Chapter 51

Lexi

Leaving Luther was hard but I know I needed time to think. I needed to think about what I did to that girl. And why I reacted the way I did. That is the second time my wolf has come out because of some girl flirting with my mate. And this time I felt her come forward. It wasn’t painful or anything like that. I just felt like I was being gently pushed to the back of my mind. I could see and hear everything she was doing but couldn’t react. And the way she behaved was not like me at all. I didn’t know what to think.

We pulled up at Aiden’s packhouse and he helped me out. As we were walking up the steps I asked “ Aiden are you sure it is okay for me to stay here tonight? I don’t want to put anyone out.” I haven’t been back here since the day after I was attacked by those weird wolves.Aiden doesn’t get a chance to respond because the front door opens revealing the Alpha and Luna. “ Of course you are welcomed here.” Calissa said, enveloping me in a hug. I didn’t know how much I needed it until Calissa did it. And it gave me an idea. When Calissa pulled back I asked “ Is the offer to talk still open?”

The last time I was here Calissa said if I ever needed anything she was here for me. I’m hoping I still can. As a woman and a wolf she might be able to give me some ideas as to what is happening to me. “ Anytime you need it.” she said. I look over at Aiden. I don’t want to be rude and just leave but I have an urgent need to talk to Calissa. “ Do you want me to go with you?” Aiden answered my unspoken question. “ I need to do this alone.” I told him hoping he would get the hint and not be upset. Aiden smiles “ Go have your girl talk. I’ll get you a snack.” I hug him tight and thank him for understanding.

Calissa grabs my hand and leads me to her office. After giving me a glass of water she sits beside me on the couch. I explain everything that happened at Luther’s and she listens until I’m done. “ I don’t understand. I never considered myself a jealous person.” I told her. “ The way you reacted was normal for a wolf. If someone had done that to you Aiden and Luther would have lost their shit since none of you are marked. It just seems odd to you since you are still getting used to our ways.” Calissa said. “ And the throwing her across the room?” I asked. Calissa bursts out laughing. “ I would have loved to see that. But that is something I don’t have an answer for. You will need to talk to the Riverclaw Elders. And it is possible they may not know the answers. My advice to you on that is, expect the unexpected when it comes to your powers. When you get one train to know how to use it.” she said.

Well that put a few things in my mind at ease. Now for the tougher questions if Calissa is willing to answer. “ I have a few personal questions. You can say no if you don’t want to answer.” I said. Calissa motioned with her hand for me to continue. “ It is about the mating. I have read the basics but. You see I have never done.” Calissa holds her hand up. “ I get what you're saying. I was in your shoes before. Henry was my first and only. Your situation is a little different but trust in your mates. They will make it a memorable experience. Yes, there will be a little pain. It is unavoidable. But it will be gone quickly. That goes for the bite too.”

“ Thank you for answering my questions.” I told her. I was grateful she took the time for me. Calissa grabs my hands “ Oh sweet girl. Anytime you need me, I’ll be here. Even if the rejection happens. You have a space in my heart and nothing is going to remove you. Although I see my crazy son is trying. It does my heart to see you making him earn it.” We both crack up laughing. We were about to get up when there was a knock on the door. It opened and Aiden poked his head in. “ Sorry to interrupt but Lexi needs to have a snack. Mates and doctors orders.” he said. I held back a chuckle. “ Taking care of your mate is never something to be sorry for.” Calissa said. I stand up with Calissa beside me. “ Lexi knows where to find me if she needs me. You two enjoy the rest of your night.” she said. She stopped at Aiden and said “ Make sure you take good care of her.” “ I will mom,” he said.

Aiden took me to his room to rest and eat. We laid back in his bed and watched movies the rest of the night. I had most of the answers I needed and it was a weight lifted off my shoulders allowing me to relax. I curled up on my side facing Aiden. Aiden was on his back and I laid my head on his shoulder with his arm around me. I noticed Aiden kept leaning in and sniffing me. I know this is a wolf thing but I don’t understand why he kept doing it. After the fifth time I had to ask.

“ Aiden are you alright?” I asked. “ I’m fine, babe. Why do you ask?” he inquired. “ You keep sniffing me. So either I stink and you can’t find it in yourself to tell me I need a shower. Or you are troubled and are using my scent to calm down.” I said. Aiden laughed. “ No, babe you don’t stink. Just the opposite. You smell incredible and I can't get enough. But that isn’t why I keep sniffing you. Razor and I didn’t think we would get to hold you like this for sometime down the road if ever. So we are taking advantage of you being here.” Aiden said.

I curled closer to Aiden. It felt different cuddled up with Aiden than it did Luther but not in a bad way. Just the way they felt. Their height difference not that there was much. An inch or two. And Aiden had a little hair on his chest where Luther had none. I liked running my fingers through it. And the sparks that weren’t as strong before are back in full force.I was thinking I could get used to this but it felt like something was missing. Luther. I wasn’t going to be complete unless I had both of them. Once I accepted that I was content.

The next morning Aiden woke me with breakfast in bed. We had just finished eating and I was stuffed. Aiden made sure to follow all of my new diet and made sure I ate twice as much as I normally would. I didn’t think I would be able to move for hours but Aiden assured me my wolf metabolism would kick in and fix the problem. He raided some clothes from Melissa so I could shower and change. Most of my clothes were either at my house or Luther’s. Aiden made sure I had a towel and left me to get ready. But he did tell me to hurry. I took a quick shower like he said. But the time I was dressed I didn’t feel so full anymore.

When I looked in the mirror, what I saw scared the shit out of me causing me to scream. The door to the room slams open. Aiden, Melissa and Jackson come running in ready to fight growling looking for danger. Behind them is Jesse, Calissa and Henry. After looking around and seeing nothing Aiden looks at me. “ Babe, is everything okay? The entire house heard you scream.” “ I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to alarm everyone. I just got spooked.” I said. “ Lexi, you don’t need to be sorry. What happened?” Henry asked.

I turned around so they could see my hair. Normally my hair is a deep fiery red. But now I have yellowish and orange streaks through it making it look like it is on fire. “ Oh Goddess.” Calissa gasped. “ I can see why you screamed.” Melissa said. “ Right. But how did this happen? It wasn’t like this when I went to sleep.” I asked. “ We have no idea.” Calissa said. “ Aiden, you need to get Lexi to Riverclaw. You need to talk to their elders. We will be right behind you.” Henry said. The next thing I know my hair is covered up with a scarf borrowed from Calissa and we are all running out the door.
