Valerose
“ We are fine.” I responded quietly but loud enough I know she would hear us and probably her wolf gaurds. “ Find us a spot away from the humans and that gives us as much privacy as possible. I will find you.” she said. I didn’t even think about it I did what she asked. Embrose laughed at me “ You are already following her orders and you aren’t even mated yet.” Once we settled into a spot close to the woods but in sight of the buildings I asked “ Are you saying you wouldn’t do the same for that voice?” Embrose raises his hands “ Oh no I would.”
I hear footsteps and smell Lexi mixed with wolves. I can smell Lexi’s wolf to but it is sweeter than any other wolf. “ I have to admit I wasn’t sure you would show up.” my angel said as she turned the corner. When I saw her I was speechless and my jaw dropped. “ Holy fucking shit.” Embrose whispers from beside me. At least he could get words out. I was tongued tied. That hasnn’t happened in hundreds of years. Standing before me with a guard on each side of her is an angel. She was wearing a thin baby blue jacket over a white gauzy ankle length dress. Her red hair is down and flowing down her back. The breeze catches it making it blow back. The sun beaming down making it look like it is on fire.
If she is wearing any make-up you can’t tell other than some lips gloss making her lips shine and look kissable. I can even see her glow although faintly. She looks like an angel that dropped from the heavens. Lexi looks me over quickly the turns her eyes back to me. Just looking into them I feel a warmth spread over me. I want to grab her and hold her close to me. I want to kiss those plump lips. I want to know if her skin tastes like the strawberries she smells like. “ Why wouldn’t I show up?” I asked her. Lexi cocks her head to the side and smirks. “ Aren’t us wolves beneath you?” she asked. It was just a question, no change in her voice to indicate if she was mad, or disappointed or even disgusted. Yet, I felt like shit. “ Or we were. But we will get back to that. I think a proper introduction is in order first don’t you think? Since you already know who I am why don’t you start?” Lexi said.
I hold my hand out to her as her guards growl at me “ My name is Valerose.” I could snap their necks right now. I’m temped. Lexi’e eyes brighten and glow as she watches what I’m going to do. “ Easy, my guards. Right now he means no harm. This is just a friendly chat. Isn’t that correct, Mr. Valerose?” she asks as she rakes her glowing eyes over Embrose then back to me. I feel she could see right to my soul with her glowing eyes. I wish she would look at me with lust. Just once. But she keeps her facial expressions neutral. I can’t read what she is thinking.
“ That is correct. This is my second Embrose.” I said pointing to him. Embrose did a deep bow and said “ It is a pleasure to meet you again.” Lexi takes a sip of her coffee that has a strong smell of vanilla. I’ll have to keep that in mind. “ I have classes soon so how about we get this over with. What changed, Valerose?” Lexi asked. “ What do you mean?” I asked. “ From everything I learned about you think all wolves are below you. We are ment to be enslaved or killed. You are ruthless and kill without mercy. You had witches send rabid wolves to kill me. Twice. But then nothing. So what changed?” she asked.
I could lie to her. I could make up an excuse. I could say nothing had changed and I’m still ruthless but not only do I think she would see right through me it wouldn’t win me any points with Lexi. “ Truth?” I asked. “I would like that, yes.” Lexi said. “ You.” I said. Poor Lexi looked genuinely confused. I went on to explain. “ You are what changed. I was determined to win this war that is supposed to happen. I didn’t care how it happened. I sent wolves to kill you because I don’t get my hands dirty. I wanted to rid the world of all the wolves that were useful to me. I’m sure you have heard more about me. And it would all be correct with the exception of us hurting women. I do draw the line there and kill anyone that doesn’t follow that rule.” I said.
I looked around and see a small bench a few feet away and point to it.” Do you mind?” I asked making sure to keep my movement none threatening. Lexi motions for me to go ahead. I unbutton my jacket and sit down. Embrose stays where he is just leans against the wall. “ You speech still doesn’t explain what any of this has to do with me, Val. Other than me supposedly being this great person the Goddess created to go against you.We are supposed to be each others greatest enemy. I don’t like it” Lexi said. I hate when people try to shorten my name or don’t address me in a proper manner. Well, most people. I don’t mind Lexi calling me Val.
“ I hired a private investigator to find and follow you because the witches I have couldn’t get a lock on you just your energy. He came back with everything he could find. He even got a few pictures of you.” I told her. Her guards growled at me for that. I can’t blame them. I would do the same about someone was looking at pictures of her. “ Calm boys.” Lexi said to the guards.I see her send a quick pulse of light out to them and they instantly calm. I have heard about the things Lexi can do but it is different to see it before my eyes. Embrose’s eyes got big.
Lexi giggles. Fucking giggles. It is the lovelyest sound I have ever heard. Like music. “ Don’t look so shocked. I’m sure your witches have told you about my abilities.” “ We have heard a few things, yes. But it is different to see.” Embrose said. “ Please continue, Val.” Lexi said. I could see Embrose watching my reaction to her calling me Val. I know he was shocked when I didn’t do anything to stop her. “ I took one look at your picture and knew I could never lay a finger on you to hurt you. I didn’t want anyone to hurt you. I ordered the attacks to stop.” I told her. I can feel Embrose watching me as I pour my heart out to Lexi. I don’t think she is making me do it but I can’t seem to stop. I don’t want to.
“ And when I saw you in person, I didn’t want to do this damn war we are supposed to have.” I told her. Lexi walks towards me and asks “ So what do you want, Val?” she asked me when she stood three feet in front of me. I looked in her eyes so she could see the truth “ You. As my Queen.”
