Chapter 125

Luther


Ryan and I waited in the living room of our suite while we waited for Lexi to talk to the Goddess. Ryan was sitting beside me on the couch with the remote in his hand. He is flipping channels but not landing on anything. I doubt he is looking for something. Just passing the time like me. Ryan tosses the remote on the coffee. I can see he frustrated. Hell so am I. I’m embarrassed that I didn’t notice how stressed Lexi has been. “ Don’t be. She hid it well.” said Deisel. I shake my head “ I know she did. But I am one of her mates. I should have seen it. Or felt it.” I sigh as I lay my head on the back of the couch. I turn to look at the bedroom door and see the white glow coming from under it telling me Lexi is still talking with the Goddess.

She has already been there an hour. I’m getting anxious. I see Ryan doing the same thing. “ She has been in there a while.” He said. I nod not that he is paying attention to me. “Remember Lexi said time works differantly there.” I told him. When this first happened Lexi explained that what is an hour for us here is like ten minutes in the Goddess realm for her. “ I know. I know. I just don’t like it. We don’t know what happens in that realm.” he said. I doubt the Goddess would let anything to happen to Lexi while they are together. Ryan knows it too. Some of what bothers us is that we can’t feel her when she is over there. We can see her here but we have no idea what Lexi may be going through until she gets back to tell us.

“ That’s not what is bothering you, is it?” I asked knowing it wasn’t. Ryan shake his head and runs his hands through his hair. I notice he is keeping it a little longer since Lexi likes to run her fingers through it when she is relaxing or cuddling. For me she likes to rub her fingers over mine. She has things she does with each of us that is just for us. For example Lexi likes to bite my ear lobe but not Ryan’s. Ryan, Lexi will wrap her arms around his neck when she cuddles but she does it to my waist. Or how she said the right side of her when we cuddle is for Ryan and mine is the left. I asked her about it and she said it was because that was how we always walked. I never noticed it until she said something.

“ No, it isn’t. I feel like we let Lexi down. I mean how busy were we that we didn’t notice our mate was overloaded. Or were just too blind to see it.” Ryan asked. “ I don’t know man. I know we all have been busy. You running your pack. Me learning to take over and getting my mom to work on Lexi’s Luna ceremony. We both train with our warriors. But we devote ourselves to Lexi when we are together. So I don’t understand why we missed it.” I said. “ Stop making this situation all about you.” My mom said. When did she get back here? I look over and see not only my mom but Isabelle, Melissa,Raylynn, and Freya,too.

“ What are you guys doing here? And what do you mean we are making this all about us?” Ryan asked. “ Let’s start with making it about you. You are sitting here worried about yourselves. Yes, you both are busy with pack duties so I’m sure you are tired. But Lexi is trying to do Luna duties in two packs, train to use her powers safely, going to school, deal with Valerose, and keep up with you two. I’m surprised she is awake, can make full sentences and walking.” my mom said. Well, when she put it that way Ryan and hardley do shit.

“ And to answer your other question Luna Christina called and told us what happened. We came over to help.” Melissa said. That is when I noticed they each had a bag with them. “ How are you going to help?” Ryan asked. Isabelle smirks “ By helping Lexi get dressed.” “ Get dressed for what?” I asked. “ All of us are taking Lexi for a night out.” Freya said. Raylynn waves a finger between Ryan and me “ You two included.” “ Going out where?” I asked. “ We are going to take Lexi out dancing.” Melissa said. They explained to us they found a shifter club not far from Marguette. “ You two are going to let Lexi dance all her worries away. Even if it is just for one night.”

Melissa said she even went by Lexi’s house to bring her a few outfits. Damn I can’t remeber the last time Lexi has been there to get any of her belongings. I like the idea of other shifter looking at what is mine but I have to agree that she is in dire need of a break. I link Ryan “ What do you think?” “ I don’t like the idea of going to a club but for Lexi I will run to the moon. I say we do it.” he said. “ So do we.” Stone and Deisel said. I turn my attention back to my mom and the girls and ask “ What do we do?” My mom laid out the plan for us. We had to wait until Lexi to get done and come out. When Lexi is done telling us anything she needs then we are all going to eat. After we eat the girls are going steal Lexi and help her get ready. While they do that Ryan and I are supposed to get dressed as well. Isabelle said we needed to be sexy causal. Whatever the hell that means. But I will figure it out. Nice shirt and jeans maybe. Lexi does love of in jeans. She has told us many times. And I have seen her check us out when we wear them. She slowly rakes her eyes over us. I love it when she does it.

" Yes, wear jeans. I like when Lexi and Arya look at us with lusty eyes." Diesel said. I had to hold back a laugh at him but I did agree. While we waited for Lexi to get done mom called down to have extra food brought up. Melissa linked a Jackson and Jesse to have them meet us because Lexi hadn't seen them in a little while. Freya invited a few of Lexi's friends from our pack and Isabelle did the same for Ryan's pack. While they did that I realized that I didn't know all of Lexi's friends. I need to fix that. For some reason I didn't think she had any outside her guardians. At least not close ones. Listening to Freya I am wrong. Mom pulls me out of my thoughts " Boys, tomorrow I want you to take Lexi to lunch at the diner. It has to be lunch because that is Patsy's shift. It will do Lexi good to see her again." I bet it would. I open my mouth to tell mom that we will when I hear " I would like that. I miss Patsy." I whip my head around to the door and see her leaning against the door jam.

" Baby?" I ask. I need to know she is alright. At least for now. Her eyes look like she has been crying. Lexi gives me a relaxed smile " Yes, I cried. Turns out I needed it." Lexi turns to my mom " And some attention only a mother could give. I just figured out I don't always need to go to the Goddess realm to get it." Mom smiles and her eyes glisten " No, sweetheart you don't." Lexi looks around the room. " I don't know why you ladies are here. And this very second I don't care. You can explain later. I glad to see you. I know you are all wondering what happened and why I needed to talk to mother. Have a seat and I will get you up to date. I'm going to get some water any one want anything before we start?" she said still putting others before herself. " Lexi, sit beside Luther. I will grab you the water." Ryan said as he stood up. Lexi smiled at him and nodded. She pushed herself off the door jam and comes over to me. Once she is on the couch I lift my arm and through it over her shoulder as she pressed her face into my neck over my mating mark inhaling my scent.

Ryan brought Lexi a bottle of water and us a beer. When I raised and eye brow at him he links me " Gut feeling we might need it." Lexi raises up and takes a drink. Lexi turns to Ryan and I, " Before I tell you guys every thing I need you two to promise to hear everything I said before you react. And remember there are a few things that are still not known." Ryan was right, we are going to need these beers.
