Chapter 75
Luther
As Ryan kissed Lexi Tyler stood beside me. “ I know what you are looking for but it isn’t going to happen.” I know he is worried I’m going to attack Ryan for kissing Lexi. Most wolves would. “ It really doesn’t bother you.” Tyler asked. I shake my head “ No,he is her mate. And I know what she is doing.” I said. “ That is cool how accepting you are.” Isabelle said. “ It is my fate, as strange as it may be. And trust me when you get to know Lexi you will see she is worth it.” I said. I let Lexi and Ryan have their minute. I knew she needed to feel him out. She is looking to see if there is a stronger connection between her and Ryan that she had with Aiden. Judging by her glow she does but I’m going to wait to hear it from her before I say anything.
“ Anyone else think the glowing thing is weird?” Jake asked. I laughed, “ You will get used to it.” Ryan grabbed Lexi’s hand and turned around “ My lady wants a tour. Let’s give her one.” I grabbed her other one as Ryan introduced us to all the staff on the first floor. I noticed Lexi was paying close attention to everyone like she was looking for something. I would have to ask her about that later. Instead of checking out the rest of the packhouse, Lexi wanted to see the grounds. The grounds were too big to cover all of it on foot but as Ryan put it he was only going to show us the high lights for now.
While we went around to the pack hospital and preschool/nursery we explained everything to Jake about Lexi and being her guardian. Lexi gave him her usual speech that the choice is his. I loved his reaction. “ I get to guard and fight alongside a kickass glowing lady that is going to be our future queen. Hell, yea. Sign me up.” Jake said. When we got to the training field is where the fun happened.
Several of Ryan's warriors were training and Lexi wanted to watch. As she watched she asked Ryan, Jake, Isabelle and Tyler about different moves she saw. Lexi’s training at my pack is different from what she is seeing. We train her physically and her powers. She knows how to defend herself. But we have to modify a few things because of her intense speed and strength. Something these guys don’t have.
Lexi was watching the warriors and I swear I could see her taking notes in her head. Suddenly Lexi tensed at my side and turned her head slightly. I looked in the direction she was looking but didn’t see anything at first. A minute later the scent of strong perfume and a high pitched squeal came from a girl running right at Ryan. I’m talking a glass shattering squeal. Lexi stepped closer to me as the girl launched herself at Ryan. Ryan caught the girl as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The girl kisses his cheek. “ Ryan, I’m so glad you are back. Training sucks when you aren’t here.” I saw Lexi taking deep breaths to calm herself but it wasn’t helping. She kept her eyes glued to the training field, not Ryan and the girl. I saw her glow go red and knew she was upset. I could feel it radiating off her and all I could think is here we go again.
“ And he calls me disrespectful.” Lexi whispers. I place my arm on her back and rub circles to try and calm her.I peek over at Ryan and see he is trying to get the girl's arms from around his neck. “ Um, Luther. Is Lexi alright?” Isabelle asks, stepping back. I see the girl kiss Ryan’s other cheek and hang on tighter. Lexi's red glow pulses and her hair is blowing even though the wind isn’t blowing. “ No she is not. You need to back away now.” I say with urgency in my voice. “ Baby, you need to pull it back. I can feel your rage.” I say as I stand in front of her. I place my hands on the side of her face so she will look at me.
“ Lexi.” Ryan shouts and finally gets the girl off. She was like a fucking monkey the way she was hanging on. “ Honey, what’s happening?” Ryan asked, putting his arm around her waist. Lexi turned to Ryan and growled “ Mine.” Ryan places his hand on her neck giving her a light squeeze “ Yes, honey. All yours.” I don’t move until I see her back to her normal glow. “ Ryan, you need to deal with that quickly. I won’t let her go through that bullshit again.” I told him. He needs to know that shit isn’t going to fly. Lexi was hurt once already. I won’t let it happen again.
“ Everyone listen up. I want to introduce you to someone very important.” Ryan shouts. The entire training field comes over. Tyler, Jake and Isabelle stand behind Lexi at attention. The girl that was hanging on Ryan is standing in front of the group looking adoringly at him. I want to gag. “ Everyone, I want you to meet Lexi, my mate and your future Luna.” Ryan yelled loud and clear. “ She doesn’t look like much. How can she be Luna? And why is that other guy hanging on her if she is your mate.” the screechy girl whines.
I blink and Lexi is in front of the girl, has her by the throat and up in the air. Ryan’s jaw has dropped as well as several others because they never saw Lexi move. “ They are both mine and off limits. I may not look like much but don’t underestimate me. It will cost you your life.” Lexi growled.
“ Is it wrong of me to think that it is hot as hell?” Ryan asked me. “ Nope. I think that all the time.” I told him. “ But you might want to get Lexi to drop the girl before she stops breathing.” I said. Instead of freaking out or getting pissed Ryan simply says “ Lexi, honey. Why don’t you put her down and come back to me.” Lexi looks over her shoulder and pouts “ No fun.” Ryan laughs “ Let’s finish the introductions then I will let you train with some of the warriors.” That does it. “ Yea.” Lexi giggles. Lexi drops the girl. Just let her go to drop to the ground with a thud and it at our side.
“ Can I really train with the warriors? I only get to train with Luther’s elite team.” Lexi asks excitedly. “ If it makes you smile like that, sure.” Ryan said. Yes, he is whooped already. That smile gets me everytime too. I would give her the moon for that smile.
