Chapter 103
Ryan
We aren’t in my mom’s apartment for five minutes and she looks like she wants to start shit just because we brought Luther along. I wasn’t joking when I said we would leave. She is the one who wanted to talk. We don’t have time for her bullshit. I know Lexi and Luther think I should at least hear my mom out since she is my mom. I want to but I won’t have her spouting garbage about the way our relationship works. Like I said, we are a team. All three of us. My mom needs to accept it.
I sit on the couch with Lexi and Luther. Mom said she wanted to start over from when we walked in. So I’m not going to say a word until she does. When mom sits and sees I’m opening my mouth she does. “ Ryan, thank you for seeing me. You too Lexi.” she said. “ Don’t thank me. Thank Lexi. She was the one who convinced me to see you. I’m still pissed at you.” I said. “ I know, son. I wanted to say that I’m sorry. In my heart I thought I was doing the right thing for you and our pack.” mom said. I want to believe her, I do. She's my mom. I see Lexi watching her. Lexi will know if she was being honest. I don’t know if I trust my instinct when it comes to my mom.
“ You thought making a deal you had no business making was for the good of me and the pack?” I asked. “ What were you thinking?” I asked. I was getting pissed. What gave my mom the right to try to marry me off to a beta’s daughter? She knew I was waiting for my mate. “ I was thinking I wanted to see my son happy. And if we were able to merge the packs the better.” mom said. “ I get wanting me to be happy. But you knew I wasn’t going to settle for anyone but my mate.” I said. “ I know but it was taking so long. And the pack needed a Luna. And they are a good pack. We would have been stronger by joining with them.” Mom said.
I look over at Lexi and Luther. Luther is shaking his head. Lexi though hasn’t moved her eyes off my mom. Mom looks at Lexi and squirms in her seat. Mom knows what Lexi can do so the last person mom needs to piss off is Lexi. Why does mom look nervous? “ And what about that shit you pulled when I introduced Lexi to you?” I asked. Mom turns her eyes for a second before answering. “ I do regret the way I acted. I should have listened to you. I acted rashly. I have just never heard of anyone with two mates.” mom said. I get the two mate thing is different but she wanted to throw my mate in the dungeon without hearing us out.
I see Lexi’s eyes begin to glow red. Mom looks at me then around the room like she is looking for a way to make a quick exit. The voice that comes out of Lexi is a combination of her and Arya. “ She is lying. Again.” Lexi growls. “ I’m done with this shit.” I growled. I stand and hold my hand out to Lexi. “ Love, I’m going to make her tell the truth. You need to hear this.” Lexi linked me. “ And have some warriors up here.” she said. I slumped back on the couch. “ It is going to be bad isn't it?” I asked her. “ I’m sorry,love. Yes it is.” Lexi said.
I link my dad to come up. Then a few warriors like Lexi had asked.“ Mom, I asked dad to come up. Let’s wait until he gets here.” I said. Luther links me, “ I got your back,man.” “ Thanks man.” I linked. Dad came in and took one look at Lexi and knew something was wrong. Dad sat beside mom and asked “ What’s going on?” It may have looked like he was talking to me and mom but he wasn’t. He was talking to Lexi. Lexi turned to my dad and I could see the look of remorse “ Kent, I’m so sorry.” Dad gave her a weak smile “ Do what you need to do, my daughter.” Dad was telling Lexi he trusted her and no matter what was about to happen he supported Lexi. “ My love?” Lexi linked. “ Do it.” I linked.
Mom shifted in her seat “ What is going on?” “ What’s going on Skyline is you are lying out your ass.” Lexi growled. Mom’s eyes got big when she noticed the change in Lexi. The color of her eyes and the growl. “ You have your wolf.” mom gasps. Lexi smirks “ Yes. And If you thought I was powerful before, you haven't seen anything yet.” Lexi leaned forward “ You see the weekend of my birthday many wonderful things happened. I mated and marked your wonderful son. And my sweet Luther.” Lexi said, moving her hair to show off her mark.
I love looking at her mark. Luther and I pulled our shirts aside to show off our marks. “ I saw my birth parents and my mother. You call her Goddess. Then I got my incredible wolf. I’m told she is a sight to see. And when I got my wolf all my powers got stronger and I got a few new ones. Like knowing when people are lying. And so much more. So I’m going to give you a chance to tell the truth before I make you. What’s it going to be?” Lexi asked.
By the time Lexi is done talking my mom is squirming so much I’m worried she will fall off the couch. “ Well,mom? Are you going to talk?” I asked. “ Son, Kent. Are you seriously going to believe this crazy woman? I mean she is talking about talking to the Goddess. Seeing her. And her powers. Noone has the kind of powers like that.” mom said. She was sweating at this point. “ Sky, she isn’t lying. I was there in the room when the Goddess made her appearance. I saw it all.” dad said.
“ No. No. She is lying.” mom said. Then she whispered “ She has to be.” Dad shakes his head then looks at Lexi. “ Do it.” he said. Lexi stands up, goes to my mom and gets on her knees. Lexi places her hands on the sides of my mom’s face. Lexi's eyes glow bright white and she growled “ Speak the truth. What are you trying to hide?” When Lexi was done she let go of mom's head, got up and came back to Luther and me. “ Now we wait.” Lexi links us. Unlike last time my mom tries to fight the command.
Mom presses her lips tightly together and grunts. She is sweating. She opens and closes her firsts before she doubles over. “ Fine, I will tell you. Just make it stop.” she screams. My poor dad looks miserable. He is a loving mate that wants to take my mom’s pain away. But he can’t. Only Lexi can take the pain away and she won’t until mom talks. And dad won’t interfere with what Lexi is doing. Dad knows Lexi would use her power unless she had a good reason.
