye and I catch it before it falls and my palm lingers there.
"I will, you have my word," I assure her and she pouts and without any hesitation I move to kiss her forehead. My lips linger on her warm skin for a few seconds as her arms fly around me into a hug. When she lets go of me, a small smile has now formed on her face and it warms my heart. She just doesn"t know a simple gesture like that makes the insides of my body run wild.
I lower my face and I kiss her forehead again and she places her hand on my chest, right next to my heart and what I didn"t expect happens. She kisses me on the cheek. This is the second time she"s done it, ever since we knew each other. This is how she's been thanking lately. The simple peck makes me want to kiss her lips, kiss all the pain away, but I know this is not the right time. She might think I am taking advantage of her vulnerability.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" I ask and she nods. "How about some comedy?"
"Sure," she says and when I stand up, she holds my hand and I stop, then she stands up. I don"t know whether she"s doing it knowingly or unknowingly, but she"s squeezing my palm lightly.
"I"m scared." She licks her lips and I search for any sign of fear in her eyes and in seconds I detect it.
"Of what? I"m right here," I say and she lowers her eyes to her feet, her hand still squeezing mine.
"Blake. I'm scared of him."
"You know he"s no match for me," I say. She sighs and ponders for a moment.
"Could you... spend the night here? He once came into my room through my window and there's another time he saw you in my room, remember the flowers we found on the lawn? He threw them there."
Her words make my eyes go wide like saucers.
"Then, we"ll lock every door and window in this house," I say.
"Uhm..." she starts.
"What is it?" I ask, cupping her face with both of my hands and she bites her lower lip again and I swear it turns me on.
"Sleep in my room... with me?" she purses her lips and I chuckle lightly and gently place my forehead on hers. We"ve spent so many nights on the same bed together yet she still dares to ask if I can share a bed with her tonight.
I"d love to, even though it"s always hard for me to sleep with such a goddess in one bed, but for her sake, I can always wait. I know how to control myself, the furthest I"ve ever gone, was kissing her lips lightly when she fell asleep, but she doesn"t know that.
"You know you don"t have to ask. I"ll do anything for you," I coo and she smiles. A smile that sends sparks all over my body.

We"ve now watched two comedy movies and I am super glad she enjoyed and laughed a little. I spent most of the time staring at her as she lay on my chest. She looks so comfortable, as if she was meant to lay on my chest forever. She begins yawning and her eyes already look droopy. I check the time on my phone and it"s already 11pm.
"Sleepy?" I ask and she nods. I switch off the television. When she stands up, I lift her into my arms and carry her and she squeaks.
"What are you doing?" she sounds curious.
"Carrying you to your room." I smile at her and I see color rising up to her cheeks. She"s blushing and I like that. No, I love that!
"Put me down, I can walk on my own," she whines but I refuse to and walk very fast up the stairs with her in my arms, as she clings on to me like I"m her only hope in life. Her eyes are shut tightly. When we"re finally upstairs, the door to her room is wide open and I walk in with ease and gently lay her on the bed and she pulls me on top of her as she laughs and I chuckle.
She grabs one of her pillows and smacks my head.
"Ow! What was that for?" I ask.
"You didn"t listen to me, Stone!" She smiles like she wasn"t even crying a few hours ago.
As I rub my head, I frown at her and she sticks her tongue out at me.
"You will pay for that, Bailey," I warn jokingly.
She snorts and pushes me off her.
"And what will you do to me?" she asks, sitting on the bed.
That question... She doesn"t even know what she just asked. There are so many things I want to do to her, if only she knew.
I want to kiss you, caress every inch of your body, make love to you... I want to love you for as long as I live.
Slowly, I leave the bed and stand beside it and I snort.
"Well, I have my own bed at my house, you know." I turn as if walking away and her eyes widen like saucers and she jumps from the bed and runs and stands in front of me and holds my hands.
"Where are you going?" she asks, voice full of panic and I chuckle.
"To my house," I say.
"Don"t leave me," she begs. "Sorry I hit your head. Stay, please," she says and hugs me.
I let out a small laugh as I look down at how she"s holding on to me.
"Relax, I was only joking, but you know the doors and windows won"t close themselves, right?" I tell her and she nods. I continue walking and from behind me, I hear her following me and I stop unexpectedly and she slams her face on to my back.
"Ouch! Why did you stop?" she asks rubbing her face. "Jesus! You"re like a human rock. My face hurts!" She pouts and I chuckle as I turn around. Atleast right now she's so distracted and I haven't given her a chance to think about that dickhead, Blake.
"Sorry about that," I say. "Let me go downstairs and lock up," I say.
"I"m coming with you," she says and I nod. At this moment I feel like her protector, her Superman and she"s my Lois Lane. She makes me want to stand by her side forever. She"s the only rose in a garden full of lilies. What she does to me is unexplainable and I want this feeling to never end.
"Look out! There"s a mouse!" I lie and she jumps and grabs my forearm so tight as she closes her eyes shut while screaming.
"Is it gone?" she asks and I smile as I look down at her.
"Just kidding." I laugh and she swats my arm, but doesn"t let go. Seconds later she starts laughing.
"You scared the crap out of me. Can we just go lock up already?" she asks.
"Sure," I say as we walk down the stairs, with her arms around mine.
